SCOTTISH cycling sensation Oscar Onley remains on course to equal Scotland's best EVER Tour de France finish after a gruelling stage to Mont Ventoux.
Onley may have been born in London but he was raised from a young age in the town of Kelso, identifies as Scottish and came through the Scottish system.

A natural climber, he finished a creditable 39th as he was selected for his first Tour de France 12 months ago.
And he's still sitting in a remarkable FOURTH spot in the toughest bike race in the world with just FIVE stages to withstand after one of the toughest climbs in cycling.
He came in 14th on the sheer slopes of Ventoux, some 2 minutes 29 back on stage winner Valentin Paret Peintre.
But that was still enough for him to limit his losses on former yellow jersey winner Primoz Roglic in fifth spot to just 38 seconds.
And that means he survives in fourth with just four days and then the traditional procession to the Champs Elysees in Paris on the final day to come.
No Scottish rider has ever secured a podium spot for one of the 1-2-3 in the General Classification on the Tour.
Robert Millar, now known as Philippa York, finished fourth back in 1984, in addition to picking up the polka dot jersey for the top mountain climber on the tour that year.
Onley is 11 minutes and four seconds behind imperious Slovenian leader Tadej Pogacar, who looks set to claim a FOURTH yellow jersey.
But with a couple of big days in the Alps still to come he's still got hope of finding the two minutes he needs to overtake Germany's Florian Lipowitz to get third.
He's also chasing Lipowitz in the race for the white jersey, the privilege of the best young rider in the race.

Amazingly Onley actually could have had a career as an elite cross-country runner instead and only started riding a bike after being inspired to start cycling by the fact that the time-trial route for his local club, Kelso Wheelers, went right past his house.
He raced in Europe as a junior before joining the development team of his current squad, Picnic PostNL, in 2021.
The Tour de France is coming to Edinburgh in 2027 and he's previously spoken of his delight and hope to be on the start line.
He said: 'The Tour de France coming to Scotland is really exciting and can have a huge impact on inspiring people to get on bikes and potentially start a new wave of talent coming out of Scotland.
"Scotland has hosted the Tour of Britain a few times over the past years and always puts on a good show, Le Tour offers a great opportunity to showcase the country on a bigger scale."

AS Roma unveil new kit that has Celtic fans all saying the same thing about adidas
The Serie A giants and adidas have launched an eye-catching new third shirt that has left Hoops supporters green with envy Sportswear designers at adidas, look away now. Celtic fans aren't impressed. The Hoops have launched a raft of 2025/26 training and matchday gear over the summer - including three brand new kits. But ever since penning a record-breaking deal with adidas in 2020, fans have been split over the mixed bag of designs dished out by the German giants. And now some fed-up punters have hit boiling point after AS Roma unveiled a third strip that's left Celtic diehards green with envy. The Italian outfit dropped a stunning new jersey that looks strikingly similar to a classic Celtic top - featuring a white base, green collar and gold trim. The eye-catching shirt - made by adidas - doesn't come cheap, priced at £86.50 before any personalisation. But that hasn't stopped Hoops supporters from venting their fury online, with many insisting the kit should've been saved for Brendan Rodgers ' side. One baffled fan wrote: "Adidas: 'We've got a white and green, trefoil classic looking shirt with the word 'TIM' on the front of it, which club can we give this shirt to?' And still gives it out to Roma rather than Celtic. Mental." Another raged: "If you can't see that this is what @celticfc should be getting rather than that pair of pyjamas we got then you really need to pick up your game next year." This supporter fumed: "Who at Celtic and adidas passed the kits for Celtic this season because they're abysmal compared to many other kits released so far this marketing season." A fourth fan sighed: "Would have been an all timer this one." One punter took a more measured view, saying: "I've been a little critical of the noise around the Adidas kits this season but I have to say this would have been a beauty of a Celtic top." While another huffed: "This is why our shite strips are so frustrating. We're not asking for a masterpiece, just give us something simple and clean like this." There was at least one supporter prepared to defend adidas' corner, though, saying: "Still would be pointless kit though as it still clashes with St Mirren and Killie away. Point of away and 3rd kits is to avoid kit clashes, which adidas have failed to do in four different seasons for Celtic." Broxburn football rematch arranged by Edinburgh Airport staff helps children's hospital charity
Among the spectators were airport mascots, Edi the Pilot, and Sky A keenly-contested football game between high-flying staff at Edinburgh Airport and medics and support workers from Edinburgh Children's Hospital raised over £3,000 for the hospital's charity. The teams met last year and had such a great day that they decided on a rematch at Broxburn Athletic's stadium on Sunday, July 6, and despite the weather the turnout was double that of last year's. Both teams were led out by their respective CEO's – Gordon Dewar for EDI (airport), and Rosyln Neely for Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity. Among the spectators were airport mascots, Edi the Pilot, and Sky. Edinburgh Airport staff from across the airport hold a number of events throughout the two-year charity partnership to raise money and awareness of the fantastic work the ECHC team does for children and their parents. ECHC supports the life-changing work of Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and work tirelessly to provide seriously ill children and their families with the extra support they need when facing a life-changing hospital visit. With the help of the public, ECHC helps to speed up patients' recovery, and aims to allay their fears by providing reassurance, distraction and comfort every step of the way. Paul McDougall, a security officer at Edinburgh Airport and one of the charity champions who organised the game, said: 'A huge congratulations to Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity for their well-deserved 5-2 win. 'The weather was typically Scottish, but that didn't dampen anyone's spirits. It was a brilliant day with a lot of laughs and some good football. 'We've raised more than £3000 so far and with donations still open, we're hoping to boost that even further for such a fantastic cause.'
