I want to enjoy sex but I can't stop worrying about my breasts
This week we hear from Georgia* a 28-year-old journalist working in New York City, who is married to her husband, Aaron*.
The pair used to enjoy dirty talk, but lately, Aaron hasn't been so vocal. It's coincided with Georgia being diagnosed with two fibroadenomas in her breasts.
These non-cancerous lumps have caused her discomfort, making them tender to touch. She's been left feeling self-conscious, and wonders if it's impacting Aaron too.
'I've been scared that this will ruin the most pleasurable and fun part of having sex with my husband,' she says.
'But I'm open-minded, and I'm eager to experiment with what works for us both.'
Without further ado, here's how Georgia got on this week…
The following sex diary is, as you might imagine, not safe for work .

I wake up in the hotel room and immediately check the calendar on my phone — my fibroadenoma appointment is in exactly three weeks. I'll be consulting with a surgeon about removing the lumps.
I had always been comfortable with my body and breasts, thinking they suited me perfectly, until the fibroadenoma arrived. Now, I wish I could be slimmer, because this operation could make my breasts smaller. I'm afraid I'll look odd after this whole ordeal.
Aaron and I are currently on my birthday weekend trip in Houston, Texas, where we've been since Saturday afternoon. We've already had sex four times which is much more than our average weekend at home, embracing new moves including a face-sitting position and a reverse cowgirl one.
Aaron is encouraging me to be more dominant in the hopes of making me feel more 'proud' of my body right now.
It's warm in between the sheets this morning, and we start to get it on.
We do some pushing tush (missionary where the receiving partner can stimulate the anus of the penetrating partner), the rocking horse (cowgirl where you're both sat up holding each other), and happy scissors (where the receiving partner lays on their back with their legs spread wide, while the penetrating partner thrusts and holds a vibrator to the clitoris).
Sometimes it hurts when Aaron touches my left breast, where the largest lump is, and a little less with my right one. He's been shy about touching them — I wonder if he feels sorry for me, or he doesn't know how to handle them anymore.
Aaron is more quiet than me. He just moans, and takes long breathes. He used to talk dirty to me, and I miss that version of him. We used to be hyper excited to discover every inch of each other.
I try to initiate more dirty talk, but nothing really comes out. It annoys me, as I feel like him talking would distract me from these lumps.
I let it slide, but I want to ask him tomorrow what's going on.
Aaron and I have a good conversation. He tells me he thinks too much about what to say during dirty talk, and it ends up coming out all wrong and rushed. So, when we start having sex, I encourage him to improvise.
His reaction is pretty bland, with a quick nod and a smirk. Honestly, I can't catch the words he is saying.
I just end up saying 'yes' multiple times to phrases and words that I can barely understand. He comes, but I don't.
I decide to masturbate while he's in the bathroom, getting ready for our brunch date. Today my breasts are a little bit more tender, but I manage to gently touch them.
I zone out and imagine Aaron dirty talking to me.
We're back from Houston to the frenzy and chaotic atmosphere of New York. I have so many deadlines to take care of and Aaron's cute self is distracting me.
Trust me, I want to spend the whole day in bed, but I need to attend meetings and run errands. He understands I have work to do, so today he chills by himself.
I'd say we're very good at respecting each other's boundaries, and besides, my groin is still recuperating from everything we got up to in Houston.
Today I work at the office and by the time I'm home, I'm tired.
We didn't actively plan on having sex tonight, but we end up in bed. Aaron's penis isn't getting as hard as usual, and it's making him self-conscious.
But in this moment, something shifts. He becomes more vocal with his needs. 'I need a moment, I don't know what's happening', he says, and I'm glad to hear him opening up.
He senses that I'm excited though and it seems seems to spark something in him. He starts dirty talking, his energy picks up, and we both smile, sharing a feverish connection.
I don't even get to think about the fibroadenoma much. I let go of a gentle moan and laugh.
Tonight, in between fingering, we tried the stacked snakes position, where I lay down face first on the bed, but lift up my hips and he thrusts from above.
I'm reminded that Aaron has always been good at quietly taking note of what I like and don't like, and when I least expect it he gets to perform that touch, position, or move that I've been waiting for.
I'm tired, but very happy.
We make love for five hours straight, from 8am to 1pm. I know I should be working, but I allow myself to let go completely.
My day starts at 2pm. I spend hours working on my articles until 2am. It feels like I barely have a moment to breathe, but I know prioritising Aaron this morning was the right choice.
Aaron wants to make love again, but I turn him down. Not because I don't want to have sex, but the thought of missing these deadlines isn't going to get me in the mood to give a blow job. More Trending
I call my mum this afternoon. 'When is your doctor's appointment again?' she asks. 'In two weeks,' I reply.
The anxiety is palpable. I want to remove these lumps, but how small will my boobs look after this procedure? Will they be weirdly-shaped? Will I still enjoy sex with my husband?
I try to let go of this thought, and instead focus on the past week. I'm looking forward to a lifetime of exciting, fun and meaningful sex, no matter what my body looks like.

Taskmaster 2025 winner reveals plans to return after 'masterpiece' season
Taskmaster season 19 has come to a triumphant end with BBC star Mathew Baynton celebrating an epic victory – and sharing his hopes to return already. The Ghosts actor, 44, won the top spot and a bust of host Greg Davies' head as his reward after undergoing ten weeks of gruelling (and baffling) tasks against his co-stars and fellow comedians. Following Mathew's winning 169 points was comedian Stevie Martin with 154 points (who separately won the final episode). In third place was US star Jason Mantzoukas with 150 points, then Rosie Ramsey with 149 points and, coming in last, we had Greg's almost-wife Fatiha El-Ghorri with a respectable 141 points. 'I'm just really happy. I was having so much fun…' Mat told Metro about his victory ahead of the final episode. He joins an exclusive group of past Taskmaster winners including Ed Gamble, Katherine Ryan, Dara Ó Briain and Mae Martin. And he plans to take full advantage of the chance to return for the spin-off series Champion of Champions which pits previous winners against one another. 'I did start thinking, 'oh, it would be really nice [to win] because winning means a repeat of the experience. The number one thing about winning is thinking, 'Oh, great, I get to go back.' 'I guess the only sadness about getting to go back is that I won't be sat with those guys [the season 19 contestants] because they were so much fun,' he explained. As to when and what combination he returns in remains to be seen. The Horrible Histories actor wowed audiences, sidekick little Alex Horne, his fellow competitors and, most importantly of all, the titular maestro himself, Greg, to secure victory on the Channel 4 reality series. The actor has gone viral among the Taskmaster fandom (and beyond) more than once this season for his iconic behaviour – including one task where he and Alex transform from caterpillars into butterflies. Responding to the fan reaction, he said: 'It is lovely and with that one in particular (as with so many of them) I have to big up the team because they're such amazing artists that they take these videos you have and just do such a brilliant job. '[There's] no time, really, to prepare… I was like, 'oh, let's turn into butterflies'' and 'ten minutes later you're in these costumes filming them, and Chrissy, the makeup artist, made us look so funny. 'The brilliance of it is 10% the contestant and 90% the Taskmaster team, who are just a bunch of geniuses.' He added that 'if people knew how it was made, they'd be so much more in awe of that team just making it incredible.' Whether coming up with perfectly executed task prizes (like his fakeout with the biggest anticlimax) or proving his utmost commitment to the tasks no matter how absurd, the Yonderland star brought the skills needed to climb the ranks. For him, however, the most 'humiliating' moments were when had 'messed up' on a task without even realising. 'There was a task where I thought I had done triumphantly well, but I had inexplicably moved a wheelie bin, disqualifying myself in the process or when I shouted 'everybody' to lead along a sing along of a song that I wrote that took me one word over the word limit,' he explained. The Horrible Histories icon ended the final episode to raucous cheers from the live audience before going in for a passionate snog with his newly-acquired trophy. During the finale, the contestants had to bring in 'the thing most likely to make you do a double-take'; fill a box with yellow sand (with multiple catches of course); strike and hold a pose for 10 whole minutes and set up an unconventional drive-through service. Oh, and shoving a dangling carrot into a bucket without the use of your hands. So, business as usual. His victory comes at the end of a season that has been widely praised by viewers as the best season in a long time, if not ever – something he is thrilled about. 'Taskmaster season 19 is hands down the best season ngl I really don't want it to end,' spaceyeurotrash wrote on X. 'This series has been one of the best in ages,' jessatkinson92 echoed. 'Love this cast dearly, my favourite series,' ellasrhapsody declared. 'S19 has just been such a joy. Every new ep is the greatest episode so far, and the chemistry between the cast is just so excellent. I don't want this series to end,' sulcusandjirehs added. 'Season 19 Taskmaster is a stone cold classic already,' tarteaucitron2x echoed. 'Difficult to believe that this series of Taskmaster is almost over, arguably one of the best of the past three years,' bromley001 reflected. 'I love them so much pls can we have another 10 episodes I'm not ready for it to be over,' fern praised. After his win, many also declared him 'worthy' to take out the title. 'Been a bloody brilliant series of #taskmaster with one of the best lineups ever. Mathew a worthy winner,' Phil posted on X. 'Absolutely brilliant series of #Taskmaster with a perfect winner and great final standings overall,' Kneale commented. 'That's just really gratifying,' Mat said about the widespread praise. 'You can never control how people perceive or receive anything. I prepared to have as much fun as I could, and then try and cover my ears and my eyes and just ignore whatever response there might be to it. 'So it's a huge relief when you dare to take a peek and find that people are saying nice things.' He added that he had initially felt 'slightly worried about feeling self-conscious' but was 'delighted [he] was able to get over it and enjoy it.' Although he joked: 'I still think my career going forward, as long as I haven't destroyed the possibility of people taking me seriously as an actor, will be in fiction characters.' More Trending There will be a 20th season landing on Channel 4 sometime later this year and the line-up has officially been confirmed. Breakthrough comic Ania Magliano, presenter Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Inside No, 9 star Reece Shearsmith and actor Sanjeev Bhaskar will join Greg and Alex for the new season. Taskmaster is available to stream on Channel 4. This article was first published on July 3, 2025. Got a story? It's been 16 years since the most 'disturbing' Doctor Who story ever
If you're reading this, you're likely a big Doctor Who fan and who can blame you? The iconic British sci-fi show has been on the box for 61 years now, charming viewers across the world with its colourful characters, creative stories, and wonky special effects (and it's showing no signs of slowing down, with the recent series fronted by Ncuti Gatwa having an episode described as the best in years). Yet while Doctor Who is nominally a family show, the series does have a reputation for being surprisingly scary when it wants to be. There are episodes where gas mask-wearing zombies swarm across London, companions have been chopped into bits and turned into Cybermen, and who could forget the Weeping Angels? Still, as terrifying as these Doctor Who stories are, there's one tale that's so terrifying it left viewers 'traumatised'. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. The story in question is called The Children of Earth, and it was told in the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood. The Children of Earth was Torchwood's third season, and it saw Captain Jack Harkness and his team defending the Earth against a new alien threat called the 456. The 456 weren't invading aliens like the Daleks or Cybermen, though; they were far more insidious. These strange creatures came to our planet not to conquer but because they wanted our most valuable resource. So what were they after? Our children, of course. Specifically, they wanted 10% of the Earth's children or all life on Earth would be wiped out. What makes this premise so horrifying isn't just the fact that it involves children; it's the reason these strangers from another world want the kids. They don't need the children to survive; they want them because the chemicals in the children allow the 456 to get high. But surely the Doctor will arrive to save the day? Sorry, it's not that type of story. To say Children of Earth is darker than a goth's favourite pair of black jeans doesn't do it justice. It's a genuinely grim story that explores some really dark themes and ideas that I can't explain here without requiring a trigger warning or six – but they touch on governmental abuse of power, exploitation of children, and that old favourite of first-year philosophy students the world over, utilitarianism. Don't take my word for it, though, the fans agree with me. One reviewer on IMDB wrote that Children of Earth is 'one serious, intense bit of drama!' On Rotten Tomatoes – where the series has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score – reviewers have written that this is 'easily the best Torchwood Season with great emotional scenes' while another added it's 'the best-written serial of a television show I have ever seen'. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances – Gas mask wearing zombies? No thank you. – Gas mask wearing zombies? No thank you. Midnight – The Doctor battles an unseen entitiy that steals his voice? Blink – You know it you love it. You'll be too scared to watch it – You know it you love it. It's an enjoyable mini-series, filled with humour, good acting, and a brilliant plot. It's bloody excellent.' More Trending On Reddit, Brimstone747 added: 'Children of Earth dropped my jaw like nothing else on television. I kept waiting for The Doctor to show up and save the day.' Jarita12 perhaps put it best however when they wrote: 'Bloody amazing but really hard to re-watch.' Torchwood Children of Earth is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. Got a story? 'I'm a diehard Lana Del Rey fan - everyone's wrong about her new tour'
As the whole of Wembley Stadium screamed the lyrics of Ride back to Lana Del Rey, there was a euphoric sense of catharsis in the air – this was the point of live music. Alongside a handful of other artists, the 40-year-old music artist has soundtracked my adolescence and early adulthood. The melody of Summertime Sadness takes me back to sunny days spent with my sisters. Dark Paradise and Carmen became the anthem of my own indie pop-themed teen crash-out about the existential point of it all . Norman F**king Rockwell! came out in my first year of university as I discovered the world on my own for the first time, threaded together with the backing music of Lana's ethereal notes In recent years, Lana's Did You Know There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard and A&W perfectly capture the essence of childhood nostalgia mixed with the relentless dread of growing older, and all the messiness that it entails. I tried to watch Lana for the first time in February 2020 – I think we can all guess how that one ended. So, this was attempt number two. I'm not naive. I've heard the stories of the Born to Die hitmakers' poor stage etiquette – notoriously showing up late, singing off her phone, and disappointing fans with the short show lengths. Still, when I first saw the poor reviews rolling in for her UK and Ireland stadium tour (complaints of a poor setlist and underwhelming 90-minute performance) I was still gutted and bracing myself for disappointment. The Christian preacher we walked past on the stroll from Wembley Park station to the entrance, warning us of the hellfire that awaited, felt weirdly prescient. And I would be lying if I said I had much interest in TikTok sensation turned debut pop star Addison Rae (who was opening for Lana as well as featuring in her set). When she strolled onto stage five minutes early, I breathed a sigh of relief. The rest of the set proved just how wrong people had been. Not only did Lana look a vision on stage, leaning into her familiar old Hollywood aesthetic, but her stage set-up (a tree-adorned home) felt fitting in its beauty and simplicity. Then, of course, came the music. Ultimately, when it came down to it, belting out the lyrics to Venice B**ch, Ultraviolence, Summertime Sadness, Video Games and Young and Beautiful alongside thousands of others made the whole experience worth it. For the eighth year, 150,000 festival goers will descend on Glasgow Green from 11-13 July to see the liked of 50 Cent, Gracie Abrams and Biffy Clyro, and you could be there! The Prize, including entry and attendance at TRSNMT festival, is subject to and governed by the Promoter's full ticket terms and conditions. 1 prize available. 1 entry per person. Full T&Cs apply, see here. Lana commanded the room like a witch casts a spell, with all of us hooked onto her every word and move. Her strength has always been in the way her music connects with her audience, and the unique husk of her voice that imbues an added gravitas to her songs. It's clear she cared about the audience experience as well, commenting on her attempts to make the sounds as high quality as possible between songs. Even her duet with Addison Rae, Diet Pepsi, ended up being a hoot. Of course, there is no denying that the show still felt short and – given it was her first stadium tour – lengthening her setlist to cover more of her songs (including some wildcards) would have elevated this to a five-star experience. Especially as she no longer had a new album to promote, given its unexpected delay. My friends and I spent the whole day (July 4) anticipating she would sing National Anthem as a nod to American Independence Day to no avail. More Trending It also felt cheeky to have a pre-recorded projection sing some of her songs when so many had paid a lot to experience her vocals live. When compared to the theatrics brought by Taylor Swift, Beyonce, hey, even newcomers like Olivia Rodrigo – perhaps there was more scope for Lana to use the stage to create a larger-than-life performance. In the end, the highs by far outweighed the lows and if my biggest note was that I simply wished there was more – then I'll take it as a win. Got a story?
