CARLOZ TEVEZ lit up Soccer Aid - and re-lit the fuse with Manchester United fans.
The strike legend has a controversial reputation at Old Trafford from his playing days.

And he somehow managed to rile Red Devils' supporters during the sell-out charity match even more than he did two decades ago
The Argentine, 41, came off the bench to hit FOUR goals as the World XI roared back from 3-0 down to snatch a late 5-4 win.
Some United fans were already angry - as they reckoned he should not have been allowed to return on the field at Old Trafford.
And they were even more annoyed when Tevez's dazzling display was accompanied by a surprising choice of tune over the tannoy system.

"You'll Never Walk Alone" - the signature tune of big rivals Liverpool - boomed around the ground.
Tevez was, notoriously, a United player from 2007-09.
But to many fans he soured his stay beyond redemption with a go-or-stay saga - ending when his advisors revealed he no longer wanted to play for Alex Ferguson's team.
Instead he joined fast-rising neighbours Manchester City - for a successful four-year stint.

And although he's long gone from Old Trafford he's not forgotten by fuming fans of United.
However, he walked the walk - and almost did it alone - as he led the World XI's recovery, before Big Zuu 'rapped' up victory with a 20-yard drill.
Westlife star Nicky Byrne makes incredible Soccer Aid double save..
Admittedly, -drilled' might be a slight exaggeration - as BZ's 20-yard near-post shot should never have beaten England keeper Paddy McGuinness.
But the TV presenter made a mess of it - after inexplicably trying to save it with his legs and ending up in a tangle.
And if McGuinness was honest he should at that stage have pleaded "Take Me Out" - of goal.
However, although it was too late for England, it wasn't too late for United supporters to vent their ire over Tevez - and Liverpool's tune.
One wrote: "Soccer Aid has absolutely rattled me here. Who let Carlos Tevez in the building and who the f*** agreed to play that over the tannoy."
Plenty of fans made the point after the frontman was only halfway through his quadruple haul.
One posted: "Playing you'll never walk alone at old Trafford and Carlos Tevez brace… Jesus" - followed by a laughing emoji.
Another simply stated: "Watched Soccer Aid for 6 minutes and seen Carlos Tevez score a double and you'll never walk alone being played at Old Trafford."
Another joked: "Tevez getting hat-trick and YNWA being played in the stadium, don't think soccer aid will be getting played at Old Trafford anymore."
Others even asked why he was allowed to play there at all.
And one extended that suggestion by writing on X: "Shouldn't be allowed to play you'll never walk alone at Old Trafford even for Soccer Aid."

‘One of the biggest mistakes in football' – Ex-Man Utd coach slams club for transfer decision ‘everyone at club regrets'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MANCHESTER UNITED made one of the "biggest mistakes in football" by selling Scott McTominay, a former Red Devils coach has claimed. The Scotland international's near-life-long love affair with the Old Trafford club came to an end last August when he joined Napoli for a fee of £27.5million. McTominay, however, has flourished since leaving the Theatre of Dreams and helped guide Napoli to last season's Serie A title. He scored 12 goals in 34 league appearances for the Neopolitans and was named Serie's Most Valuable Player of the season. Many connected with United have since cursed McTominay's departure, including former coach Benni McCarthy. Alejandro Garnacho sent Roy Keane warning after Man Utd star's 'stupid' decision
Alejandro Garnacho caused controversy after posing in an Aston Villa and former Manchester United star Louis Saha has claimed Roy Keane would have crunched him in training in response Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane would have taken Alejandro Garnacho out on the training pitch for his latest show of petulance. Garnacho, who has fallen out of favour at United, posted on social media a picture of him wearing an Aston Villa top with Marcus Rashford's name and number on the back. Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa after falling out with boss Ruben Amorim, and Garnacho's provocative stunt was seen as him taunting the United boss after he, too, suffered the same fate as the England forward. Garnacho was dropped for United's 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao, prompting the winger – who turned 21 yesterday – to publicly criticise Amorim over the decision and reveal he was considering his future. That in turn convinced Amorim that Garnacho has no place in his future plans, with the club actively looking to sell the £50million-rated Argentina international this summer. Former United striker Louis Saha said ex-skipper Keane would have dealt with Garnacho in the most brutal way possible – by subjecting him to a series of fierce tackles on the training pitch to show him he was out of line. 'Back in my day, I think Roy would have welcomed Garnacho back to the training ground with a few crunching tackles to help him understand what he thought of him,' said Saha. 'I can't say for sure, but I really doubt Keane will agree with what Garnacho did. 'It's the type of things we see from new generations. To be honest, I can't only blame Garnacho. The way the squad has been built, it's why Garnacho thinks he has the right to do something like this. 'It's why he thinks he can make stupid comments and say things on social media. He thinks he's going to get something out of it and, right now, United are the club who are giving him the platform to act this way. 'He already thinks he's a top player, already makes demands, acts without respect. It's a shame, but there are other factors than just the player. The club and the squad, they've already lost the leaders. The bad influences have already taken over. They think they're bigger and better than they are. 'Keane, Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham, Gary Neville, they would all make sure you understand what wasn't allowed. They wouldn't give players the luxury to act like this. He's been let down because he's been given too much responsibility for a player who hasn't earned it yet. 'It's fine if you're playing like Wayne Rooney. If you score 20 or 30 goals a season, do what you want, demand what you want. Garnacho has five goals and he's carrying on like this. It's crazy.' Asked if a potential swap deal involving Garnacho and Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku would be a good move, Saha said: 'Everyone can benefit from the move. It's a win-win. United want players who are dedicated, work hard, are eager to play and who have talent. 'We want players who want to play well, and there's extra motivation in the year of a World Cup. I think Nkunku knows if he plays well, he can get back in the French squad for the summer. At the same time, he's not the kind of player who disrupts the dressing room. 'As for Garnacho, if he wants to go, get rid of him. I used to be a huge fan, but that's over. Anyone like this, if they want to go, go. Even if you lose money, it doesn't matter, because you can bring in a player who can behave as they should.' Louis Saha was speaking to Coin Poker. The full interview can be found here. Inflation could not end sooner for Javier Milei
In Wild Tales, one of the most famous Argentine films of recent years, the character played by the actor Ricardo Darin decries the cost of a birthday cake he is buying for his daughter. 'Is it imported?' he asks the women behind the counter, a nod towards the eye-wateringly high cost of imported goods in Argentina. At the end of May, in a case of life-imitating-art, Darin inadvertently sparked a row with Javier Milei's government over the cost of another staple foodstuff: the empanada. Appearing on La Noche de Mirtha, a cozy evening talk show, Ricardo Darin decried their cost, saying a dozen empanadas can now easily cost 48,000 pesos – roughly equivalent to £30. This off-the-cuff statement prompted a rebuke from the country's economy minister and a slather of abuse from online libertarians. It was a rare intervention from someone who – unusual as this is for an Argentine – has always kept his cards close to his chest politically. Darin is undoubtedly one of Argentina's most successful actors, starring in the Oscar-winning The Secret in Their Eyes, which was subject to a disappointing English-language remake starring Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman, and he is currently helming the Netflix series El Eternauta. That even he put his head above the parapet is perhaps a sign of patience with Milei's government wearing thin among some sections of society. Empanadas, meant to be a cheap and affordable snack, are a good barometer for how much prices have risen. Darin's comments came during a discussion about Milei's latest attempt to get Argentines' dollars out of their mattresses and into the country's banks. 'Who are they talking about? A dozen empanadas costs 48,000 pesos, so I don't understand what they're talking about, there are a lot of people who are having a very hard time,' Darin said. A key pledge of Milei's campaign was dollarisation of the economy; the abolishment of the peso and adoption of the US dollar. These plans appear to have been put on ice. For now, Argentina lacks sufficient reserves of foreign currency to turn them into reality. This is part of the reason for Milei's latest gambit to try and get the informal dollars held by Argentines into the system. Official estimates suggest Argentines own around $270 billion outside of the formal system. While much of this is held in foreign bank accounts, a good deal is estimated to be kept in cash. Distrustful of domestic banks since the 2001 economic crisis in which the public was blocked from withdrawing their savings before the peso was devalued, this has been the saving method of choice for most Argentines since. Milei hopes to coax this money back into the system. A tax amnesty last year gave the economy an $18 billion boost, but now he plans to go further. Anyone paying dollars into the system will not be required to account for where they got the cash. Unsurprisingly, this has been described as a money launderer's dream by several analysts. While the empanada row with Darin might suggest a frustration with regression of living standards under Milei, there is evidence that the libertarian president has some rope left. In regional elections earlier in May, his party won its first salvo in its bid to crush the centre right. Manuel Adorni, Milei's official spokesman, won the regional elections in Buenos Aires, traditionally a centre-right stronghold. Milei's La Libertad Avanza party doubled its vote count compared to the previous elections in 2023. Inflation, too, seems to be abating. Monthly inflation slowed to its lowest level in more than five years in May: 1.5 per cent. Wholesale prices even fell 0.3 per cent. Argentina is preparing for midterm elections in October this year. These are crucial for Milei. Will he solidify his position and cast off the need for compromise? Or will voters who are feeling the pinch choose to punish him?
