THIS former England player wanted to become a WWE star, once clashed with Yuvraj Singh
Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff recently revealed that after his retirement from cricket, he got a major offer from WWE. The offer came directly from WWE's co-founder Vince McMahon and included the chance to participate in major events like the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, with a potential match against The Undertaker.
Flintoff took retirement from international cricket in 2010. After retirement, he began receiving offers to appear on television. During the same time, the WWE opportunity emerged. He seriously considered the idea of fighting The Undertaker in his hometown of Manchester, and the debate around this got centre stage during his appearance on Sky's show A League of Their Own.
After the offer was made Flintoff spent two weeks training at the WWE Performance Center in Tampa, Florida. He had been surrounded by 60 other wrestlers who were also struggling to get a contract of their very own and he observed that some did not like his presence because everybody was competing to get a few positions. The first day saw Flintoff get bruises on his back and injuries on his ribs due to the physical nature of WWE training which, according to Flintoff, was quite intense.
However, upon training, WWE recruited Flintoff and signed him into a three-year deal with an assurance that he would be in the Royal Rumble and the Wrestlemania within 18 months. The monetary package was high. The offer was, however, an extremely tricky one with all the stakes at high and the glamour not to mention, and Flintoff refused the offer not taking up a wrestling career.
When Flintoff appeared on The Overlap on Stick to Cricket he revealed that he had a desire to get back to Dubai life and family came first. His children wanted to continue to be associated with the cricket instead of residing to America, which also made him refuse the WWE offer because it was an enormous opportunity that he could have accepted.
He did not become a wrestler but later chose another avenue to enter combat sport and can be seen in his professional boxing debut in 2012. His narrations make it clear how individual morality and those of the family may count more than some of the most alluring job proposals, no matter how attractive and well-paid or public it is.

Roman Reigns' Contract Update: Is the Tribal Chief gearing up for the comeback or busy doing Hollywood movies?
रोमन रेंस Roman Reigns has been a marquee attraction for WWE for more than a decade. The Tribal Chief did not have the best WrestleMania season this year. He lost in the main event of WrestleMania 41 and was betrayed by his Wiseman, Seth Rollins. Moreover, Reigns has been off television for months now, and his contract status has reportedly become clearer. This has led to a discussion about whether he will make his return to WWE or focus his energies on outside projects. What is the latest update on Roman Reigns' WWE contract? Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman stated that TKO Group Holdings had approached Roman Reigns to renegotiate his current deal, which paid him a lot of money. However, Dave Meltzer ended the speculation with his report claiming that Reigns was not asked to take a pay cut and is still one of the highest-paid WWE performers today. The report, 'As far as income goes, there are seven WWE performers earning well over $5 million per year, with two others potentially reaching that mark this year. Apart from The Rock, Roman Reigns is the top earner. The stories from Jonathan Coachman about TKO asking Reigns for a pay cut or contract restructuring are false.' While Roman Reigns is a part-time performer and makes limited appearances, each one of them draws record viewership and attendance for shows. This drawing power has made him one of the biggest WWE superstars of all time. Will Roman Reigns return to WWE after bagging a major Hollywood project? After a few weeks of speculation, Roman Reigns was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter to be playing the role of Akuma in the live-action version of Street Fighter. The report also added that the shooting would take place in Australia in August. Moreover, an update by WrestleVotes stated that Reigns is expected to return to WWE for the buildup of SummerSlam. His feud is reportedly going to be against Seth Rollins, continuing their rivalry from the events of WrestleMania 41. So it is expected that Reigns will finish his WWE commitments leading up to SummerSlam, taking place on August 2nd and 3rd at MetLife Stadium. Following that, he is likely to take time off to begin filming for Street Fighter, which will be one of his major Hollywood projects to date and would present The OTC in a different way on the silver screen for the audience.
