Bruce Springsteen Joins Zach Bryan for Surprise Appearance at New Jersey Concert
Springsteen took the MetLife Stadium stage in his home state to perform his own 'Atlantic City' with Bryan. At the end of the song, the audience could be heard yelling 'BRUUUUUCE' (not booing, as some on social media misheard).

It's not the first time they've taken the stage together. Just last August, Springsteen surprised fans at Bryan's Philadelphia concert for a rendition of 'Atlantic City' and 'Sandpaper,' on which the two collaborated.
On Sunday, concertgoers got a tease of Springsteen's appearance early in the evening, when 'House of a Thousand Guitars,' from his 2020 album, Letter to You, was heard across the sound system.
Later in the set, Bryan brought out Caleb Followill, a member of opening band Kings of Leon, to the stage, introducing him as the 'sweetest man I've ever met.' He then took a beat to bring on 'one of the greatest men to ever exist, a New Jersey native, Mr. Bruce Springsteen.'
The band then launched into 'Atlantic City' off Springsteen's 1982 solo album, Nebraska, which Followill also joined in on. That era of Springsteen's music career will hit the big screen in October with the release of the film Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen.
Springsteen came out again for the show's encore, Bryan's 'Revival.'
Sunday's concert was the last of Bryan's three-night engagement in East Rutherford.
The shows also marked Kings of Leon's first live performances since canceling a portion of their European dates due to a heel injury sustained by Followill earlier this summer. Their setlist included past hits as well as new music from their latest release, Can We Please Have Fun.
Bryan, whose songwriting is often compared to Springsteen's, is a U.S. Navy veteran from Oklahoma who has helped usher in a new era of country music. His career took off in 2023 with his fourth album, Zach Bryan. He released another hit album, The Great American Bar Scene, in 2024.
Springsteen recently wrapped a European tour and has been seen in and around his hometown of Freehold, New Jersey. Bryan also spent much of June in Europe, headlining two nights at London's Hyde Park.

Gwyneth Paltrow hired as Astronomer's "very temporary" spokesperson after Coldplay KissCam scandal
Astronomer — the company whose CEO resigned after being caught on a KissCam at a Coldplay rock concert embracing a woman who was not his wife — is trying to move on from the drama with someone who knows the band pretty well. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who was married to Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin for 13 years, announced Friday on X that she was hired by Astronomer as a "very temporary" spokesperson. Astronomer, a tech company based in New York, found itself in an uncomfortable spotlight when two of its executives were caught on camera in an intimate embrace at a Coldplay concert — a moment that was then flashed on a giant screen in the stadium. CEO Andy Byron and human resource executive Kristin Cabot were caught by surprise when Martin asked the cameras to scan the crowd during a concert earlier this month. "Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy," Martin joked when the couple appeared on screen and quickly tried to hide their faces. In a short video, the "Shakespeare in Love" and "Ironman" star said she had been hired as a "very temporary" spokesperson for Astronomer. "Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days and they wanted me to answer the most common ones," Paltrow said, smiling and deftly avoiding mention of the KissCam fuss. "We've been thrilled that so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation," she said. "We will now be returning to what we do best — delivering game-changing results for our customers." Byron resigned last week after the company said it had launched a formal investigation after the video of him went viral online. Cabot has also resigned from the company, an Astronomer spokesperson confirmed to CBS News on Thursday. When footage from the KissCam first spread online, it wasn't immediately clear who the couple was. Soon after, the company identified the pair. The video clip resulted in a steady stream of memes, parody videos and screenshots of the pair's shocked faces filling social media feeds. Online streams of Coldplay's songs jumped 20% in the days after the video went viral, according to Luminate, an industry data and analytics company.

The FIFA Club World Cup final between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain commenced today at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and the halftime included a surprise performance by Coldplay, along with sets from the previously announced international lineup of Doja Cat (representing North America), Tems (representing Africa), and J Balvin (representing South America). The 15-minute set took place on a stage crafted by halftime presenters Global Citizen and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Coldplay closed out the halftime festivities with their unannounced set. Joined by Australian singer-songwriter Emmanuel Kelly, he and Martin duetted 'A Sky Full of Stars.' Balvin, Tems, and Doja Cat, along with the dancers, joined them onstage for Coldplay's uplifting finale. 'I'm so happy that we are all here together,' Kelly said to the audience's cheers to close out the halftime event. As Rolling Stone reported, the show took place on an innovative stage located in the upper stands of the venue, which eliminated the need to set up between halves during the game. It 'preserves the integrity of the pitch,' Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen told RS. 'By building our platform high in the stands, we ensured that the newly installed natural grass remains untouched while delivering an unforgettable show that is designed to be time-efficient and visually stunning.' With the halftime show and its partnership with FIFA, Global Citizen hopes to raise $100 million for global education access. 'I'm proud to represent America on this unique stage that will bring people from all corners of the world together,' Doja Cat told Rolling Stone ahead of the event. 'I'm also extremely grateful to continue to support global education efforts by raising funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.'
