Minister prods babus to ensure 24x7 power supply to hospitals
The Minister held a high-level review meeting on power supply in government hospitals at the Secretariat on Wednesday. This meeting was in the backdrop of the reports of recent power outage at the emergency ward of the Government Area Hospital in Zaheerabad. The hospital's incharge was suspended after doctors allegedly used mobile flashlights to treat a patient in view of power outage.
Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha directed the officials to take steps to ensure continuous power supply without interruption to emergency medical services in government hospitals. During the meeting, the performance and efficiency of the existing power generation capacity in all government hospitals were discussed. The Minister issued orders to provide automated generators in hospitals where there is no generator facility available, across the state. He instructed the officials to appoint electrical engineers on a temporary basis for power management in hospitals. Further he directed that necessary emergency equipment and supplies for ensuring continuous power supply.
The Minister directed the district medical department officials and the electricity department officials to coordinate closely. He also instructed the officials to take preventive measures to eradicate seasonal diseases keeping in mind the monsoon season. The Minister instructed the TGMSIDC officials to purchase Covid test kits and ensure availability of necessary medicines for seasonal diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chicken pox in government hospitals.

According to a 2023 statement from the US Attorney's Office in Utah, Moore allegedly ran the false certifications out of a plastic surgery center. His activities allegedly included administering saline shots to minors, at the request of their parents, so the children would think they were receiving Covid-19 vaccines, the statement said. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a US lawmaker from Georgia and staunch Trump supporter, had championed dropping the case against Moore, who she called a hero in a statement on Saturday. 'We can never again allow our government to turn tyrannical under our watch,' she said in a post on X. The latest move by Bondi comes amid scrutiny of her firings of senior Justice Department officials who worked on investigations into Trump, stoking accusations of political retribution in a department whose mission is to enforce US laws.

Rajnath visits KGMU to check on BJP functionary's health
Lucknow: Defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh visited KGMU on Saturday to check on the health of senior BJP functionary Vindhyavasini Kumar. Kumar recently tested positive for Covid-19, but has since tested negative. The 77-year-old leader was admitted to the KGMU Trauma Centre last Saturday and was later shifted to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Gandhi Ward. Doctors informed Singh that Kumar's condition is improving and has been taken off the ventilator. They said his kidney infection is also gradually subsiding. During his visit, Singh met Kumar's family members at the vice-chancellor's office, including his daughter Jayati Srivastava, son-in-law Anoop Sharma, and sons Devesh Kumar and Vishwesh Kumar. He assured the family of all possible support and instructed the doctors to ensure the best treatment. Later, he also visited the residence of corporator Nagendra Singh to offer his condolences on the recent demise of his mother. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, former deputy CM and Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma, and mayor Sushma Kharkwal were also present. |

City reports four more Covid cases
Mumbai: Maharashtra on Saturday reported four Covid-19 cases, all of which were detected in Mumbai, a health department official said. The state's tally since Jan 1 this year stands at 2,624, while that of Mumbai during this period is 1,043. While 41 people have died of the ailment, including 40 with comorbidities, the recovery count is 2,536. PTI
