Geo-tagging of all citizens by November: CM Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stated that every person in Andhra Pradesh will be geo-tagged and Aadhaar-authenticated by November. 'Every family will be tagged as a unit, and every house will also be geo-tagged. In case of any disaster like a cyclone, we'll be able to target support down to the household level,' Naidu said.
Addressing the FICCI National Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said 'We're creating a 'data lake repository' combining all state and central welfare schemes with personal data like assets, liabilities, and profession. Over 40-50 parameters-like humidity, temperature, water levels, air quality, and cyclone alerts, will be monitored in real-time using AI. The idea is to use this data to build a model of governance for the rest of the country and even the world,' he said.
Naidu laid out a bold vision for the state's future, emphasising a transition from the 'Ease of Doing Business' to the 'Speed of Doing Business.'
By 2047, AP will be No. 1 State in country on all parameters: Naidu
He described FICCI as the most influential body in commerce, trade, and policymaking, and stressed the value of platforms like Davos for fostering dialogue among politicians, business leaders, and academicians. He noted that he had attended Davos every time he served as Chief Minister, reflecting his long-standing belief in global engagement.

Indian Railways To Introduce Advanced Waitlist Charting, Mandate Aadhaar For Tatkal Bookings
Last Updated: The move is expected to benefit waitlisted passengers by giving them additional time to make alternate plans in case their tickets remain unconfirmed Indian Railways will now prepare the final reservation chart eight hours prior to a train's departure, replacing the earlier norm of four hours, in a significant shift aimed at enhancing transparency and passenger convenience. The move, currently under pilot testing, is expected to benefit waitlisted passengers by giving them additional time to make alternate plans in case their tickets remain unconfirmed. 'This move will reduce uncertainties for passengers with waitlist tickets. The passengers will get the first update on waitlist status well in advance," read the official statement. Alongside the early charting initiative, Indian Railways is set to launch a modernised Passenger Reservation System (PRS) by December 2025. The upgrade is being developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) to streamline ticketing operations and enhance user experience. Once implemented, the upgraded PRS will be able to process over 1.5 lakh ticket bookings per minute, marking a nearly fivefold jump from the current capacity of 32,000 bookings per minute. Alongside this change, the Railways will make Aadhaar authentication mandatory for online Tatkal bookings through the IRCTC website starting July 1, 2025. For offline bookings at PRS counters and through agents, Aadhaar-based OTP verification will be required from July 15, according to an official statement. Officials said these changes are part of a broader initiative to modernise the ticketing system, reduce touting, and improve berth allocation efficiency. First Published: June 29, 2025, 19:00 IST
