Varanasi: To fulfill condition laid by his family to find a job before getting married, a man from Madhya Pradesh convinced them that he had been appointed as a railway travel ticket examiner by showing them a forged identity card and a lanyard with the mark of Indian Railways he had bought for Rs 350.

Following this, his marriage with a girl from Sasaram, Bihar was solemnised
In a joint action by govt railway police Varanasi Junction (Cantt) and railway protection force, the imposter, Adarsh Jaiswal (25) from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested on Friday evening.
Inspector Rajoul Nagar of GRP said on Saturday that the joint team of GRP and RPF caught Jaiswal near foot overbridge of platform-1 of Varanasi Junction and recovered from him a fake identity card of a TTE, along with a smartphone, Northern Railway Tatkal ticket booking form and Rs 570 cash.
Posing as a travel ticket examiner, he had been selling fake travel tickets and extorting money from passengers travelling without ticket at railway stations between Varanasi and Gaya.
He came on the radar of GRP and RPF after he sold two fake sleeper class tickets to a woman recently.
When she arrived to board the train, it came to light that no such compartment was attached to it and she filed a complaint.
Railway police started searching for him. Three days back, when he sold another fake ticket to a person, the latter checked its PNR and alerted govt railway police.
Following these developments, apart from GRP and railway protection force, Central Bureau of Investigation personnel too swung into action and arrested him on Friday evening.

Rachakonda police recover 1,130 stolen phones in Hyderabad worth Rs 3.5 crore
In a significant crackdown against mobile phone thefts in the city, officials from the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate in Hyderabad have recovered 1,130 stolen or lost mobile phones over the course of the last two months. The recovered mobile phones are valued at around Rs 3.5 crores. Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Sudheer Babu, stated that a total of 3,694 mobile phones have been recovered from the Rachakonda Commissionerate area so far this year. Major cyber scam busted, five held
Puducherry cyber police has busted an online racket where scamsters planted fake advertisements of reputed entities on social media platforms and collected money for various products before vanishing without a trace. Since January this year alone, the racketeers had defrauded victims across various States to the tune of Rs. 10 crore. Five persons have been arrested in this connection, a press note from the police department said. The fraud came to light when a city resident lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime that he had been duped into shelling out Rs.30,97,264 to a person who had contacted him impersonating as the dealers of Vizag Steel Sales company and offered to deliver the product at low cost. However, after payment, the fraudster became incommunicado. Based on the complaint, a case was registered by Inspector of Police of CCPS, under various sections of the relevant Acts. During the investigation it was ascertained that the swindled money was transferred into various bank accounts in Bihar. As part of investigation, various cyber tools and open source cyber tools have been utilised to identify the accused who was tracked to be in Madhya Pradhesh. On the instruction of Nithya SSP, Cyber Crime and the guidelines of S. Bascarane, SP (Wireless, Cyber Crime) and S. Diagaradjane, Cyber Crime Inspector, a cyber team led by B.C. Kirtty, Inspector of Police and associates Manimozhi, Vinoth, Vinothkumar and Balaji proceeded to Madhya Pradhesh. By then, the accused escaped from there and gone Jharkhand. When the team pursued him to Jharkhand, the culprit fled to Bihar. Finally, the police arrested five persons--- Rahulkumar Singh, Uttam Vishal Kumar, Rayushan Kumar and Abhishek Kumar from Bihar and Dayand Gowda belonging to Bengaluru, the press note said. During the course of investigation, police seized Rs. 34 lakh in cash, 30 mobile phones six debit cards and other materials. Investigations revealed that the accused colluded with each other since 2019 scamming cheated all over India for more people from West Bengal, Maharastra, Telangana, Andhra Pradhesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradhesh, Uttar Pradhesh and Odisha in the pretext of various modus operandi like The modus operandi was to creating fake advertisements on Facebook and other platforms using the names of genuine companies (e.g., Jindal Steel & Power, Vizag Steel Plant, JSW, Zuari Cement, Dhani Loan Processing, Lal Qila Basmati Rice, etc.). The police has unearthed details of about 5,000 persons who contacted them for the orders. It is now proposed to conduct a detailed enquiry regarding the bank accounts used by the cyber fraudster and the amount which were credited by them through this scam, police said. The accused were produced before the Magistrate at a court in Patna and obtained transit warrant and brought to Puducherry. They were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Puducherry and remanded to judicial custody. Sathyasundaram, Deputy Inspector General of Police and Praveen Kumar Tripathi Senior Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime (I/C) lauded the meticulous work of the cyber team in nabbing the scamsters who had been evading the law for long. The cyber police has cautioned the public against indulging unknown persons offering products or job openings on social media sites or establishing contact from unfamiliar numbers. ‘Fired From Job': Woman Drove Her Car On Hyderabad Railway Track To End Life
Last Updated: In the video clip, the woman was seen driving a Kia Sonet on the railway tracks The woman, aged 22-25, seen driving her car directly on the railway tracks from Shankarpally to Hyderabad last week was allegedly attempting to end her life due to personal reasons, said police sources. Railway personnel chased the woman for some distance until she eventually steered the car off the tracks, crashing into nearby trees and coming to a halt. In the video clip, the woman was seen driving a Kia Sonet on the railway tracks. Sri Anjaneyulu, Head Constable of the local police at Shankarpalli, along with his staff, reached the spot, took the woman into custody, and brought her to the Shankarpalli Police Station. 'She was fired from the job and her car was on loan. She left her bag somewhere else and wrote with marker pen that it's not suicide, but murder," sources said. She holds a postgraduate degree in Biotechnology and has been unemployed for the past eight months. 'NO SUSPICION OF SABOTAGE' There is currently no suspicion of sabotage. The matter remains under investigation by GRP/Vikarabad. The Government Railway Police (GRP), Vikarabad, upon receiving a written complaint from SSE/ registered a case vide Cr. No. 102/2025 under Sections 126, 292, 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 153 of the Railways Act and took up further investigation. The woman was produced before a doctor of Osmania hospital by the GRP/Vikarabad. After examination, the doctor referred her to the Government Mental Health Centre, Erragadda. Accordingly, the IRP Line and staff escorted her to the said hospital.
