Jake Paul takes on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr tonight as he attempts to move a step closer to a world title shot with victory over the Mexican
Jake Paul takes on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr tonight in what could be the social media star's toughest fight to date.
Paul insists he has what it takes to become a boxing world champion and beating Chavez Jr would take him a step closer to his goal. The Mexican, who has understandably struggled to follow in his famous father's footsteps, did reign as middleweight world champion but will be taking on Paul at cruiserweight.
Paul will go into the fight as the bookmakers' favourite, but Chavez Jr will be confident he has the tools to cause an upset in California. But before tonight's main event, there is plenty of action on what is a packed undercard, and here, we take a look at the fights in depth...
Main card
Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr - 4.30am
Jake Paul claims to be the face of boxing and will have to dispatch Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in style if he is to back up that bold, perhaps ludicrous, claim. Paul has not faced a 'proper' boxer since he took on Tommy Fury more than two years ago and faces a big step up in competition from 58-year-old Mike Tyson whom he outpointed last November. But Chavez Jr has been inactive, fighting just once in the last four years as he laboured to victory over former UFC star Uriah Hall.
Gilberto Ramirez vs Yuniel Dorticos - 3.30am
Gilberto Ramirez could be the man to hand Jake Paul his dream world title shot if both men win their respective fights tonight. Before Paul takes to the ring to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Ramirez will defend his cruiserweight world title against Yuniel Dorticos, a former champion himself. Ramirez has won three fights in a row since suffering his only career defeat against Dmitry Bivol and will start as the favourite tonight.
Floyd Schofield vs Tevin Farmer - 2.30am
Floyd Schofield should have taken on Shakur Stevenson earlier this year but pulled out in fight week after falling ill. He will take on veteran Tevin Farmer tonight instead and will be looking to put on a show to ensure he can land another big fight. Schofield puts his unbeaten record on the line against Farmer who has lost his last three fights and who will be desperate to bounce back in style.
Avious Griffin vs Julian Rodriguez - 1.45am
These two have just one defeat between them in 40 fights, meaning there is plenty on the line tonight. Avious Griffin is yet to taste defeat in his career, winning each of his 17 bouts and stopping all but one of his opponents. Julian Rodriguez has fought just three times since losing to Jose Pedraza in 2021 and will need to win tonight to put some momentum back into his career.
Raul Curiel vs Victor Ezequiel Rodriguez - 1am
Two undefeated fighters kick off the pay-per-view portion of the fight card with both men winning all but one of their fights - drawing the other. Raul Curiel was held to a draw in his last fight just before Christmas while Victor Ezequiel Rodriguez has won four fights since his only blemish in 2023.
Undercard fights
Holly Holm vs Yolanda Guadalupe Vega Ochoa Victor Morales vs Rene Alvarado Joel Iriarte vs Kevin Johnson Joshua Edwards vs Dominicc Hardy John Ramirez vs Joahnys Argilagos Alexander Gueche vs Vincent Avina

Ronda Rousey's shocking reaction to brutal Power Slap knockout goes viral
Combat sports legend Ronda Rousey 's eye enlarged and jaw extended as far as it could go, with her hand in front of her mouth, as she witnessed a brutal Power Slap knockout. The UFC 's inaugural Women's Bantamweight Champion was sitting in the front row at Power Slap 13 on Friday night in Las Vegas, watching all the action from mere feet away. It was during the bout between Stunt Marshall and Dontae Smiley where Ronda could not believe what she saw. A left-handed, open-palm blow from Marshall sent Smiley limp, with the resounding contact jarring his head straight into the table separating them and quickly onto the ground. Smiley's body stayed limp while being helped by medical professionals, as he was guided to lie flat on the mat. Rousey's shocked look did not leave her face for several seconds, as she looked to her left to see if others were disturbed by the action as much as she was. It was the Power Slap debut for Marshall, who has a combat-sports pedigree in common with Rousey. Rousey is the only professional wrestler to main-event an all-female premium event, entitled Evolution, and WrestleMania - wrestling against Nikki Bella, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch in those matches. Marshall is an independent professional wrestler, competing mainly in the southeastern United States. Rousey last fought in the UFC in 2016 and left the WWE in 2022, choosing to have a life away from combat sports in recent years. Yet, she could not pick her jaw up off the floor for several seconds after Smiley went down.

He said: "I think it's back to the drawing board after this, especially depending on what the WBC and WBA rank me after I win. "If they rank me in the position where I can go for a world championship, then we're gonna try and get that done." Paul - who has called out Anthony Joshua to fight in a British stadium - knows his brags of fighting for a world title will rile up boxing fans. He knows it is also why plenty will pay the pay-per-view fee in the hope he gets silenced in the the ring once and for all.
