Tyson Fury was forced to step into ring with Daniel Dubois after 'awkward' gym incident with family member
Tyson Fury will be watching closely when Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk collide in their heavyweight unification showdown at Wembley.
The Gypsy King has a vested interest in Saturday's bout, as he could potentially face Usyk in a trilogy fight next April. There is also the chance of a future bout with Dubois, with both boxers managed by Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions.
However, Warren has admitted his hesitation about having two of his fighters go head-to-head, saying this week: "It is not a fight I'd like to see for obvious reasons."
Despite Warren's reservations, the idea of a Fury vs Dubois match-up excites many boxing fans, especially given their past interactions and jibes they've traded. Fury, coming off consecutive defeats to Usyk, has held back in his comments about Dubois before Saturday's Wembley event.
He told Boxing News:"If I did come back, hypothetically speaking, if I was to return and box Daniel Dubois, I would box that motherf*****'s ears off.
"He wouldn't land a glove on me, it would be a one-sided beat-down. I wish him luck in his fight against Usyk, but styles make fights and his style and my style don't gel. I would absolutely annihilate him."
Dubois, who suffered a contentious defeat to Usyk in 2023 after a disputed low blow decision, is at the pinnacle of his career. The Londoner currently holds the IBF world title after his stunning knockout victory over Anthony Joshua last year.
Dynamite has previously sparred with Fury, once sharing memories of the sessions. Fury wasn't scheduled to face Dubois, but he stepped in to defend his family's honour.
"It's a long story, isn't it? I went up to spar his cousin, Hughie," Dubois told SecondsOut in 2022. "I put him down in sparring, and then he [Tyson] jumped in for a round. They all know who I am."
When asked if he had also knocked down Tyson in the gym, Dubois appeared to confirm it was only Hughie. He also hinted that he hadn't given his all against the older Fury.
He added: "He was awkward back then, you know? And at the time, I don't think I was going all out. I was, sort of, in awe or whatever. It's all experience isn't it?"
Dubois, 27, insists he would like to see Fury return to the ring following his latest retirement. He told Ring magazine:"I think he will come back.
"Seeing all the belts on the line, I think he'll fancy it. He'll come out [of retirement] for sure. That's what I want. We need the heavyweight division to be healthy, for us fighters to get up for a real mega fight like that. That would be a mega fight. That's what you want."
But Fury, who was stripped of the IBF title in December 2015, would be reluctant to face Dubois for that particular belt. He told iFL TV last year: "I'll beat Daniel Dubois, but I won't be boxing him for his belt. I'd rather box him for the British title than the IBF.
"I don't want anything to do with it. You couldn't give it to me as a present. I'd probably get it and put it on YouTube and burn it."

Many within the boxing community have blasted the gathering - which was reportedly put on Dubois' father Stand - as a 'disruptive' interference with the heavyweight star's day. 'Triple D' sparked fears after he pulled up to Wembley Stadium just after 8:20pm - 90 minutes before he was scheduled to make the walk to the ring. Dubois went on to suffer a brutal knockout defeat in the fifth round. The Brit struggled to get into the fight. And - despite having some success in the fourth round - was dropped with a right hand before being sent crashing to the canvas seconds later with a stinging left, which forced the referee to wave off the fight. Prior to his bout with Usyk, footage has emerged of Dubois' dad throwing a party in his Essex home just hours before the fight. It has been reported that around 70 people attended the bash - some of whom 'Triple D' didn't even know. A video - which has gone viral online - shows Dubois being mobbed by partygoers at his house while music plays in the background. Further reports state that the 27-year-old left the home and briefly went for a quick drive. His father later drove him to Wembley after private cars - which were accredited to enter the area around the national stadium - were used to transport guests to the venue. That only delayed Dubois' arrival as the car they travelled in was not accredited and he did not get into the venue until 90 minutes before the scheduled ring walk time. Usyk turned up slightly earlier to watch his good friend and teammate Daniel Lapin compete on the undercard. There were also chaotic scenes when entering the venue over getting some of those party guests into the venue with Dubois held up in the middle of it all. Speaking on talkSPORT, Joseph Parker, Lawrence Okolie and Spencer Oliver were all left stunned by the reports. "That is insanely disruptive," said Joseph Parker. "I'm very surprised, I'm shocked. That many people over? You're preparing for a massive fight. You need rest, you need to chill, you need to get in the zone, and he's got this big party happening." Lawrence Okolie concurred: "The problem is, it's coming from someone that he looks (to) out of the ring. It's coming from his dad. I've trained with him, his dad's a huge part of his life, so that is obviously going to be disruptive," while Spencer Oliver added: "We're talking about fighters being regimental and superstitious on the day, some fighters want to wear a ring in their laces and all that stuff. It all has to be on point for you to go in there, any little thing can throw you off track." When is Daniel Dubois' next fight? Whether the constant delays on the day of the fight affected Dubois' performance remains to be seen. As for what's next for the young Brit, his promoter Frank Warren has advised 'Triple D' to take six months off and learn from Usyk's mental resilience if he wants to make it back to the top. Warren stated: "You've got to learn from defeats, I mean that's what life's about, isn't it? You know, not everything goes your way, you got to come back, it's the mark of a man if he can do it, and we'll see if he could do it. "He's got to resurrect himself. That's what we've had to do. That's the story. Usyk a quality, quality fighter, he has a great boxing IQ, and he's got the most unbelievable mental attitude. That's what makes him. That's what Daniel's got to learn from. Try and get and develop the mental attitude that Usyk has."

'Broken' British tennis star breaks silence after being hit with FOUR-YEAR doping ban
British tennis star Tara Moore has blasted the sport's 'broken' anti-doping system and claimed her life has been 'ripped away' after her four-year doping ban was upheld. The former British No 1 doubles player also maintained her innocence while revealing she is 'broken' after 'fighting for her life' and being 'failed' by 'organisations and people in power'. The 32-year-old received the ban in 2022 after prohibited substances nandrolone and boldenone were found in positive tests Moore underwent during a tournament in Bogota, Colombia. She was handed an immediate ban but was cleared by an independent tribunal 19 months later, who ruled the anabolic steroids had entered her bloodstream via contaminated meats eaten in the days before her initial urine test. But last week, Moore had her ban upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after an appeal by the International Tennis Integrity Agency. She will be unable to compete for four years minus the 19 months she served while provisionally suspended. Tara Moore said her life has been 'ripped away' after her four-year doping ban was upheld 'The last three-and-a-half years have broken me into so many pieces,' Moore said in a statement on social media. 'As my family and friends have scrambled to pick up the broken shards of me, they've glued me back together in the form of a different person. 'I don't need a panel to tell me I'm innocent. I know the integrity I bring and I know I am innocent. I believe everyone over the past couple of years can see how subjective this process is. 'I have been the underdog. I have had my life as I knew it ripped away from me because the organisations and people in power failed to do what was right. They may have taken my fight away on the court, yet my fight is not over, not for me or others like me. 'The anti-doping system is broken. I am proof of this. We need to fix it. Not for me as it's too late, but for future players who find themselves in this unfortunate situation. I have so much more to say when the time is right.' Moore had argued that boldenone and nandrolone were found in her sample after she consumed beef and/or pork while in Colombia. But a Cas statement said: 'After reviewing the scientific and legal evidence, the majority of the Cas panel considered that the player did not succeed in proving that the concentration of nandrolone in her sample was consistent with the ingestion of contaminated meat. 'The panel concluded that Ms Moore failed to establish that the ADRV (Anti-Doping Rule Violation) was not intentional. The appeal by the ITIA is therefore upheld and the decision rendered by the Independent Tribunal is set aside.' The verdict from Cas' March hearing into the appeal now means that the British player will be unable to return to competition until the start of the 2028 season. Moore previously shared a heartfelt statement in the wake of the decision as she decried the '19 months of lost time' that waiting for the hearing's verdict that she 'bore no fault or negligence' had stolen from her. It comes amid ongoing controversy over doping bans in tennis. Wimbledon winner Jannik Sinner was given a three-month suspension earlier this year after the World Anti-Doping Agency appealed the initial verdict that Sinner bore 'no fault or negligence' after clostebol entered his body via a cut on the hand of his physio that had been treated with the banned substance. There has been significant debate over the perceived leniency of his punishment, which allowed Sinner to return in time to compete at the French Open - where he reached the final - without missing any Grand Slam tournaments. World No 3 Iga Swiatek was similarly subject to debate over special treatment after she was handed her one-month suspension in November 2024 - having competed in tournaments after August's positive test. Since returning to the tour in April 2024, Moore has frequently spoken out against what she believed was preferential treatment shown to Swiatek. Both Sinner and Swiatek were victorious at Wimbledon with the Italian claiming his first Wimbledon Championship and Swiatek her sixth Grand Slam title.
