Once a month, I book an appointment at the nail salon for a gel manicure. I always get the same colour – OPI GelColor in Big Apple Red – and I never get a gel pedicure. I'm not sure why (I think, maybe, the foot baths freak me out) but I prefer to paint my toenails at home. Matching them to my gel polish is easy – OPI's luscious red shade also comes in nail polish formula – but I like to switch it up in sandal season too.
Ahead, I've listed five of my favourite pedicure colours for summer, from a sheer nude from Essie to an orangey red from OPI.
Sheer nude
Nothing looks more polished than a nude pedicure, but it can be quite tricky to find a neutral shade that suits your skin tone. My go-to is Sheer Fantasy, a sheer pink nail polish, from Essie's Gel Couture range. Finish with a lick of the top coat and it will last up to two weeks.
Black cherry
One of the coolest pedicure colours of the season is a near-black, cherry red. Rouge Noir from Chanel has been a cult favourite since the mid 90s – and for good reason. The glossy shade is perfect for nailing this trend, and lasts at least a week chip-free.
Yellow chrome
I might not have nail artist Zola Ganzorigt on speed dial to replicate Hailey Bieber 's yellow chrome manicure, but I do have Manucurist's nail polish in the shade Lemonade. It's a pale yellow with glittering highlights that will give your toenails that 'glazed' effect.

Milky white
In the summer, white polish looks extra chic against a pair of black leather flip flops, but I usually wait until I've got a bit of a tan. This glossy white from Sally Hansen called Get Mod requires a couple of coats for opacity, but can last up to two weeks if you apply the top coat.
Orangey red
I don't often steer away from OPI's Big Apple Red but when I do in the summer months, it's with OPI's Cajun Shrimp, a fiery coral red that pops against all my white and black linen dresses. Plus, its gel-like shine lasts up to two weeks.

Donald Trump kisses Melania at July 4th party

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump were caught kissing from the Truman Balcony on Friday ahead of Washington, D.C.'s grand Fourth of July fireworks display. The first couple kissed and hugged as supporters down below 'awww'-ed the scene. Trump hosted military families on the South Lawn for the occasion, marking the holiday with a picnic. Earlier in the night, he delivered a speech from the balcony before signing his 'Big Beautiful Bill' into law, as Congress made good on a promise to pass the mega piece of legislation before the Trump-imposed July 4 deadline. There were also a trio of military flyovers, including B-2 bombers, the stealth jets used in recent military action over Iran. The Trumps had slipped into the West Wing but returned to watch the annual fireworks display over the National Mall. The DJ played patriotic tunes — but also a number of eyebrow-raising pop songs from artists like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, who vocally supported Trump's Democratic rivals Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. Perry's song "Firework" was played. Other tracks included HOT TO GO! by Chappell Roan and Defying Gravity, sung by Cynthia Erivo in Wicked — both popular LGBTQ artists. A number of country hits were also in the mix. Audience members shouted 'four more years' and 'eight more years.' Trump is three and a half years into his second term and is Constitutionally ineligible to run again — despite some Republicans backing an amendment to allow it, citing his unique situation of serving two non-consecutive terms. His walk-on song, Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA," was played multiple times during the event. As the fireworks ended, YMCA played — Trump's traditional walk-off tune. He did his trademark dance and even got Melania to briefly join in, though neither performed the YMCA letter moves. The crowd included Cabinet members and Trump officials such as Joint Chiefs Chair Dan 'Razin' Caine, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, and EPA Secretary Lee Zeldin. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was photographed holding up the 'Big, Beautiful Bill' after Trump's signing. Wiles was seen in conversation with Katie Miller, wife of top adviser Stephen Miller, who worked for VP Mike Pence in the previous administration and has been working with Elon Musk in this one. After weeks of tension over the bill, Musk is now threatening to start a political party and support Republicans like Rep. Thomas Massie. Trump and Melania departed for their Bedminster, New Jersey golf resort after the celebration, with the president pumping his fist as they boarded Air Force One.

A journalist asked the world No61: "Some of the gossip has been about who Emma Raducanu is dating. "Can I ask if you are dating her? Can we get to the bottom of this please?" A perplexed Norrie replied: "Sorry?" The reporter then responded: "I am trying to find out who is dating Emma Raducanu. "It seems to be going around all the men's singles... I was wondering if you're dating her, please?" A clearly uncomfortable Norrie then said: "I'm not, no. You can ask her. I don't know." The 2022 Wimbledon semi-finalist is in a relationship with Louise Jacobi. Norrie reportedly met the New York-born textiles designer five years ago. Raducanu, who was defeated by world No1 Aryna Sabalenka last night, has played down her relationship with Alcaraz and claimed they are just good friends. Emma Raducanu giggles as she addresses Carlos Alcaraz relationship ahead of Wimbledon It comes after a source exclusively revealed to SunSport that the pair had a "spark" and arrived at the Queen's tournament last month within minutes of each other amid suggestions of spending cosy days together. On her bond with Alcaraz, Raducanu said: "I've known him for years. "Wimbledon 2021 was the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021. "We have a good relationship still. He's obviously overtaken me a lot, but it's nice that we have that from a while ago. "I think for all of us, we really kind of value those connections that we had from when we were young because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age because you're like, that's a real genuine connection. "Because it becomes very busy and you have a lot more friends but the ones that you've known for a long time mean a lot more to you." 4
