Mailula bids farewell to Wydad: Chiefs and Pirates on alert?
The 24-year-old forward recently left Wydad after joining them on loan from Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Toronto FC.
He recently competed for the Moroccan giants in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where he started two out of three Group G games and scored a goal in the process. In the 36 matches he played for Wydad, Mailula scored six times and provided seven assists.
The Bafana attacker took to social media to thank the club.
'Dear Wydad family, it is with a heavy heart that I write this message, as I want to let you all know that I will not be continuing with the team for the upcoming season. My time with Wydad has been an incredibly special and rewarding experience, and I will forever be grateful for it,' Mailula said on social media.
'I would like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. From the security staff to the technical team, to my teammates, your kindness and support have meant the world to me. You all hold a very special place in my heart.
'I must also thank the president for giving me the incredible opportunity to represent Wydad, and coach Rulani [Mokwena] for his unwavering belief in me. Without his trust, I wouldn't be the player I am today.
'I wish the club, the fans, and everyone involved nothing but continued success in the upcoming season and beyond. Dima Wydad,' he concluded.
Having left Wydad, Mailula is set to rejoin Toronto FC in the coming weeks in the MLS. The former Mamelodi Sundowns star still has a year left on his contract.

Wimbledon 2025: Alex Eala sows seeds for future success
There was a special accoutrement adorning Filipina star Alex Eala's hair as she walked onto Centre Court for her first round Wimbledon debut against defending champion Barbora Krejcikova. The white flower, whilst in keeping with Wimbledon's horticultural backdrop, has a special significance. The sampaguita is the national flower of the Philippines, where world No 56 Eala is from. But it is its significance that shows how much she lives and breathes by it, that has won the hearts of many more fans today despite her loss. Day 2, traditionally known as 'Ladies Day' on Wimbledon's Centre Court opened with world No 16 Barbora Krejcikova being pushed out of her comfort zone by Alex Eala, who took the first set with a dominant display of explosive leftie shot-making and impressive footwork. First of all, to just have something that reminds me of where I come from, of my country, and my culture out there on court, because I feel like that's what makes me special is where I come from.' Orlando Pirates: Appollis arrival intensifies Mofokeng exit talks
Orlando Pirates have announced the arrival of Polokwane City attacker Oswin Appollis after a year-long pursuit – a week after signing AmaZulu FC winger Tshepang Moremi. This comes amid growing speculation of a Relebohile Mofokeng exit, who has garnered interest from MLS club FC Cincinnati, Ah Ahly, and Zamalek FC.
