Support PKR election allegations with evidence, not sentiment
He said the Central Election Committee (JPP) had done its best to ensure that the leadership election for the 2025-2028 term is conducted fairly and transparently.
'The JPP has already conducted re-elections in several divisions where irregularities were found, and that itself is proof that the committee is trying its best. However, allegations on the matter continue to be made by those who are disappointed or still dissatisfied.
'A full report and audit of the division-level elections has already been presented to the central leadership recently,' he said at a press conference after officiating at the handover of the Raw Water Guarantee Scheme (SJAM) Project Package A and Package C here today.
Meanwhile, in Kelantan, state PKR chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor has urged party members to be mature and not sow discord among leaders.
'Anyone can contest, but we should support leaders who are capable of driving the party forward, especially during state or national elections.
'In my view, PKR members are mature enough to vote and choose those who are truly qualified to lead,' he told reporters after the 'Jom Masuk U' programme and the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Excellence Awards Ceremony for the Tanah Merah parliamentary constituency today.
The central leadership elections on May 23 will run from 8 am to 5 pm and will be conducted using two methods: physical voting by delegates of the Central Congress, the Central Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Congress and the Central Women's Congress, taking place at Berjaya Waterfront Hotel and Danga Bay Convention Centre in Johor Bahru.
For Sabah and Sarawak, physical voting will take place at the International Technology and Commercial Centre (ITCC) in Penampang and the Penview Convention Centre in Kuching. Regular and additional delegates for the Central, Central AMK and Central Women's Congresses will not need to attend in person as voting will be conducted online at the same date and time via the ADIL app.
The PKR National Congress, including the AMK and Women's Congresses, is scheduled to be held from May 22 to 24 in Johor Bahru.

As concerned youth leaders and citizens, Selangor MCA Youth is compelled to speak out against what we believe is political theatre that undermines rather than advances the cause of judicial independence. We refer to PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar's participation in the recent "Walk to Safeguard Judicial Independence" protest organised by the Malaysian Bar. While we respect the right of every Malaysian to voice their concerns, we find it questionable that someone of her position – both as the deputy president of the ruling party and the daughter of the Prime Minister – chooses to make her stand via a street demonstration. It should be highlighted that Nurul Izzah is not an opposition MP, nor an ordinary citizen. Wielding the second-highest post in PKR, Nurul has direct access to the top leadership, including her father, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. With such influence, shouldn't she be addressing these issues internally – within her party, her Cabinet, or even at her own dinner table? Are Nurul Izzah's actions a carefully choreographed political performance to appease public sentiment while avoiding real internal accountability? Or do they point to a breakdown of trust and communication within PKR and among her own family members? If the deputy president of a ruling party feels the need to protest against her own party leader and father in public, it raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of internal dialogue in PKR. Has internal communication completely broken down? Is there no space left for honest discourse within the party ranks? If Nurul Izzah is truly sincere in upholding judicial independence, then surely the proper course of action would be to speak up through institutional channels – the party platform, Cabinet committees or even directly to the Prime Minister himself. To jolt PKR's memory: Their party once recommended disciplinary action against Rafizi Ramli for internal dissent. Now that the deputy president herself is protesting publicly against her party's numero uno, will PKR apply the same standards? Or has political protest against one's own party become the new acceptable form of expression? The rakyat isn't looking for drama or street performances. Malaysians desire meaningful reform, transparency, and genuine political accountability. Pakatan MPs briefed on issues relating to judiciary, tribunal, says Fahmi
PUTRAJAYA: Pakatan Harapan MPs were briefed on various current issues, including the formation of a judicial tribunal, in a closed-door meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. The PKR information chief said MPs were also given an explanation regarding Article 125 of the Federal Constitution. He said the explanation was delivered by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said. Article 125 of the Federal Constitution refers to the appointment, dismissal and conditions of service of Federal Court, Court of Appeal and High Court Judges. "There was also (an explanation) regarding the formation of a tribunal and several related matters, that's all," he told the media after the meeting at Seri Perdana Complex, here on Monday (July 14). Fahmi, who is also Communications Minister, said further information regarding matters relating to the judiciary would be announced at the post-Cabinet press conference. Meanwhile, Fahmi said the nearly two-hour closed-door meeting session with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was well received by Pakatan MPs. PM says judicial appointments issue to be resolved soon — Hulu Langat MP
PUTRAJAYA: The issue concerning the appointments of the chief justice and the Court of Appeal president is expected to be resolved soon. Hulu Langat member of parliament Mohd Sany Hamzan, who attended a meeting between Pakatan Harapan members of parliament and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today, said the matter is likely to be settled soon, as the Conference of Rulers is scheduled to convene from tomorrow until Thursday. "The prime minister explained the appointment procedure in question. The matter involves the interests of the government and requires approval from the Conference of Rulers, as well as going through the procedures that have been set. "For example, in the issue of judicial appointments, it has to go through the Judicial Appointments Commission for deliberation, after which the names are submitted to the prime minister. "The prime minister then presents the names to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. "Subsequently, the King will consult the Conference of Rulers. Much of it revolves around that matter, giving us all a better understanding. "The prime minister also told us that the issue is expected to be resolved soon," he told reporters after the meeting. Sany said other issues that were also touched on during the meeting include the upcoming Dewan Rakyat session, which begins on July 21, the expanded Sales and Service Tax, and the electricity tariff. Last week, nine PKR MPs called for a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate what they claimed were irregularities in the appointment of senior judges, including the Chief Justice. They also wanted the proceedings and inquiry to be conducted by the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on Human Rights, Elections and Institutional Reform, and for top government officials to testify.
