Pakistan bans 27 YouTube channels for broadcasting 'anti-state content'
'The YouTube incharge officer is directed to block 27 YouTube channels,' the order stated, while also endorsing FIA's legal authority to act in the matter. The FIA reportedly began investigating the channels on June 2, and submitted what it called 'sufficient proof' before the court.Below is the list of YouTube channels identified in the court order:The list of channels identified in the court order includes that of Haider Mehdi, Siddique Jan, Sabeeq Kazmi, Orya Maqbool Jan, Arzoo Kazmi, Rana Uzair Speaks, Sajid Gondal, Habib Akram, Matiullah Jan, Asad Toor, Imran Riaz Khan, Naya Pakistan, Sabir Shakir, Imran Khan, Aftab Iqbal, Reel Entertainment TV, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Daily Qudrat, Qadir Qadri, Chandasai Journalists, Naila Pakistani Reaction, Wajahat Saeed Khan, Ahmad Noorani, Nazar Chohan, Moeed Pirzada, Makhdoom Shahab ud Din and Shayan Ali. CHANNELS FACING TECHNICAL BLOCKS, EXILE AND THREATS In recent months, several Pakistani YouTubers have complained of shadow bans, restricted reach, or complete inaccessibility of their content within Pakistan. Some content creators have fled the country, continuing to broadcast from abroad over fears of arrest or even forced disappearances, often attributed to Pakistan's deep state.EXPERTS SAY BLOCKING NEEDS YOUTUBE'S HELPHowever, technical experts say such bans may not be fully effective unless YouTube's own management cooperates with the government to block or geofence the channels.'YouTube cannot be unilaterally blocked by a court without the platform being involved,' said a senior IT consultant, calling the move more symbolic than effective unless enforced at platform level.IRONY: PAKISTAN BLOCKS ITS OWN VOICESThe development comes at a time when India has banned several Pakistani YouTube channels for misinformation and propaganda. Now, Pakistan is banning its own citizens' YouTube channels for allegedly pushing out anti-state content. Notably, Arzoo Kazmi's channel is now banned in both India and Pakistan. - EndsTune InMust Watch

‘Pakistan requires Mujahid…': Masood Azhar rants afresh, ‘10,000 fidayeens ready for jihad'
Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar was reportedly heard boasting about a 30,000-strong cadre and claiming that '10,000 fidayeen are ready for jihad,' according to a report, citing an audio of the terror outfit chief played at a Bahawalpur mosque in Pakistan read more Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar was reportedly heard boasting about a 30,000-strong cadre and claiming that '10,000 fidayeen are ready for jihad,' according to a report, citing an audio of the terror outfit chief played at a Bahawalpur mosque in Pakistan. 'The funds given to Mujahid will be used for Jihad… Pakistan requires Mujahid's blessings as much as big religious leaders do. We have fidayeens, no force or missile can arrest them. We have a cadre of 30,000. Jaish has 10,000 fidayeens ready for jihad,' News 18 quoted Masood Azhar as saying in the audio clip. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Masood Azhar, a UN-designated terrorist, has been linked to several major attacks in India, including the 2001 Parliament attack, the 26/11 Mumbai strikes, the 2016 Pathankot airbase assault, and the 2019 Pulwama suicide bombing. He was released from Indian custody in 1999 in exchange for hostages following the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 to Kandahar. According to News18, citing intelligence sources, the recent audio clip featuring Azhar signals a deliberate move by Pakistan to reactivate a dormant terror asset, particularly after the setback it suffered during 'Operation Sindoor'. The messaging also aligns with Pakistan's reported efforts to intensify its proxy war amid the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, aiming to destabilise internal peace and target the sacred pilgrimage. 'Azhar's reference to funding for Mujahideen is not mere rhetoric; it is a coded call for financing upcoming attacks, potentially involving foreign sympathisers and hawala routes. This aligns with recent intercepts indicating a revival of terror financing chains in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Gulf regions,' News 18 quoted the sources as saying, adding that Pakistani agencies are reportedly recycling defunct terror figures like Azhar to reorganise sleeper cells and assert dominance through symbolic threats. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The glorification of fidayeen in Masood Azhar's recent mosque address reflects a shift in Pakistan's terror strategy — moving from cross-border infiltration to promoting lone-wolf and suicide attacks, especially as traditional infiltration routes have been blocked, reported News 18, citing intelligence sources. There is also rising reliance on newly reactivated madrassa networks in southern Punjab and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the sources added. The use of mosque loudspeakers to amplify messages from UN-designated terrorists, they noted, is further proof of state complicity in promoting banned figures. India has consistently pressed for the extradition of Masood Azhar and Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed, both listed as global terrorists by the UN. However, Pakistan continues to deny sheltering them, despite mounting evidence of their presence on its soil. In a recent interview with Al Jazeera, Pakistani politician Bilawal Bhutto Zardari claimed that Islamabad has 'no knowledge' of Azhar's whereabouts — and said the government would be willing to arrest him if India provides what he described as 'credible evidence.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'If and when the Indian government shares information with us that he is on Pakistani soil, we would be more than happy to arrest him," Bilawal Bhutto was quoted as saying, adding, 'The fact is, the Indian government is not." Submitted additional evidence against Tahawwur Rana in fresh charge sheet: NIA
NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) said on Wednesday that the supplementary charge sheet filed against Tahawwur Rana - accused number 2 in agency's 26/11 Mumbai attacks larger conspiracy probe - pertains to the submission of documents regarding Rana's extradition and the additional evidence collected by it. 26/11 Mumbai attack accused, Tahawwur Rana (ANI FILE PHOTO) 'The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy hatched by David Coleman Headley, Tahawwur Hussain Rana and other members of LeT and HUJI to carry out terrorist attacks in different parts of India. The supplementary chargesheet pertains to the submission of documents regarding the extradition of accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana and additional evidence collected by NIA,' the agency said in a statement on Wednesday. To be sure, NIA filed the main charge sheet against Rana and nine other co-conspirators including David Coleman Headley and LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, way back in 2011. After filing the fresh charge sheet, NIA said in compliance with a June 6 court order, it has 'submitted a compliance report under Section 207 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) regarding the supply of documents related to the earlier chargesheet filed in 2011'. Rana was named as an accused by NIA in its charge sheet filed in 2011 along with Headley (currently in the US) six conspirators in Pakistan - Hafiz Muhammad Saeed (Lashkar-e-Taiba chief), Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi (operations chief of LeT), Sajid Majeed alias Sajid Mir (a top commander of LeT), Abdur Rehman Hashim Syed alias Pasha (a retired major in the Pakistani military), Major Iqbal and Major Sameer Ali (both ISI officers); and two others - LeT's former deputy head and Hafiz Saeed's brother-in-law Abdul Rehman Makki (who died in Lahore in December last year) and Ilyas Kashmiri (leader of al-Qaeda and its Pakistan-based affiliate Harkat-ul Jihad Islami) killed in a US drone strike in June 2011. Hafiz Saeed was handed out a 78-year jail term in Pakistan in 2020 following US pressure, but Indian officials say that 'he was under the protection of the ISI and freely carries out his group's terror activities'. Similarly, Sajid Mir was said to be arrested and given an eight-year jail term but not much is known about his whereabouts. Lakhvi was also sentenced in 2021 to three consecutive five-year sentences for terror-funding, but Indian agencies believe that he continued to remain active. No action has ever been taken against the two ISI and one military officer. 'Seven out of 10 conspirators were based in Pakistan at the time of 26/11 attacks, from planning stage to managing the control room. We sent letters of request (letter rogatories) to Pakistan government seeking information and evidence against them but till date, there is no cooperation,' said a senior officer, who asked not to be named. Rana's friend David Coleman Headley, who conducted the reconnaissance of the targets in Mumbai during multiple visits to India, is currently serving a 35-year jail term in the US. A medical officer in the Pakistan Army, Rana moved to Canada in 1990 and eventually acquired citizenship. He then shifted to Chicago and opened a consultancy firm. According to Indian agencies, Rana opened a branch of his firm in Mumbai and used it to help Headley gather information about potential targets in Mumbai. During the court proceedings at various stages, federal prosecutors have argued that Rana was aware that his childhood friend was involved with LeT and that by assisting him and affording him cover for his activities, he was supporting the terrorist organisation and its associates.
