Danger ahead? Paytm boss Vijay Shekhar Sharma shares AI-powered vedic astrology warning on air travel
Amid a spate of aviation mishaps , Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has turned to Vedic astrology—powered by AI—for insight into the risks associated with air travel. Taking to social media platform X, Sharma shared a screenshot of an astrological analysis generated by AI. According to the post, the period from now until November 2025 is marked as a "Danger Zone" due to certain planetary alignments. 'What's Happening: Rahu in Pisces, Saturn Retrograde, Mars transits Outcome: Risky,' the analysis read. Live Events — vijayshekhar (@vijayshekhar) The phase from November 2025 to March 2026 is described as a "Transition" period, during which Rahu shifts to Aquarius and Saturn goes direct—potentially bringing gradual improvement. Post March 2026, the analysis forecasts a "Safer Phase" as there are "no major malefic influences." Explaining the underlying factors, the post stated: 'Rahu in Pisces (Meena) – until Nov 2025. Why it's important: Rahu rules illusion, machinery, and technology. In Pisces—the sign of oceans, skies, and dissolution—it creates confusion in water and air travel.' The potential effects include foggy decisions, technical failures, and hidden threats such as engine issues and miscommunication. The post sparked mixed reactions online. One X user commented, 'Interesting—let's see if those astrological trends align with real-world aviation shifts.' Another sarcastically quipped, '100 out of 99 of your tweets aren't relevant to Paytm.' Ironically, Sharma's post came on the same day as a tragic crash in Bangladesh, where at least 19 people were killed after a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into a school. In another devastating incident last month, 260 people died in India when an Air India aircraft crashed into a medical college hostel in Ahmedabad. A string of other engine failures and aviation-related scares in recent weeks has only deepened public anxiety around air travel—making Sharma's astrological warning all the more timely, whether you believe in the stars or not.

January proved to be the strongest month, registering 10.56 lakh tourists, including 9.86 lakh domestic and nearly 70,000 foreign arrivals. February followed with 9.05 lakh tourists, comprising 8.44 lakh domestic and over 61,000 international travellers. March saw a footfall of 8.89 lakh tourists, with 8.32 lakh from within India and around 56,000 from abroad. Despite the onset of summer, tourism activity remained consistent, the tourism department said. In April, Goa received 8.42 lakh visitors, including 8.14 lakh domestic and 28,000 international arrivals, followed by 9.27 lakh tourists in May, comprising 8.97 lakh domestic and nearly 30,000 foreign visitors. June recorded 8.34 lakh total arrivals, with 8.08 lakh from India and around 25,000 international visitors. Live Events Kedar Narik, director of tourism the boom is the result of a 'multi-pronged' approach adopted by the state. "We have intensified promotional campaigns in key source markets, both domestic and global, participated in leading travel trade exhibitions, and launched innovative marketing initiatives under the 'Regenerative Tourism' umbrella. These efforts have enhanced visibility and reinforced Goa's image not just as a beach destination, but one that offers a diverse array of experiences, from hinterland trails and heritage walks to spiritual and wellness retreats," he added. The state's tourism department said Goa's presence at national and international travel trade fairs, its emphasis on cultural and monsoon tourism, spiritual circuits, and hinterland trails, coupled with the hosting of large-scale festivals and sporting events, has helped attract a wide spectrum of travellers. The rising number of foreign tourists, particularly from the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia, is also attributed to better flight connectivity and a more seamless travel experience. The department of tourism said it expects the upward trend to continue through the second half of the year. Economic Times WhatsApp channel )

With her passing, the death toll in this year's Amarnath Yatra has risen to 15. Pilgrimage operations on both routes remain temporarily suspended due to unsafe weather conditions. Authorities have deployed rescue and relief teams and urged pilgrims to exercise caution as they work on clearing debris and restoring safe access.
