Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea told reporters that the stabbings occurred near the checkout area and appeared to be random. He said ordinary citizens helped detain the suspect, who was wielding 'a standard holding knife-style weapon.'
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said, 'FBI personnel are responding to provide any necessary support to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office in their investigation of the attacks at the Walmart.'
