In a backstage segment, Charlotte Flair had a talk with Nick Aldis. The duo had a discussion on Flair joining for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. Flair hesitated initially. After much consideration, the wrestler accepted the proposal.
Aldis immediately booked Flair and her partner Alexa Bliss for a No. 1 Contender match. The duo faced the Secret Service and Michin & B-Fab in a triple-threat match. Bliss led their team to a victory.
Both Flair and Bliss have now earned a chance at earning the tag team titles. The unexpected pair-up shocked the audience with their coordination in the match.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won the previous tag team title.
However, Morgan will be out due to an injury. During the SmackDown taping, Rodriguez found a replacement. Roxanne Perez's name was floated as a replacement. The replacement was confirmed by RAW and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis. The duo, Perez and Rodriguez, will now have to face three other teams in a fatal 4-way match. The other teams will be from RAW, NXT and SmackDown.
The managers stated, 'We will allow it. But under one condition. Raquel and Roxanne, they are gonna have to justify the decision. So they are gonna have to prove to us and the world that they are worthy champions. So in two weeks, at evolution, they are gonna defend the title against a team from RAW, a team from SmackDown and a team from NXT.'
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have already qualified for the tag team match. The other two teams are yet to be announced. The Fatal 4-Way Match has been scheduled for July 13, 2025.

After he experienced a major rise in popularity, tensions began between him and Solo, which ultimately led to them falling apart. Things became worse for Fatu as he lost his WWE United States title to Sikoa at the 2025 Night of Champions Premium Live Event, due to the interference of his new and improved Bloodline. On this week's edition, the Samoan Werewolf was left lifeless by the pack of wolves at the end of the show. Jacob Fatu teamed up with Jimmy Uso to defeat Solo Sikoa and J.C. Matteo on WWE SmackDown As the July 4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown began, Jacob Fatu attacked the Bloodline members as they arrived outside the venue, with WWE personnel intervening. Later on, Nick Aldis told The Samoan Werewolf that he would need a partner to get his hands on Solo Sikoa and J.C. Matteo in a tag team match scheduled for the main event. Jimmy Uso, who has also been a foe to the faction, agreed to align with Fatu for the bout. The two sides of The Bloodline clashed in an epic tag showdown on SmackDown. The match had the fans captivated right from the start till the very end of the showdown. As the match came down to its final moments, it was the Samoan Werewolf who planted Solo Sikoa with a DDT and followed it up with a Moonsault to pick up the win for his team. However, the former WWE United States Champion was not done. He continued the attack on Solo Sikoa and was about to put him through the announcer's desk. Just then, Tonga Loa and Tala Tonga came to their leader's aid alongside J.C. Matteo and attacked Jacob Fatu. They put the final nail in the coffin by putting Fatu through a table with a triple powerbomb. Solo Sikoa and his mercenaries stood tall as WWE SmackDown came to a close. With Jacob Fatu losing his US title and being heavily outnumbered by the Bloodline, things will not be easy for The Samoan Werewolf moving forward.
