He said, 'I'm delighted to have won my very first tournament as a professional. It's a big confidence-booster for my professional career. I just stuck to the basics this week and hit a lot of fairways and greens. My chipping and putting were also exceptional. I made some very crucial par-saves on the last two holes, thanks to my solid putting that saw me home.'
He added, 'I thank BS Gill, president of the Forest Hill Golf and Country Club, who has been a great source of support. I would also like to thank my home course, SEPTA, Chandimandir, as well as the Panchkula Golf Club, for supporting me.'
Muthu R made one birdie, five bogeys and a double-bogey during his last round of 68 to finish second.
Lucknow's Rajesh Kumar Gautam continues to lead the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit with season's earnings of ₹4,29,600.

Sable suffers 'minor injury' during Monaco DL, will be 'fine' in 1-2 weeks: coach
New Delhi, Jul 13 (PTI) Seasoned Indian steeplechaser Avinash Sable sustained a minor injury due to a nasty fall during the Monaco Diamond League two days back but he will be all right in quick time, his long-time coach Amrish Kumar said on Sunday. Asian Games champion and national record holder Sable failed to finish the men's 3000m steeplechase event on Friday as he fell down during the water jump early in the race. He was seen clutching his lower thigh area just at the back of the knee as he left the race. "Sable has suffered a minor injury around the knee. He will take rest and he should be all right in one or two weeks at the maximum. It is not much to worry about," Kumar, who is with the Army Sports Institute in Pune, told PTI. "He (Sable) was trying to protect the runner ahead of him and who just jumped over the water barrier. While doing that, he himself fell, this kind of things happen in a race," he added. The athlete ahead of him lost balance and went down, causing Sable to stumble as well. It was Kumar who spotted Sable after he joined the Indian Army in 2012. Kumar made Sable shift to steeplechase from cross country run in 2017 and nurtured him into a top athlete.. With just one point from three DL meetings this season, it will be difficult for the 30-year-old Sable to make it to the DL Finals on August 27-28 in Zurich, Switzerland. Sable, whose national record stands at 8 minute 09.91 seconds, finished 13th in the Xiamen DL on April 16, was eighth in Keqiao -- also in China -- before a DNF in Monaco on Friday. The last DL meeting which has men's 3000m steeplechase in the roster is in Brussels on August 22. On Friday, the sports ministry has approved Sable's training in Colorado Springs, USA from July 15 to September 3 to prepare for the World Championships (September 13-21) in Tokyo for which he has already qualified.

MSD likely to become J'khand tourism's brand ambassador
Ranchi: Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is likely to become the brand ambassador of Jharkhand tourism. The state govt has approached the global cricket icon to take up the role. However, a confirmation is awaited from his side. If the deal is inked, local boy Dhoni will become the first ambassador of state's tourism ever since Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar in the year 2000. The development came to light after Dhoni met state tourism minister Sudivya Kumar at his govt bungalow in the city on Saturday. Department officials said the discussion revolved around giving a strategic push to sports and tourism infrastructure in Jharkhand with Dhoni's active involvement. Tourism secretary Manoj Kumar on Saturday said a MoU is awaited from Dhoni's side. "Once we get his full consent, we will assess the legal formalities and proceed to designate him as brand ambassador. The idea is that he would promote key destinations through digital campaigns, videos, or social media posts. As of now, it's all conceptual, but if it materialises, it could be a turning point in our efforts to publicise Jharkhand's tourism offerings," Kumar said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like ¡Los Estados Unidos le ofrece el mejor futuro para usted y su familia! With his experience and reach, Jharkhand can emerge as a premier destination for sports tourism and natural retreats," said Sudivya after the meeting. Dhoni reportedly expressed his willingness to contribute to the state's development in these sectors and assured the government of his support going forward.

Karnataka High Court Halts Charge Sheet Filing Against RCB In Deadly Stadium Stampede Case
The Karnataka High Court has temporarily blocked state police from proceeding with formal charges against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and DNA Entertainment regarding the tragic stampede incident at Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, which resulted in 11 deaths and over 50 injuries. Justice SR Krishna Kumar issued the restraining order on Tuesday, directing law enforcement agencies to refrain from filing their final investigation report without explicit court approval. This decision came after legal representatives for both RCB and DNA Entertainment argued that filing charges would cause "irreparable harm" to their clients, emphasizing their full cooperation with the ongoing police investigation. The investigation encompasses three suo motu First Information Reports filed against RCB, DNA Entertainment, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association following the deadly incident. State government officials informed the court that police investigations would likely require at least another month to complete, though Justice Kumar emphasized that regardless of timeline, no final reports could be submitted without judicial permission. The court's intervention occurred while hearing petitions from RCB and DNA Entertainment seeking complete dismissal of the FIRs filed against them. Additionally, the court extended existing interim orders preventing arrests of individuals named as accused parties in the case until August 5, when proceedings will resume. The stampede tragedy unfolded when massive crowds gathered to celebrate RCB's IPL 2025 championship victory. The incident prompted immediate administrative action, with five police officials, including ACP Vikash Kumar Vikash, facing suspension for alleged failures in crowd management protocols. In related proceedings, RCB filed a separate petition challenging adverse observations made by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in its July 1 ruling. The CAT had deemed RCB "prima facie responsible" for the chaos, citing the franchise's failure to obtain necessary state permissions and its unilateral announcement of the celebration event through Instagram without proper authority notification. RCB's legal team contested these findings, arguing that the franchise was not included as a party in the CAT proceedings and therefore denied opportunity for defense. They contended that the tribunal's observations violated natural justice principles by assigning full responsibility without allowing RCB to present its case. The franchise maintained that according to its agreements with both KSCA and DNA Entertainment, responsibility for securing police permissions and related administrative requirements falls under their purview rather than RCB's direct obligations. This petition awaits scheduling for high court consideration. The CAT's ruling had reinstated ACP Vikash's suspension, prompting the Karnataka government to file its own appeal challenging this decision. The government's appeal is scheduled for hearing on July 9, adding another layer to the complex legal proceedings surrounding the tragic incident. The case highlights broader questions about event management responsibilities, crowd control protocols, and the coordination between sports franchises, event organizers, and law enforcement agencies during large-scale public celebrations. The court's current stance provides temporary relief for the accused parties while ensuring thorough investigation procedures continue under judicial can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.
