One family in Clark County saw a tree on their property get struck by lightning during the storms Sunday afternoon, and it fell on their roof after the strike.
The family said they heard a loud boom and saw a white flash of light.
When the husband went to check it out, he saw a tree covering his windows and leaning on the telephone poles near his yard.
Shelby County was hit hard by the rain as well.
One man said he found two inches of standing water in his basement when he went to check the sump pump.
He said he has lived there for 50 years and has never seen this much flooding.
'I had to go down and switch it over to the overflow tile that just comes out into the yard. I got about two inches of water in the basement, which we can manage,' Tom Steinke of Botkins said.
Homeowners are still dealing with the cleanup now, and the family in Clark County has a landscaper coming out later this week to help them out.

Clean up begins after 'devastating' flash flooding
A clean up has begun after parts of the Isle of Wight were hit by flash flooding following heavy rainfall. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said it received multiple calls from across the island, especially in Ryde and Cowes, regarding flooded homes from 18:15 BST on Thursday. Images from East Cowes showed large amounts of water in the roads and residents in Cowes could be seen putting sandbags outside their properties. Councillor for East Cowes, Karl Love, said the damage to homes and businesses was "quite significant". He said the sudden heavy rainfall "completely caught us out". "One minute we had blue skies - the next it was like turning the tap on in the shower. It was pretty awful and it's awful for the people being impacted "Yes, drains need to be kept clear, but you just can't cater for that kind of water coming down in that volume - to me there is no doubt about it - this is about global warming and climate change. "The ground was so dry... it had nowhere to go and when you live on the side of a hill like Cowes, then down it comes. "Within half an hour the clouds had all gone but the devastation left behind is quite significant." The town is set to host the annual Cowes Week yachting regatta, which begins on Saturday. Flooding leaves 14 dead, missing in Vietnam's Dien Bien
HANOI (Reuters) -Flooding triggered by heavy rain has left at least 14 people dead or missing in Vietnam's northern province of Dien Bien, state media reported on Friday. Floodwater rose quickly on Thursday night after hours of heavy rain, inundating houses in low-lying areas and causing flash floods and mudslides in mountainous parts of the province, Tien Phong newspaper reported. The mountain village of Xa Dung suffered the heaviest casualties, with one death and six missing, the report said. Traffic and power lines to several parts of the province have been cut off due to the floods, according to a statement from the provincial People's Committee. Two children in Hang Pu Xi village have been buried in mudslides and rescuers are yet to find their bodies, according to the statement. Media reports said ongoing heavy rain in the province is hindering the search for the missing.

Train service has been suspended in some parts of the city as a state of emergency was declared for the Bronx, Delaware, Dutchess, Kings, Nassau, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster, Westchester and Contiguous Counties. New York Governor Kathy Hochul and her acting counterpart in New Jersey said they were declaring states of emergency for areas facing the threat of extreme flash floods forecast on Thursday (July 31) for much of the Eastern Seaboard. The National Weather Service posted flash flood warnings along parts of the Northeast urban corridor stretching from the Washington-Baltimore region north through Philadelphia, Wilmington, Delaware, and into the New York City metropolitan area. Severe thunderstorm watches were also in effect across much of the Interstate-95 corridor. Up to 5 inches (12.7 cm) of rain was forecast in the heaviest bands of showers expected across New York City, Long Island and the Hudson River Valley, with rainfall rates that could exceed 2 inches per hour, according to a statement from Hochul.
