Ferndale man hit while standing in traffic after crash on I-94 in Detroit
The Ford Mustang lost control and was blocking the left lane when the driver from Ferndale got out of his car, according to Michigan State Police Second District on X.
A 39-year-old woman from Ferndale, driving a Ford Fusion struck the man. Neither driver involved in the crash had a driver's license, according to police.
The Mustang driver went over the median wall and landed on the left shoulder of the freeway. He was transported to the hospital. The Fusion driver was not hurt and remained on scene, according to police.
MSP does not release medical information of victims or get updates from hospitals, Public Information Officer Lt. Mike Shaw told the Free Press on Saturday, June 14.
Once the investigation is complete, police will present it to prosecutors for review, Shaw said.
"Unfortunately this was another example of a driver involved in a crash and then standing in traffic," a quote from Shaw in the X post says. "Remember, if you are involved in a crash, just stay inside your vehicle, keep your seatbelt on and call 911."

DANVILLE, V.A. (WGHP) — Court documents are giving more insight into the assault of a city councilman in Virginia. Woman who ran over children in crosswalk on their way to school given 4 months
Nearly two years after fatally striking two children who were walking in a crosswalk feet away from their elementary school in Prince George's County, a Maryland woman was sentenced Thursday to four months in jail. Teen killed in shooting outside North Philadelphia church, police say
A teenager is dead after gunfire erupted outside of a North Philadelphia church early Friday morning, police said. Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small tells CBS News Philadelphia officers and medics responded to the 1700 block of West Huntingdon Street for reports of a shooting just before 2 a.m. When they arrived, police found the teen lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to the face and chest. Medics transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The teen has not yet been identified. Small said officers with him at the hospital described him to be "very young" in his mid- to late teens. Police real-time crime cameras showed the victim walking with two other young men when the shots were fired. The two were then seen fleeing eastbound on West Huntingdon Street after shots rang out. About a half hour after the shooting, two teens showed up at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in a dark-colored sedan, Small said. The pair included one male teen with a gunshot wound in one of his legs, and another who was unconscious with gunshot wounds in his back and one of his legs. Detectives are investigating whether those teens are the same two who were seen with the victim, and how they are connected to the deadly shooting. Police are also investigating whether the sedan the teens arrived in was stolen, as it had a screwdriver in the ignition and its back window was blown out. Police also learned a dark-colored sedan was seen leaving the scene of the shooting.
