Kanpur: Relief and rescue operations continued vigorously on Saturday in the flood-affected villages of Ghatampur tehsil. Under the supervision of district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh and ADM (Finance and Revenue) Vivek Chaturvedi, relief is being continuously provided to the affected villages according to government standards.
On Saturday morning, the administration distributed snacks of chickpeas and porridge in the villages of Katri, Katar, Gadatha, Hardauli, and Mahuapurwa. Fresh meals prepared by the community kitchen were delivered to those affected. In the afternoon, lunch consisting of puri, vegetables, lentils, and rice was provided to people at safe locations via boats and PAC boats. Adequate arrangements for dinner were also made.
In the afternoon, MP Devendra Singh Bhole, along with the revenue and police teams, visited Gadatha village where he distributed mineral water, milk packets, biscuits, candles, and mosquito repellent incense to the flood-affected families using a motorboat. The MP also reviewed the relief arrangements made by the administration.
Currently, the water level is continuously decreasing. Information received from the irrigation department is being shared with the public.

Relief camps are operating in Katri, Katar, Gadatha, and Hardauli villages, where affected people are provided with food, water, medicines, and medical facilities.
ADM Vivek Chaturvedi visited the flood-affected areas after the comprehensive solution on Saturday and inspected the arrangements, giving necessary instructions. During this time, SDM Ghatampur Avichal Pratap Singh, tehsildar in-charge of Ghatampur, and other staff were present. Arrangements for vaccination and medicines for animals have been made in the flood-affected areas. Mobile teams of veterinary doctors are continuously working.Meanwhile, SDM Ghatampur Avichal Pratap Singh has appealed to prevent young children from going near flooded areas in the affected villages.
"Special care should be taken of children, the elderly, and the differently-abled. Avoid entering the water without safety measures and immediately inform the administration in any emergency situation," the SDM further said.

1 2 Jaipur: Rajasthan has so far received 79% excess rainfall as compared to 2024. Most of the dams and reservoirs are brimming with water. Gurgaon: The city is set to witness more wet days ahead, with the weather department forecasting widespread rainfall over the next three days and issuing a "yellow alert" for it till Aug 5. 1 2 Mohali: A spell of heavy rain on Sunday morning exposed the glaring inadequacies in Zirakpur's drainage infrastructure, as the Zirakpur-Patiala road was left waterlogged and nearly impassable for hours. The flooding, which caused major traffic disruptions and left pedestrians struggling, has been attributed to unplanned construction and encroachments on natural drainage routes. The downpour led to severe water accumulation on the busy road stretch, effectively turning parts of it into a temporary river. Commuters faced immense hardship as vehicles stalled in knee-deep water, and pedestrians were forced to wade through the flooded roadway. While the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had earlier installed large drainage pipes on both sides of the road — from Patiala Chowk to Gurdwara Nabha Sahib — to channel rainwater into a nearby natural stream, the effort has been undermined by unregulated construction activities.
