A private aircraft sustained landing gear issues after touch down at Pearson airport Wednesday morning, the airport said via a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Two runways are temporarily closed causing potential delays for the passengers, the airport said, noting flights are continuing to arrive and depart as usual from the other runways.
The airport says the plane managed to taxi down the runway before stopping near an intersection.
Two crew members were onboard the aircraft, and no injuries have been reported.
Transport Canada and The Transportation Safety Board have been alerted to the situation.

Flight delays at Vancouver airport ahead of B.C. Day long weekend

The Vancouver International Airport is seen in this photo from social media. (Twitter / Vancouver Airport) People travelling into or out of Vancouver International Airport Thursday evening are being advised to check the status of their flight, as delays are impacting dozens of arrivals and departures. The delays are due to 'resource contracts' with air traffic controllers, according to NAV Canada. 'Our team is moving aircraft safely, and as quickly as possible. Passengers: check the status of your flight with your airline,' an online statement said. YVR also posted on social media encouraging would-be travellers to check their flight status. According to the arrivals page on the airport's website, 75 flights between 3 p.m. and midnight were impacted. For departures, roughly two dozen were seeing delays in the same time period. The disruption comes as the airport prepares for more than 350,000 travellers over the B.C. Day long weekend. 'On average, almost 90,000 passengers will journey through YVR each day. Friday, Aug. 1 is expected to the busiest day of the weekend with 91,780 passengers, and Monday, Aug. 4 following closely behind with 91,613,' the airport said in a statement earlier this week. The projections for 2025 represent a 3.8 per cent increase over the 'historical high' seen in 2019, the statement noted. The Canada Day holiday was also marked by disruption at the airport due to the same issue at NAV Canada. More than two hundred flights were delayed and dozens were cancelled – a situation an airport spokesperson described as 'incredibly frustrating.'

Here's what's open and closed in Toronto this holiday Monday

The August long weekend is almost upon us and there are numerous events taking place, including the annual Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade set for Saturday. However, people should note that a number of stores and services will be closing their doors on Monday or will have reduced hours. Also known as Simcoe Day, August 4 is known as an 'optional' holiday in Ontario, meaning that employers are not required to give their workers the day off or shorten their hours, but many still choose to. What will be open on Civic Holiday Monday: Public transit users should note that the TTC will be operating on a holiday schedule, while GO Transit will run on its Saturday schedule. Ferry service to the Toronto Island will also be running on a normal schedule. Here's a list of what will be closed: The city is reminding people that the August Civic Holiday is not a designated fireworks day. This means that residents are only allowed to set off fireworks on their property - if they have obtained a permit from Toronto Fire Services. Fireworks are not permitted in city parks or on beaches, balconies, streets, parking lots, or other private property.
