Mumbai: Indian, Greek Navies conduct Passing Exercise, enhance combat capability
The Indian Navy spokesperson and the Western Naval Command shared the details of the Exercise.
INS Tarkash had participated in the PASSEX on Thursday, along with the Hellenic Navy Ship HS Psara.
The exercise saw tactical manoeuvres, replenishment-at-sea approaches, surface firing and cross-deck landings, and culminated in a steam past.
During the exercise, the navies had the opportunity to exchange best practices and enhance maritime interoperability.

In a post on X, the Western Naval Command said, '#INSTarkash @indiannavy participated in a #PASSEX with #HSPsara @NavyGR on 10 Jul 25. The exercise included validating communication procedures, tactical manoeuvres, replenishment-at-sea approaches, surface firing and cross deck landings, culminating in a steampast. The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange Best Practices and enhance bilateral maritime interoperability. Both units proceeded with scheduled deployments on completion of the exercise.'

A statement on the Exercise was also issued by the Hellenic Navy, which is the naval force of Greece.
'On Thursday, July 10, 2025, a joint PASSEX (Passing Exercise) training of the Frigate (F/G) PSARA was conducted with the Frigate (F/G) TARKASH (F-50) of the Indian Navy in the sea area west of Mumbai. During the joint training, fire, communications and advanced manoeuvre exercises were carried out. This joint training contributed to promoting the level of operational readiness and combat capability', the statement observed.
The Ministry of External Affairs in a previous statement had underlined that India's traditionally long-standing, warm and friendly relationship with Greece has been marked by consistent support for each other on issues of core national interest, such as Kashmir and Cyprus.
During the visit of the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to India in 2024, the leaders reaffirmed their shared objectives to advance defence cooperation, including defence industrial collaboration and innovation. (ANI)

J-K: 5 killed and 17 injured after tempo overturns on Doda-Bhart road
Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 15 (ANI): In a tragic accident, a tempo overturned on the Doda-Bhart road in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, killing five people and leaving 17 others injured, stated officials. Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh said that three of the 17 injured were critical and were undergoing treatment. 'The accident occurred near Ponda... 5 are confirmed to be dead and 17 are injured... 3 are critical and all are undergoing treatment...' Singh told ANI. Union Minister Jitendra Singh, upon receiving information of the accident, sent instructions to the District Commissioner to provide all possible medical help and assistance to the injured. 'Just now spoke to DC Doda, Sh Harvinder Singh on receiving the information about a private tempo road accident in the vicinity of Bhart village, about 20 to 25 km from Doda city,' the Minister's post read. 'All possible help and medical aid are being provided. DC is personally supervising the entire exercise and giving me regular updates. Any further assistance, as required, will also be provided. My sincere condolences to the families of the deceased,' the post further read. Earlier on July 13, 10 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured as after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident in the Kulgam district, said officials. The injured were returning from the pilgrimage and were en route to Vaishno Devi when the incident occurred. One of the injured pilgrims said the group had left early in the morning. '10-11 people have been injured. All of us are from Madhya Pradesh. We were travelling from Amarnath to Vaishno Devi and had left at 3 am. After the accident, we were brought to the hospital. We are receiving good treatment here,' he said. Another injured pilgrim, Bhagirath from Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur, said, 'I am from Mandsaur in MP. We had come for the yatra. The accident happened in Kulgam. I have sustained an injury to my eye... The arrangements here are good. 'Dr Tariq, an orthopaedic specialist at GMC Anantnag, told ANI, 'We have 8-10 people here. Most of them have injuries on their head... Orthopaedically, they are all stable. After due investigations, all of them will likely be discharged in an hour... One person with chest trauma will be retained here, the rest of them will be discharged...' (ANI)

She said that she had not taken her children to the forest to die, claiming that the little kids were 'very happy". 'We have a lot of experience staying in nature, and we were not dying. Texas [US], July 14 (ANI): A grand global celebration of the Bhagavad Gita concluded at Allen Stadium in Frisco, Dallas, under the leadership of spiritual leader and head of the Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji. Over 10,000 devotees from around the world participated in the historic event, which featured the collective chanting of the entire Bhagavad Gita.
