However, he gets roped into the world of crime when his love for a girl makes him commit robbery in order to help her financially. However, his misdeed unexpectedly grabs the attention of an underworld gangster while his love interest's father turns out to be a cop.
DD Next Level
DD Next Level narrates the story of a filmmaker who gets trapped inside the world of the kind of films that he used to mock and ridicule for the longest time. As the bizarre reality of circumstances set in, he realises the need to find an escape route fast.
However, things become complicated for him since the alternate reality of the fictional world is controlled by a vengeful spirit who was once a failed filmmaker. Nonetheless, the latter continues to leave cryptic clues for the living filmmaker to exit the place.
Aa Okkati Adakku narrates the story of a man named Gana, who has been striving to end his bachelorhood status and get married soon. A priest prophecies to him that if he does not get married within the next 25 days, he will always remain a spinster.
While Gana gets easily tired of matchmaking schemes made by his neighbours, he decides to take help from a matrimonial service to evade the most horrid fate. There, he meets a woman who initially rejects him. However, he decides to win her over no matter what.
Dear Uma
The movie revolves around Dev, a rock star, whose chance meeting with a medical trainee, Uma, completely changes his life. Things begin when the former suffers from a heart ailment after an alcoholic spirals following a failed attempt at romance.
As it is, Uma, who treats him to good health, Dev realises that he has, in fact, fallen in love with her soul more than the person that she is. However, their romance is cut short with a shocking realisation, which forms the climax of the film.

Cyber Crime cops blow lid off high-profile film piracy racket
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have apprehended a 29-year-old man from East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh found actively involved in a high-profile movie piracy racket. In a span of one and half year, he has recorded and leaked about 40 movies in various theaters across Hyderabad. Police arrested Jana Kiran Kumar, works as an AC Technician and residing at NGOs Colony, Vanasthalipuram, Ranga Reddy District and native of Andhra Pradesh. According to police, on June 5, police received a complaint from Yarra Manindra Babu, representing the Anti-Video Piracy Cell of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC), Hyderabad. He reported that Telugu film, 'Single' (released on May 9, 2025), was illegally pirated and circulated online on the very day of the movie release. Pirated HD versions were traced to popular piracy platforms like 1TamilBlasters, 5MoviezRulz, and 1TamilMV. Preliminary forensic watermarking pointed towards leakage from a theater. The TFCC estimated a staggering Rs 3,700 crore loss to the Telugu film industry in 2024 due to piracy, urging swift investigation and action against broader piracy networks. Following the complaint, police registered a case under sections 66(C), 66(E) IT Act; Sec. 318(4), r/w 3(5), 338 BNS; Sec. 63, 65 of the Copyright Act, Sec. 6-AA, 6AB, 7(1A) of Cinematograph Act, 1952 (2008) and investigated. The Cyber Crime police said that the accused found a meme mentioning piracy group 1TamilMV and contacted their recruitment email (Proton mail) and Sent a proposal via email offering to source pirated Telugu content. The accused has taken all precautions from being tracked by the Investigating Agency by Shifting to Telegram after sharing his Telegram ID. It was assigned to record newly released movies, with agreed payments of USD 300–400 (in cryptocurrency) per movie. Some of the movies filmed are - Pellikani Prasad, 14 days Love, Thandel, Game On, Kismat, Rajadhani Files etc. The senior officer at Cyber Crime said 'Kiran booked tickets online and used his mobile phone, concealed in his shirt pocket, to record the movies in theaters. And later shared the pirated movie files links to handlers on Telegram. He received payments in Bitcoin and converted crypto currency into Indian Rupees using platforms like ZebPay and Coin DCX.' The Cyber Crime police said that 'Piracy is a Crime'. Recording or sharing pirated movies is a serious criminal offense under the Copyright Act, 1957. Section 6 AA of Cinematograph Act, Section 6 AB, Section 7 (1) (a). These orders are issued by the Central Government or the Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the violation can result in imprisonment for up to three years, a fine of up to one lakh rupees, or both, along with a further fine of up to twenty thousand rupees for each day the offence continues. The police urged the public to refrain from engaging in or supporting movie piracy in any form and appealed to report any suspicious activity to the local police authorities or cybercrime police.

Kaalidhar Laapata review: Abhishek Bachchan shines but film falls short
'Kaalidhar Laapata', directed by Madhumita and led by Abhishek Bachchan, is the Hindi remake of her own Tamil film, 'KD A Karuppu Durai'. While the core storyline remains intact, the Hindi version has its own flavour. The film shines in its heartfelt portrayal of an unlikely bond between a forgotten man and a spirited child. However, it falters in places. Some scenes lack emotional depth and the pacing isn't always steady. But even with these flaws, 'Kaalidhar Laapata' manages to strike a chord, thanks largely to its honest and affecting story begins with Kaalidhar (played by Abhishek Bachchan), a middle-aged man struggling with memory loss. Feeling burdened with his medical bills, his siblings plan to get rid of him. He overhears his siblings talking about abandoning him at the Kumbh Mela. Feeling hurt and unwanted, Kaalidhar decides to escape. He hops onto the first bus he can find to go as far away as possible from his spends the night at a village temple, where he meets Ballu (played by Daivik Bhagela), an eight-year-old orphan with an infectious zest for life. Despite their age gap, the two strike up an unexpected friendship that initially gets off to a rocky start, with Ballu trying to trouble Kaalidhar at every point. However, the two, both dealing with abandonment issues, eventually find comfort in each other. Ballu gives Kaalidhar the nickname 'KD', and he sets out on a mission to tick off KD's bucket list, which includes - a lifelong supply of biryani, acting, riding a bike, wearing a suit, dancing in a baraat, trying alcohol, no not the desi kind but the angrezi wali (English one) and meeting his first love truly feel how important Kaalidhar becomes to the little boy when, in one touching moment, the doctor treating KD asks a distraught Ballu, 'What is he to you?' and Ballu simply replies - sabkuch (everything). Ballu, once left on the temple steps, finds a home in KD, and KD, in him. And still, you can't help but wish the film gave us a few more of these moments, something that fully captured the bond that grows between them. Shot in Madhya Pradesh, the sets and locations are as real as they could be as they provide authenticity and rustic charm to its story. Initially, the pace of the film feels a bit slow, but once KD and Ballu come together, the film begins to shine. Their bond is the soul of the story. It is humorous and touching, but only in Bachchan, in a role that's more restrained than dramatic, does a fine job portraying a man who's quietly broken yet still holding on to hope. He's not trying to steal the spotlight but fits the role with ease. His chemistry with Daivik Bhagela is the USP of the film. Daivik is a delight to watch. He is natural, expressive and full of life. There's no exaggeration in his performance, which makes his character even more the film has its flaws as well. Zeeshan Ayyub's talent seems to be wasted, and there are moments when you are ready with your tissues, but the moment passes without tugging at your heartstrings. A key example is the missed opportunity for a heartfelt scene between KD and Ballu at the railway station. This could have added more emotional weight to the film. It's a moment you keep expecting, but it never film also leaves some inconsistencies unexplained. For example, while Kaalidhar is introduced as someone suffering from serious mental illness with memory loss and hallucinations, this aspect is forgotten quite conveniently as the film progresses. He suddenly is all fine and even starts to earn a living for himself and Ballu, without much explanation about his 'Kaalidhar Laapata' reminds us that life can surprise us with joy, even in tough times. And shows how friendship can cross age barriers, healing our pained hearts.- Ends3 out 5 to Kaalidhar Laapata.

Thammudu box office prediction day 1: Nithiin, one of Telugu cinema's popular stars, is in the limelight because of his latest film Thammudu. The actioner hit the screens on July 4 amid much fanfare. The film has created a buzz among movie buffs as it features the actor in a new avatar and promises to offer a complete 'theatrical experience' to the audience. These factors are set to help it open to a good response at the Indian box office. Thammudu set to open well Thammudu, starring Nithiin, is finally out in theatres. According to reports in the Telugu media, the film needs to collect a share of Rs 25 crore worldwide to emerge as a 'hit'. Robinhood had earned merely Rs 14 crore (approx) worldwide in its full run as per a report by Box Office South 2, a handle on X (formerly known as Twitter).
