Duster Ending Explained: Saxton's Sacrifice and Xavier's True Identity Revealed, Here's How It Sets Up Season 2
The explosive Duster series' ending ties up plenty of secrets but leaves fans wanting more. The '70s crime thriller from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan delivers high stakes in its season finale, setting up a tense road ahead for Jim Ellis, Nina Hayes, and a new twist involving Jim's brother. What happens in the Duster season finale? The Duster season finale breakdown shows how everything reaches a boiling point in Arizona. The truth finally comes out about getaway driver Jim Ellis's confidential informant deal with FBI agent Nina Hayes. Meanwhile, tensions between Arizona mob boss Ezra Saxton and his rival reach their peak. The result? A brutal shootout leaves several dead. LaToya Morgan told Collider, 'It was always our plan from the beginning…It was something we discussed with [Keith David] right before we cast him, and this was also part of a larger plan for multiple seasons.' Saxton sacrifices himself for his son Royce, a choice Morgan says was planned to make his death feel earned, not wasted. 'It had to be in a way that felt special, that felt like it was the right arc for his character,' she said. What we learned about Nina and Saxton's past One of the biggest moments is a Philadelphia flashback showing young Nina meeting Saxton. The scene explains Nina's lifelong mission. Morgan said, 'It was such a priority for me…to set the table and show young Saxton…and that there are repercussions to those actions.' The finale also shows Nina being kidnapped and tortured, but she doesn't back down. 'This woman is going through it,' Morgan shared. 'She's still standing up for herself and standing up for her father.' Xavier's identity twist: Jim's brother Joey is alive A major shock is the reveal that Jim's brother Joey is not dead, he's Xavier, the mysterious figure haunting the season. Morgan shared, 'In the beginning…we started laying out ideas for multiple seasons. It was always a part of what we were thinking about.' This twist means Jim and Nina can't just leave Arizona behind. Nina's future at the bureau and Jim's life are tied to these secrets. The Duster finale brought more heartbreak for Jim as well. His ex Izzy tells him she has cancer, another early plan that Morgan delayed for a bigger impact. 'Originally, we were going to reveal it in the pilot…It had to be more impactful at the end,' she said. Fans now wonder how Jim will care for Izzy and their daughter Luna, and whether Nina stays by his side. With Saxton gone, Xavier's true identity revealed, and Nina's mission unfinished, Duster sets up new dangers. Morgan teased that these big reveals open more doors. 'Hopefully you've been enjoying the ride…because there's more,' she said.

"Love Is Never Wrong": Norwegian Princess As 22-Year-Old Daughter Comes Out As Bisexual
Maud Angelica Behn, the eldest daughter of Norwegian Princess Martha Louise, has publicly come out as queer. The 22-year-old attended Oslo's Pride Parade over the weekend, where she decided to share the news. Taking to Instagram, she shared a series of photos in which she is dressed in various colours mirroring the rainbow Pride flag. "Happy Pride from a bisexual person," she wrote in the caption of the post. "This year's Pride was absolutely amazing and there was so much love," she added. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Maud Angelica Behn (@maud_angelica_behn) Princess Martha Louise also attended Norway's largest LGBTIQ+ festival with her second husband, American shaman Durek Verrett. The royal took to social media to share a sweet message about her daughter's announcement. "Love is never wrong. This Pride Month, I want to honour the courage it takes to live your truth," she wrote while sharing photos and videos from the parade. "During Pride I see a deep capacity for love - love that doesn't ask for permission or explanation. There's something profoundly beautiful about daring to love who you love, even when the world tells you to be quiet, to shrink, or to hide. But love isn't meant to be hidden. It's meant to be celebrated, lived and shared in all its wonderful forms," she went on. "Pride is not just about identity. It's about freedom. It's about the bravery to be fully yourself in a world that often doesn't make that easy. To everyone out there still trying to find the words or the courage: You are seen, you are loved, and you never have to apologize for who you are. Happy Pride," the Norwegian royal concluded. Princess Martha Louise also has daughters Leah Isadora and Emma Tallulah with her first husband, Ari Behn, who died by suicide in 2019. She made headlines last year after tying the knot with Durek Verrett, who claims to be a sixth-generation shaman from California. After the pair's engagement in 2023, the Norwegian princess's father, King Harald V, said that his family was "delighted to welcome" Mr Verrett, the New York Post reported. Notably, Princess Martha Louise gave up her royal duties in 2022 to pursue alternative medicine with her partner by launching a joint business. She kept her royal title, but abdicated her official duties to "create a clearer dividing line" between her roles. Since meeting the self-proclaimed American, the princess has reportedly claimed she can talk with angels. Her partner, on the other hand, claims he communicates with a broad range of spirits, wields ancient medicine and has a medallion that helps ward off heavy energies, spells and darkness. Princess Martha Louise's brother, Crown Prince Haakon, will succeed his father as king.
