Carville accuses Jewish donors of abandoning Democrats for GOP because they just want their ‘f---ing tax cut'
During the latest episode of his "Politics War Room" podcast, the former Bill Clinton advisor said these donors' concerns that the Democratic Party has encouraged antisemitism on college campuses are an excuse so they can vote for President Donald Trump's tax cuts.
"No, you just want your f---ing tax cut," he declared.

The topic came up with co-host Al Hunt ripping Trump for billing himself an ally for Jewish people. "Trump fighting antisemitism is a joke," he said, referencing a recent New York Times article accusing the president of fanning the "flames" of antisemitism in America.
Carville replied by calling Trump a "complete fraud," but added that the group really exposed by the article are the wealthy Jewish people who stopped giving to the Democratic Party and supported Trump in 2024.

"I tell you who this exposes in a more profound way. And I hear this all the time… a lot of really wealthy Jewish fundraisers — And they say, 'Look James, I'm a Democrat, but I can't be a part of the party because of what happened at Columbia.'"

This wave of anti-Israel sentiment, and perceived indifference or support by some Democrats, has caused certain Jewish figures to stop giving to the party and to begin donating to Trump's campaign.
Wealthy tech expert Jacob Helberg donated over $1 million to Trump's 2024 campaign, despite being a Democratic donor in the previous presidential election. Helberg, who serves as a senior policy advisor to Palantir CEO Alex Karp, gave his reason for the switch, stating, "It became very clear that an organizing principle on the left increasingly became based on a divvying up of the world between oppressors and oppressed. It's just an organizing principle that I fundamentally disagree with."
He added that he feels "like a lot of the thin crust of civilization that separates today's world from the dark world of yesterday is going to unravel in some really scary ways," he said. "You're seeing that with these incredibly dark, antisemitic protests on university campuses, in the streets of Dearborn, Mich., and these slogans that are somehow gaining popular attraction."

During the podcast, Carville attacked this reason, saying that Jewish donors like Helberg and Bill Ackman — who Hunt called out by name — are donating to the GOP just to help their bottom lines.
"Most Jewish people see right through [Trump], but the ones that don't see through it, they just don't — at the end of the day, they just want their f---ing tax cut. Evyatar David, 24, was kidnapped at the Nova Music Festival on Oct. 7, 2023, during the terrorist attack by Hamas in which 1,200 people were killed and 250 taken hostage. The video shows David looking visibly gaunt as he ticks off days on a calendar in a narrow tunnel. Another section of the video shows him being forced to dig a hole in the ground that he says will be his grave. The Hamas propaganda video is interspersed with images of starving Palestinian children. David, a guitar and piano player who comes from a musical family, is one of an estimated 20 living hostages still being held by Hamas and other militants. Of the estimated 250 people taken during the Hamas terror attack on October 7, 140 have been released during negotiations, 8 have been rescued, and the bodies of 57 who died in captivity or during rescue attempts have been recovered. The video release comes a day after Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another militant group with ties to Hamas, also released a video of another Israeli hostage, Rom Braslavski. President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff met with the families of the hostages in Tel Aviv on Saturday, where he told them that Trump and he believe they will be 'successful' in negotiating a deal to bring all of the hostages home. 'Now we have to get all the 20 [live hostages] at the same time... we think that we have to shift this negotiation to all or nothing so that everybody comes home. We think it is going to be successful and we have a plan around it,' Witkoff said, according to Axios. 'President Trump now believes that everybody ought to come home at once - no piecemeal deals. Ceasefire talks have continued to stall between Hamas and Israel as a starvation crisis spreads in Gaza, with a United Nations (UN)-backed international food security body warning that there is a 'worst-case famine scenario' unfolding in the region. Ohio city whose Haitian migrants were disparaged by Trump braces to defend them against deportation
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — An Ohio city whose Haitian migrants were disparaged by a Donald Trump falsehood last year as he pitched voters on his plans for an immigration crackdown is now bracing to defend the community against possible deportation. A group of about 100 community members, clergy and Haitian leaders in Springfield gathered this week for several days of training sessions as they prepare to defend potential deportees and provide them refuge. 'We feel that this is something that our faith requires, that people of faith are typically law-abiding people — that's who we want to be — but if there are laws that are unjust, if there are laws that don't respect human dignity, we feel that our commitment to Christ requires that we put ourselves in places where we may face some of the same threats,' said Carl Ruby, senior pastor of Central Christian Church. Ruby said the ultimate goal of the group is to persuade the Trump administration to reverse its decision to terminate legal protections for hundreds of thousands of Haitians in the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status, or TPS. 'One way of standing with the Haitians is getting out the message of how much value they bring to the city of Springfield,' he said. 'It would be an absolute disaster if we lost 10,000 of our best workers overnight because their TPS ends and they can no longer work.' In lieu of that, Ruby said, participants in the effort are learning how to help Haitians in other ways. That includes building relationships, accompanying migrants to appointments with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and providing their families with physical shelter. Springfield found itself in an unwelcome spotlight last year after Trump amplified false rumors during a presidential debate that members of the mid-size city's burgeoning Haitian population were abducting and eating cats and dogs. It was the type of inflammatory and anti-immigrant rhetoric he promoted throughout his campaign. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced in June that it would terminate TPS as soon as Sept. 2 for about 500,000 Haitians who are already in the United States, some of whom have lived here for more than a decade. The department said conditions in the island nation have improved adequately to allow their safe return. The United Nations contradicts that assertion, saying that the economic and humanitarian crisis in Haiti has only worsened with the Trump administration's cuts in foreign aid. The announcement came three months after the administration revoked legal protections for thousands of Haitians who arrived legally in the United States under a humanitarian parole program as part of a series of measures implemented to curb immigration. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned a federal judge's order preventing the administration from revoking the parole program. Last month, a federal judge in New York blocked the administration from accelerating an end to Haitians' TPS protections, which the Biden administration had extended through at least Feb. 3, 2026, citing gang violence, political unrest, a major earthquake in 2021 and other factors. Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said at the time that the Trump administration would eventually prevail and that its predecessors treated TPS like a 'de facto asylum program.' In the meantime, the government has set the expiration date back to early February. TPS allows people already in the United States to stay and work legally if their homelands are deemed unsafe. Immigrants from 17 countries, including Haiti, Afghanistan, Sudan and Lebanon, were receiving those protections before Trump took office for his second term in January. Charla Weiss, a founding member of Undivided, the group that hosted the Springfield workshop, said participants were asked the question of how far they would go to help Haitian residents avoid deportation. 'The question that I know was before me is, how far am I willing to go to support my passion about the unlawful detainment and deportation of Haitians, in particular here in Springfield?' she said. Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a longtime supporter of the Haitian community, was briefed by Springfield leaders during a visit to the city Friday. He told reporters that the state is bracing for the potential of mass layoffs in the region as a result of the TPS policy change, a negative for the workers and the companies that employ them.
