James Carville Blames Trump's ‘Idiot War' Plans on Syphilis: ‘Obviously Diminished Mental Skills'

Donald Trump's potential 'idiot war' with Iran might be due to an undiagnosed (or at least not publicly shared) case of syphilis, James Carville said on 'Politics War Room.' The president can wear make-up on his face, Carville added, but that cannot 'cover up the slurred language, the stupidity, the ravenous effects this has on a person's body, on their mind, on everything else.' Carville began the Thursday episode by noting that he has wondered aloud about red splotches on Trump's hands since January 2024. Such markings 'could be a professional sign of syphilis, a venereal disease, a tertiary syphilis,' he said. The topic was never properly looked into, he continued, and then the political news cycle moved on to other topics, and now the world is collectively waiting to see if Trump will attempt to have Congress authorize US involvement in Israel and Iran's war. 'Does anybody really think the son of a b–ch knows where Iran is?' Carvilla asked. 'Of course you don't. He has no f–king idea. He has no idea what a Sunni, what a Shia is. He has no idea what a Persian is. He has no idea of anything.' 'It's obviously that he's had, like all people, older people, me included, he's had some diminished capacity,' Carville also added. 'Fortunately, I'm unable to start a war. Unfortunately, he is, which makes a lot of difference.' Carville later implored political pundits and investigators to take his theory – which he's espoused several times in the past – seriously. 'What's happening right now is a guy is starting to talk about hauling off and starting to war and who very well, reasonably … could have a really diseased mental capacity, above and beyond just the normal effects of aging and what comes with that.' 'We're not being served by sitting here silently and you're not being served by a commentariat that basically has one thumb up his ass and one thumb in its mouth and is switching every f–king 30 seconds. Go do your job,' he continued. 'Find out what's going on with his hand. Find out what's going on with his capacity. Have people look at his slurred language. Have people look at the deterioration that's going on right now and the madness and the corruption and all of the other s–t that's going on … Look at what's right in front of you.' Carville: Democrats acted like Trump voters ‘don't exist'

James Carville is criticizing his own Democratic Party, saying it acts like 'MAGA' voters don't exist, and arguing this is a part of why it lost the 2020 presidential contest. Carville argued that President Trump is speaking directly to supporters in the Make American Great Again movement about their frustrations and offering them solutions. Democrats, he argued, need to work more on communicating to the wide group of people. 'The brilliant thing about MAGA is it gives you an explanation other than yourself of why your life didn't turn out the way you wanted it,' he said during the latest episode of his 'Politics War Room' podcast. 'And we should say to these people, we kind of understand what you were trying to say, but you were betrayed. Let's also face it — Democrats acted like these people didn't exist,' he added. The political pundit said party members should have catered to the concerns of Trump supporters. 'Don't come back and say we acted like working-class, particularly working-class non-college whites, were not part of our too-cool-for-school group. There were some real, and some real high end people, that kind of bought into that s—,' Carville said. 'And, you know, I can see it, but the best thing to do is not punch him in the mouth, but to say, 'You know, man, I could hear where you're coming from, and you just got betrayed. And we betrayed you somewhat and we now have learned our lesson,'' he added. 'I think that's the best way.' Carville said working-class whites have been alienated by both parties and noted that he understands their draw toward the Republican Party.

Carville says Dems ‘betrayed' working-class voters by not including them in ‘too-cool-for-school' coalition

Veteran Democratic Party strategist James Carville warned on Thursday that Democrats need to acknowledge how they took part in the decades-long betrayal of white, working-class voters. Since the Democratic Party's historic loss in November, many have been trying to chart a path forward to reclaiming their coalition. Advertisement While some have doubled-down on controversial far-left identity politics, some have worked to reclaim working-class men they alienated in recent years, particularly white men. On the Politics War Room podcast, hosts Carville and Al Hunt addressed a comment from a listener, who suggested that rather than being reconciliation, MAGA supporters deserve to be 'beaten badly at the voting booth and then told just to suck it up.' 'Oh God, who doesn't have that instinct?' Carville responded, but nonetheless warned that politics comes down to winning elections, and that means persuading voters. 'It is not the most satisfying way, but what in the end are we trying to do? We're trying to do one thing, win elections.' He proceeded to warn against the 'temptation that says 'I can't believe how godd–n stupid you were.' Getty Images While he said he has no temptation for the 'corporate a—wipes' who voted for Trump to become richer, the strategist nicknamed the Ragin' Cajun expressed some sympathy for working-class whites he says have been betrayed by both parties. 'I have an iota of sympathy for somebody whose life hadn't turned out right,' he said. 'The brilliant thing about MAGA is it gives you an explanation other than yourself of why your life didn't turn out the way you wanted it, and we should say to these people 'We kind of understand what you were trying to say but you were betrayed.'' 3 Carville argued that white, working-class people were excluded from Democrats' 'too-cool-for-school' coalition. They just did, and don't come back and say-We acted like working-class, particularly working-class non-college whites were not part of our too-cool-for-school group,' he continued. 'There were some real high-end people that kind of bought in to that s—.' He returned to the listener's question and reasserted his point that it's better to reconcile with working-class white voters, even if he understands being frustrated with them. 'I can see it, but the best thing to do is not punch him in the mouth but to say, 'You know man I could hear where you're coming from you just got betrayed, and we betrayed you somewhat, and we now have learned our lesson,'' he said.

Auburn basketball coach accuses Carville of spreading ‘hatred' with statements about Jewish donors

Auburn men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl sharply criticized Democratic strategist James Carville on Friday over his recent statements about wealthy Jewish donors who have left the Democratic Party. During an appearance on Fox News Channel, the accomplished coach and outspoken Israel advocate ripped Carville for saying earlier this week that wealthy Jewish people were not leaving the Democratic Party because of antisemitism, but rather because they just want a 'f—— tax cut' from the Republicans. 'When you say that wealthy Jews don't want to pay their taxes, that just commits to the Jew hatred and the things that are out there,' Pearl told anchor Bill Hemmer on 'America's Newsroom,' after shaking his head when the show played Carville's remarks. Carville made the comments during the Wednesday episode of his 'Politics War Room' podcast, bashing Jewish donors who decided to stop giving to Democratic politicians and instead donate to President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign after seeing the rash of antisemitism that has sprung up on college campuses and that some Democratic luminaries have supported. The former Bill Clinton advisor didn't buy that reason for the switch, arguing wealthy Jewish donors were looking for an excuse so they could vote for Trump and benefit from his tax cuts. 3 Carville made the comments during the Wednesday episode of his 'Politics War Room' podcast. Politics War Room 'And I hear this all the time… a lot of really wealthy Jewish fundraisers — And they say, 'Look James, I'm a Democrat, but I can't be a part of the party because of what happened at Columbia.' What the f— did the Democrats have to do with what happened at Columbia by the way?' Carville asked. He continued, 'And they tell me that, they look me right in the eye… No, you just want your f—— tax cut.' 3 Head Coach Bruce Pearl of the Auburn Tigers reacts during the second half in the Final Four game of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament against the Florida Gators at the Alamodome on April 05, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. Getty Images Pearl responded on Fox, stating, 'The truth is that Jewish voters are abandoning the Democratic Party because they've become increasingly extreme, and they indulge terrorist sympathizers. You just look at these campuses, you just look at these college graduations.' 'For James Carville to say this, that's an antisemitic trope. Now I don't know whether he's antisemitic or not,' he continued. Pearl also shot back at Carville's suggestion that Jewish Americans are looking for ways to pay fewer taxes, saying 'successful Jewish people' – including himself – pay their fair share. 3 James Carville poses for a portrait at the 27th SCAD Savannah Film Festival on October 31, 2024 in Savannah, Georgia. Getty Images 'So if this is the Democratic leadership, and if he's going to call out wealthy Jews like that,' he added, 'guess what, we're not – they're not staying in the Democratic Party.' Pearl later praised Trump for his support of the Jewish community and Israel, saying, 'There has been no president in the history of our country that has done more to support the state of Israel than Donald Trump.' Fox News Digital reached out to Carville for comment.

Carville accuses Jewish donors of abandoning Democrats for GOP because they just want their ‘f---ing tax cut'

Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville on Wednesday said he doesn't believe it when wealthy Jewish donors tell him they're ditching the Democratic Party because of antisemitism among its members. He says they're doing it for a "f---ing tax cut." During the latest episode of his "Politics War Room" podcast, the former Bill Clinton advisor said these donors' concerns that the Democratic Party has encouraged antisemitism on college campuses are an excuse so they can vote for President Donald Trump's tax cuts. "No, you just want your f---ing tax cut," he declared. Trump Pushes 'Big, Beautiful Bill' As Solution To Four Years Of Biden Failures: 'Largest Tax Cut, Ever' The topic came up with co-host Al Hunt ripping Trump for billing himself an ally for Jewish people. "Trump fighting antisemitism is a joke," he said, referencing a recent New York Times article accusing the president of fanning the "flames" of antisemitism in America. Carville replied by calling Trump a "complete fraud," but added that the group really exposed by the article are the wealthy Jewish people who stopped giving to the Democratic Party and supported Trump in 2024. Read On The Fox News App "I tell you who this exposes in a more profound way. And I hear this all the time… a lot of really wealthy Jewish fundraisers — And they say, 'Look James, I'm a Democrat, but I can't be a part of the party because of what happened at Columbia.'" "What the f--- did the Democrats have to do with what happened in Columbia?" Carville demanded. Columbia University, like other prominent U.S. universities, has been a hotbed of anti-Israel demonstrations since Hamas' terror attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Michelle Obama Says The 'Ultimate Job' For A Parent Is To Let Kids Fail And Build Resilience This wave of anti-Israel sentiment, and perceived indifference or support by some Democrats, has caused certain Jewish figures to stop giving to the party and to begin donating to Trump's campaign. Wealthy tech expert Jacob Helberg donated over $1 million to Trump's 2024 campaign, despite being a Democratic donor in the previous presidential election. Helberg, who serves as a senior policy advisor to Palantir CEO Alex Karp, gave his reason for the switch, stating, "It became very clear that an organizing principle on the left increasingly became based on a divvying up of the world between oppressors and oppressed. It's just an organizing principle that I fundamentally disagree with." He added that he feels "like a lot of the thin crust of civilization that separates today's world from the dark world of yesterday is going to unravel in some really scary ways," he said. "You're seeing that with these incredibly dark, antisemitic protests on university campuses, in the streets of Dearborn, Mich., and these slogans that are somehow gaining popular attraction." Click Here For More Coverage Of Media And Culture During the podcast, Carville attacked this reason, saying that Jewish donors like Helberg and Bill Ackman — who Hunt called out by name — are donating to the GOP just to help their bottom lines. "Most Jewish people see right through [Trump], but the ones that don't see through it, they just don't — at the end of the day, they just want their f---ing tax cut. And you can see it every day," he article source: Carville accuses Jewish donors of abandoning Democrats for GOP because they just want their 'f---ing tax cut'
