AN ALLEGED hitman nicked over the murders of two Scots gangsters is to fight extradition - as he claimed he was being intimidated by onlookers in court.
Michael Riley, 44, of Huyton, Liverpool, appeared today at Westminster Magistrates Court as part of a bid to have him shipped to Spain.

Cops there issued an international arrest warrant in connection with their probe into the May 31 murders of Ross Monaghan, 43, and Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46.
Riley was apprehended by Merseyside police on June 13 under an international arrest warrant issued by the Spanish authorities last week.
Riley was remanded in custody by magistrates on Saturday after he was deemed a flight risk.
He appeared at the London court via videolink from HMP Wandsworth yesterday but due to technical difficulties the hearing could not go ahead effectively.
He appeared in person wearing a grey, prison-issued tracksuit and spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.
Riley was asked today by the court clerk if he wished to give consent to be extradited back to Spain, to which he said: 'No, I do not.'
Riley's extradition hearing will be on October 9 at Westminster Magistrates court and is expected to last all day.
Judge John Bristow said: 'As you know, Mr Riley, your extradition is sought by Spain, you have not consented to your extradition, so there is going to be a hearing on October 9.
'If you don't come to that hearing, it can proceed without you. That would mean you would not get the chance to tell your side of the story.
'You are not applying for bail today, so I am going to remand you in custody.
'Your next appearance will be on July 18, where on that occasion you will be on live television link.'
Riley accused a member of the public in the public gallery of staring at him and making funny faces.
He shouted: 'Stop looking at me' as he was led back to the cells.

Police Scotland first insisted three days after the slaughter they had 'no intelligence' to suggest the murders were connected to an ongoing turf war here.
However, at a sensational press conference in Malaga their Spain counterparts said the man they want extradited over the killings was 'an internal member of the rival Daniel gang'.
Malaga-based police chief Pedro Agudo Novo told reporters: "The double murder was carried out by a professional killer and member of one of the victims' rival gangs.
"In this case we're not talking about an independently hired killer but an internal member of the rival Daniel gang who ends up assassinating two members of an enemy gang."
That prompted the Scottish force to repeat their insistence there is no Daniel link to the slayings - a position also held by members of Monaghan's family.
A relative of the murdered mob boss said earlier this month: 'The one thing people need to know is the Daniels are not behind this.'
Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston said: "We are not aware of any current evidence which suggests the deaths of these two men in Spain are linked to criminal attacks in Scotland being investigated as part of Operation Portaledge.'

Their deaths come amid an ongoing turf war in Scotland that's resulted in 48 arrests as part of Police Scotland's Operation Portaledge.
The gangland carnage in Edinburgh and Glasgow began in March amid claims Dubai-based hood Ross 'Miami' McGill, 31, of East Kilbride sought revenge after blaming associates of caged capital kingpin Mark Richardson, 38, for using fake notes in a dodgy £500,000 cocaine deal.

The new photographs reveal the watery grave of the tragic entrepreneur's yacht. A ruined reception area holds soaked furniture scattered across one side of the dilapidated room. Waterlogged armchairs and pillows thrown all over the eerie compartment sit next to ghastly tables which have been soaked under water for the last 10 months. The once sumptuous interior now rotten with grime is a harrowing reminder of the tragic day on August 19 2024 when the ship sank in just 16 minutes after being hit by a violent downburst. The freak accident also took the lives of banker Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife Judy Bloomer, 71, as well as US lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo, and Canadian-Antiguan chef Recaldo Thomas. A further 15 people were rescued following the ship's horror plummet. Last week, chilling pictures showed the Bayesian resurface for the first time in nearly a year as bystanders watched one of Europe's biggest cranes lift the yacht up from 150ft below the water. The Bayesian was then transported about 15 miles along the coast to the port of Termini Imerese. The multimillion-pound vessel was pulled onto a specially made steel cradle at the port. An interim report by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch said the yacht had a 'vulnerability' to lighter winds but the owner and crew would not have known. It added it had 'limited verified evidence' as the criminal probe in Italy had restricted its access. Italian prosecutors are conducting a criminal investigation into the yacht's sudden sinking. They are probing the ship's skipper New Zealand national James Cutfield, Brit chief engineer Tim Parker Eaton, and deckhand Matthew Griffiths, for potential manslaughter and causing a shipwreck. Inside the Bayesian's final 16 minutes By Ellie Doughty, Foreign News Reporter Data recovered from the Bayesian's Automatic Identification System (AIS) breaks down exactly how it sank in a painful minute-by-minute timeline. At 3.50am on Monday August 19 the Bayesian began to shake "dangerously" during a fierce storm, Italian outlet Corriere revealed. Just minutes later at 3.59am the boat's anchor gave way, with a source saying the data showed there was "no anchor left to hold". After the ferocious weather ripped away the boat's mooring it was dragged some 358 metres through the water. By 4am it had began to take on water and was plunged into a blackout, indicating that the waves had reached its generator or even engine room. At 4.05am the Bayesian fully disappeared underneath the waves. An emergency GPS signal was finally emitted at 4.06am to the coastguard station in Bari, a city nearby, alerting them that the vessel had sunk. Early reports suggested the disaster struck around 5am local time off the coast of Porticello Harbour in Palermo, Sicily. The new data pulled from the boat's AIS appears to suggest it happened an hour earlier at around 4am. Some 15 of the 22 onboard were rescued, 11 of them scrambling onto an inflatable life raft that sprung up on the deck. A smaller nearby boat - named Sir Robert Baden Powell - then helped take those people to shore. The huge £20million recovery undertaking was plagued by delays and more tragedy - after a diver working on the operation died last month. Robcornelis Maria Huijben Uiben, 39, died when working 160ft below the ocean alongside other workers - just days after recovery operations began. This prompted some locals to believe that the sunken ship is "cursed". Floating cranes, remote-controlled robots, and specialist divers amongst other marine experts were brought in to recover the vessel. "He wore a balaclava, carried a cruel blade and stabbed his victim several times. "The public needed protection from Heath, unmasked. "People will rightly question whether the reasons that teenagers are granted anonymity in court apply in this harrowing case." Heath's lawyer Iain McSporran KC told the court: 'She was an entirely innocent victim in this dreadful crime.' Jailing him at the High Court in Glasgow last December, Judge Lord Arthurson said: 'This was an appalling and cowardly attack on a vulnerable and defenceless young mother. 'She was in the wrong place at the wrong time while you were intoxicated by drugs and armed with a large, lethal bladed weapon.' We told in March how the 18-year sentence imposed by Lord Arthurson was reduced to 14 years on appeal. Lawyers for Heath successfully argued that the punishment breached guidelines to encourage more lenient sentences for the under-25s. Judges at the Court of Criminal Appeal agreed — despite calling the offence 'shocking'. Lord Matthews ruled: 'The sentence was more akin to that which might have been imposed on an adult offender.' Dad Philip said last night: 'It was disgraceful — a complete breach of their duty of care for our daughter.' He told how the mix-up began after a chaperone accompanied the pupil in a taxi from the family home in Abernethy, Perthshire, to the school, which has a unit for children with special needs. Philip explained: 'When the chaperone dropped her off and handed her over to the school staff, they failed to acknowledge she was there. They let her through two security doors.' But instead of being taken to her classroom, the girl was allowed to stray and was able to hide inside a toilet without anyone noticing. The vulnerable youngster then spent the rest of the school day by herself without any fluids — on a day when temperatures in Perth hit 24°C (75°F) by noon. Her parents claim the blunder was only noticed after the same person arrived to pick her up. Philip, a joiner, continued: 'My child was left unsupervised for six hours, right through the day. 'When the chaperone arrived at 3pm to collect her, the school didn't even know she was there.' There was then a 'frantic' search of the building by teachers and others before the girl was found in a loo. And she was 'in a state' when she arrived home, her dad recalled. He said: 'My daughter was sweating, anxious and confused. Had there been a fire or an emergency, she wouldn't have gotten out of the school because of the security doors. 'And if anyone doesn't turn up in class, the staff should contact the parents via email or phone. But they failed to do either of those. They were negligent in failing to register our child.' Last night a spokesman for Perth and Kinross Council said it could not comment on individual circumstances, but said 'any situation which adversely impacts on the safety and wellbeing' of children is of 'significant concern'. They said 'such circumstances' would be investigated and they would work with parents or carers 'to understand why any incident occurred and to take meaningful steps towards resolution to prevent any recurrence'.
