Lexus LFR Supercar Interior Revealed

Lexus LFR Supercar Interior Revealed

Motor 1a day ago
The
new Toyota/Lexus sports car duo
is back for day two at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Both the road-going model and its race car counterpart have already climbed the famous hill again, but what really caught our attention was the post-run interview with the development drivers.
We've learned that the cars have been in the works for over four years, with circuit testing kicking off about a year and a half ago. They're still not quite finished, but judging by the interior, the official reveal can't be far off. Since there are no press shots available yet, we'll have to make do with screenshots from the livestream, which show the cabin of the street-legal version.
We used Photoshop and a bit of AI wizardry to enhance the brightness and exposure of the top image, bringing out more details. The unedited screenshot is attached right above. Featuring a predominantly red interior, the LFR
(name confirmed)
comes with a pair of carbon bucket seats separated by a wide center console. While a manual gearbox was never realistically expected, the new Lexus
(or is it
Toyota
?)
supercar features a small selector for the automatic transmission.
The two-tone dashboard hosts a decently sized touchscreen and what appear to be physical switches located just below. Unfortunately, there are also some piano black accents and hexagonal side air vents. Much like the instrument cluster, the rearview mirror is digital, displaying footage from a rear-facing camera. Overall, the cabin feels more like that of a true sports car compared to the
RC F
it's supposedly replacing.
That would make sense, considering the LFR is believed to be a road-going version of the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT3.
Lexus
still won't confirm what powers the two-seater coupe, but based on the sounds both cars are making at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a V-8 seems highly likely. Whether it's twin-turbocharged and/or hybrid remains to be seen, though that's what reports from Japan are claiming.

The GR GT3 is expected to start racing in 2026, four years after the
namesake concept
debuted at the Tokyo Auto Salon. That suggests the wait is nearly over, not just for the race car, but also for its street-legal counterpart. The Toyota version will likely remain track-only, while the Lexus is expected to be the one with a license plate.
Look for both to be revealed either later this year or in early 2026.

‘You Made the Right Choice:' Woman Buys ‘Cheap' 16-Year-Old Lexus to Avoid Car Payments. Then She Shows Its Advanced Features

A woman who bought a used Lexus wasn't just happy about avoiding monthly payments; she was stoked about the car's features. Maddy (@madisonloraye) happily documented the car's 'buttons' in a viral TikTok that's garnered over 9 million views. While some folks rejected Maddy's assertion that her car was 'cheap,' others applauded her decision to buy a car from the luxury manufacturer. In the TikTok, Maddy records herself as she sits inside the car, surrounded by its tan leather interior. She writes in a text overlay, 'the cheap car I got not to have a car payment,' which is capped off by a party emoji. Following this, she begins to highlight her Lexus's features. First up is a cup holder cover, which is activated by pressing down on a wood-trim panel. Furthermore, the center console sports a similar mechanism, with its own dedicated open and close buttons. Additionally, she shows off yet another cup holder, which is situated left of the driver's steering wheel. Maddy then demonstrates the holder's efficacy by placing an iced coffee inside it. To cap off the video, she keys the car on. As she does so, the steering wheel automatically adjusts itself, returning to the driver's previous settings. New Car Payments: A Bad Investment Throngs of financial experts agree that one of the most blatant depreciating assets people purchase is a new car. Consequently, there are many who caution against folks signing on the dotted line for a new vehicle. GoBankingRates cited several money mavens, including Dave Ramsey, who illustrated just how much value new cars lose in relatively short amounts of time. On Ramsey's website , he delineates that brand-new vehicles immediately lose 9% to 11% of their value right after customers sign on the dotted line. In an interview with CNBC , self-made millionaire David Bach called buying a new car 'the single worst financial decision' someone can make. Suze Orman also opined on other, invisible costs that are incurred when folks purchase a new car. The thousands of dollars one loses in depreciation could be better invested elsewhere, even if it's just accruing interest in a high-yield savings account. The Used Car Rule Yahoo Finance also covered Dave Ramsey's five reasons why used car purchases are smarter financial moves. Again, this is largely attributed to the high depreciation costs associated with newer vehicles. A car's greatest depreciation levels occur in the first three years after it rolls off the assembly line. Moreover, the financial expert adds that some vehicles can depreciate as much as 60% after just five years. Not to mention, insurance rates on used cars are often less than their newer counterparts, saving drivers even more money. Other money whizzes say that the 'sweet spot' for a pre-owned vehicle is usually one that's 3 to 4 years old. And there are several reasons for this. Oftentimes, many of these cars have only had one previous owner. Furthermore, they will still have some mileage left on their manufacturer's warranty. This can offer commuters some peace of mind when it comes to covering critical, high-expenditure components. Additionally, this time period ensures that folks are acquiring a relatively newer car. However, the first person who bought the car is the one who's bearing the brunt of its depreciation. Which means you're left with lower monthly payments, especially if you put down a substantial amount of cash. Or, if you can afford it, you can erase interest expenditures altogether by purchasing the car outright. Lexus: A History of Reliability Of course, used cars come with a slew of concerns. It's difficult to know whether or not the car's been serviced properly, or if whoever purchased it ended up getting a lemon they're now trying to foist on an unsuspecting victim. Opting for brands with historically high dependability marks, like Lexus, is likely a safer bet than most. Consumer Reports has consistently ranked Lexus in the top two spots in used car reliability for years, along with its non-luxury parent company, Toyota. Although the agency did give the top spot to Subaru in 2025, Lexus and Toyota didn't trail far behind. Used Car Purchase Check-List When perusing the market for a used vehicle, prospective buyers can follow a few rules to help mitigate their worries. First, utilize a service like Carfax to find a car with no accident history. Service records on cars are also included in the vehicle history report, so you can make sure the car's been properly cared for. Next, locating a car with a single owner can ensure that the vehicle is one that someone loved enough to drive for several years. If a car's been passed around like a hot potato, this can indicate it has a problematic history. Also, buying certified pre-owned vehicles means commuters are getting cars with limited warranties that have been given multi-point inspections. Sure, they'll be more expensive than a car one buys in a Walmart parking lot , but at least you can be sure the check engine lights won't be covered with pieces of black electrical tape. Finally, used car buyers may want to consider shelling out $150-$200 for a pre-purchase inspection before buying. This way, a mechanic can ascertain whether or not there are any glaring problems with the vehicle to consider prior to purchase. Motorway shut after serious multi-vehicle crash

A major motorway was shut in one direction after a serious collision involving multiple vehicles. National Highways said the M40 northbound in Buckinghamshire was closed at about 01:30 BST. The closure was in place between Beaconsfield and the Denham interchange, which connects motorists with the M25. "We expect the road to remain closed until 08:00, possibly longer," a Highways spokesperson said. "This is due to a serious collision on approach to junction two involving several vehicles." Police, fire and ambulance services all attended the scene and a diversion was put in place. The Denham interchange at junction 1a is used by motorists wanting to access London Heathrow Airport. Joining with the M25, it also provides onward journeys to the M1, M4 and M11. National Highways advised motorists to factor delays into their journey times. 2026 Subaru Uncharted Review: Expert Insights, Pricing, and Trims

Subaru's electric vehicle lineup expands with the introduction of the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, a compact electric SUV that's smaller than the Solterra. With its unique name, this new addition pushes Subaru further into the world of off-road-capable electric vehicles. Small electric SUV competitors include the Hyundai Kona Electric, Chevrolet Equinox EV, and related Toyota C-HR Electric. What's New The debut of the Uncharted this year follows introductions of the Solterra for 2023 and Trailseeker also for 2026. The standard configuration of Subaru's newest small electric compact SUV is expected to include: Basics All-electric dual-motor powertrain Several driver-assist features Exterior Fastback styling Set of 18-inch wheels Power liftgate Interior Large infotainment touchscreen Heated front seats and steering wheel This page will be updated with more insights and photos as information becomes available. Top-Ranked Competitors: Hyundai Kona Electric Volvo EX30 Chevrolet Equinox EV Performance Like the Solterra and Toyota C-HR Electric, the Uncharted rides on the latter automaker's e-TNGA architecture. The SUV will receive standard dual-motor AWD, as well as drive modes for snow, dirt, and mud. It should produce plenty of power, too. The C-HR Electric and 2026 Solterra XT each make an impressive 338 hp, which should enable launches to 60 mph in roughly 5 seconds with the Uncharted. The Hyundai Kona Electric AWD is a rival, though not quite on the same level in terms of output; the Kona long-range, the most powerful version, makes just 201 hp. In MotorTrend testing, this SUV needed a protracted 7.1 seconds to reach 60 mph. EV Range and Charging Uncharted models will come with a 74.7-kWh battery that could enable as much as 290 miles of driving range. Vehicles will come with a North American Charging System port, which opens access to Tesla Supercharger terminals. Under the right conditions, charging from 10 to 80 percent will take approximately 30 minutes with Level 3 charging. The baby ute also features a built-in 11-kW AC charger for Level 2 home charging. By comparison, the Kona Electric can go about 261 miles per charge. It also charges more slowly, going from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 43 minutes. Safety Features Subaru calls its suite of driver assists EyeSight. Standard features will include: Automatic emergency braking Side and rear cross-traffic alert Blind-spot monitoring Lane keeping Adaptive cruise control Road sign recognition Automatic high beams Rain-sensing windshield wipers Parking sensors How Big Is the Uncharted? Because of its relatively small size, slotting under the Solterra in Subaru's lineup, you can think of the Uncharted as the Crosstrek of the electric SUV lineup—basically the smallest of the bunch. If it gets standard cargo space comparable to the C-HR Electric, that means about 25.4 cubic feet behind the second row. That's almost the same as the Kona Electric, which gets 25.5 cubes, and more than the 2025 CrossTrek, which comes with 19.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Technology Infotainment Pulling again from the C-HR's specs, as well as from the updated Solterra, look for the Uncharted to feature a 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Dual wireless phone chargers and front and rear USB ports will also be included. Sound System The base setup gets six speakers. Subaru will also offer an eight-speaker Harmon Kardon upgrade. Available Upgrades A digital rearview mirror, 360 camera, power front seats, and driver's seat memory are expected, as are exterior and interior styling upgrades. Value Standard Features As with all its SUVs, Subaru supplements the Uncharted's tech, like its big touchscreen and generous suite of safety features, with good driving dynamics and some off-road capability. Although charging the Uncharted can be relatively quick, its driving range is only average. Carmakers in Cahoots—the Subaru-Toyota Partnership Toyota has owned a stake in Subaru for the last couple decades, and the two car companies collaborate on vehicle development to share resources and reduce costs. Cooperation these days is mostly on electric SUVs, like the Toyota bZ/Subaru Solterra, Toyota bZ Woodland/Subaru Trailseeker, and Toyota C-HR Electric/Subaru Uncharted. The roots of the partnership go back even further, however. For 2012, Subaru introduced the fun-to-drive BRZ RWD sport coupe, virtually identical to the Toyota-produced Scion FR-S, which ultimately became the Toyota GR86. This first car from the team-up entered its second generation for 2021 and is still available today.
