Man arrested after Auckland police car ramming
A 44-year-old man is facing charges after he was alleged to have repeatedly rammed a police car yesterday morning. Relieving Counties Manukau East Area Commander, Inspector Rakana Cook said police had been investigating since the stolen vehicle was seen running a red light near Carbine Rd in Mt Wellington shortly before 2.30am. "One of our frontline units signalled this vehicle to stop, and after driving erratically it came to a stop," he said. "It's at this point the four-wheel drive was allegedly used to repeatedly ram our patrol vehicle before fleeing the scene." He said no police staff were injured during the incident.
