Tom Hiddleston's fiance Zawe Ashton reveals 'toxic' messages after wedding claim
The couple met in 2019 while co-starring in the stage show Betrayal, confirming their relationship two years later in 2021 after mounting rumours.
Loki star Tom popped the question in 2022, and the pair welcomed their first child the same year.
Last month, Zoe confirmed the couple were expecting their second child amid rumours they had married in secret.
A story in Vogue sharing the announcement referred to Tom as her 'husband', with The Marvels star Zawe explaining to Miquita Oliver on the Miss Me? podcast how the situation unfolded.
'We've been engaged for a long time,' she explained. 'There are … I think there have been publications that have named us husband and wife already.'
The Fresh Meat actor revealed that they had received 'toxic paragraphs' from family members when questioned about the rumoured marriage, confirming that they had not eloped.
'Those text messages were very … there's some toxic paragraphs that were thrown my way! Like 'uh, okay, no invite? Whatever.' It's like, no, no, no. It didn't happen. We didn't do it in secret. We haven't eloped.'
She went on to say that she and Tom do call each other husband and wife, which adds to the confusion.
'It's just a semantics thing,' she said, adding: 'I think at some point you're like 'girlfriend, boyfriend' … with a kid and another one on the way? Does that feel right?'
Miquita joked that the couple might have to set a date soon, to which Zawe responded: 'Yeah, but it's also p*****g off people who are actually married. So like, you realise that's just like … not real, yet.'
The Velvet Buzzsaw star said she and Tom had considered getting married in 'different ways' over the years.
Tom is notoriously private about his relationship with Zawe after being linked to pop sensation Taylor Swift in 2016.
Addressing the relationship and his need for privacy, he told The Telegraph: 'Everyone is entitled to a private life. I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment and in my mind I don't conflict the two. More Trending
'My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life. And those two things are separate.'
He previously praised Swift to GQ, calling her an 'amazing woman.'
The Avengers star continued: 'You have to fight for love. You can't live in fear of what people might say. You know, you have to be true to yourself.
'I have to be so psychologically strong about not letting other people's interpretations about my life affect my life. A relationship exists between two people. We will always know what it was.'

'My friend plans to name her baby after a TV demon - I put my foot down'
A woman shared how she discouraged her friend from naming their baby something outlandish and bizarre, saying that she'd done the world a service by dissuading her Naming a baby is no small feat, and parents will likely deliberate for most of the pregnancy on what they want to call their bundle of joy. From unique monikers to more traditional names, there are so many considerations parents will make. You don't want something that will appear again and again on their school's register, but also nothing so outlandish that you may open them up to bullying. That's why, when one woman's friend was discussing baby name options with her, she felt that she had to speak up against the name and be completely honest. Her friend was going to name her baby after a TV demon. Taking to Reddit, the woman explained: "My friend told me she was pregnant with her first child, which was super exciting. (This was a face-to-face interaction.) So I asked, 'Do you have any thoughts about the name?' "She responds, 'Well, if it's a girl, I will name her Mazikeen'. (Pronounced kinda like if you said magazine backwards lol). "Apparently, the name is from a demon that is on the show Lucifer… "I truly thought she was joking, so I laughed and said something along the lines of 'lol no way what'. "She then proceeded to explain the name origin, to which I continued to think she was joking and said 'you're going to name your child after a demon… suuuure'." Because of how truthful she was in the interaction, her friend decided not to use the name for her baby. "Thankfully, the baby wasn't named that after all, and I feel somewhat responsible for the decision. Another win for any other human names on planet earth," she joked. In the comments of the post, people highlighted that the name had a much deeper meaning than just a TV demon. One wrote: "Mazakeen is a supernatural entity in Jewish mythology. It's a harmful spirit. That's a lot of bad juju for a baby! The DC comics people used it, and then the show used it". Another replied: "The worst part is the kid would meet people brought up on Jewish mythology who would have terrible associations to it. Like people naming their kid Loki/Loke. They might think Marvel, Scandinavians will not". Somebody defended the name Loki, however, saying: "At least Loki is primarily known for being a mischievous trickster, nowhere near being a demon, and shows/retellings often make him cool in various ways, so there's a positive underdog association to him. Leagues better than naming your kid after a demon or malicious spirit". Some shared that it was more of a "pet name" than one for a baby, and the Redditor added that her friend was saving the name for her "next pet bird".

Hailey Bieber shares very rare snap of son Jack Blues amid baby number 2 rumours
Businesswoman and model Hailey Bieber has delighted fans by sharing a very rare glimpse into her motherhood journey amid rumours that she and husband Justin are planning their second baby Proud mum Hailey Bieber has shared a rare snap of her son Jack Blues ahead of his first birthday. Hailey, 28, and her husband Justin Bieber, 30, welcomed their son in August and the couple announced the birth on August 23, 2024. They had previously announced Hailey's pregnancy in May after keeping it under wraps for months on end. Taking to Instagram on Sunday night, Hailey posted a very rare photo of her nearly one-year old son playing in the grass one a sunny summer day. It comes after Justin marked an incredible milestone after months of 'marriage woes' and fan concern. The sweet snap saw her blonde-haired little boy don a neon green pair of dungarees as he sat in the grass. Model and influencer Hailey captioned the post: "Summer things part 1". The photo dump also included several seflies and some home-cooked food content. The sweet snap of baby Jack Blues comes after it was reported that Hailey is ready to try for a second baby with husband Justin - but only if they can step back from the public eye. Despite complications during the birth of Jack Blues last August, which led to Hailey fearing for her life, the model and socialite is understood to want to extend her family. An insider said: "Hailey wants to have a second child with Justin as long as they can step back from the public eye a little bit. "She loves working on her company [Rhode Skin] and modelling, but she feels she would need some time away from the madness so she could be truly zen with it all and really enjoy the pregnancy." Hailey and Justin's plans come despite speculation of marital difficulties earlier this year, claims that Hailey strongly refutes. Fans shared their concern when Justin unfollowed his wife on social media. But sources understand two-time Grammy winner Justin, who married Hailey in 2018, is eager to have a second child too. The insider told Mail Online: "While he might appear out of step at times, the truth is he's quite down-to-earth and cherishes being a dad." Yet, if Hailey does fall pregnant again, it is believed she will want to stay near her home in Los Angeles - although her modelling career does involve travel. The entrepreneur, who was modelled for Vogue, likes being a "top dog" in the industry, the source added. "She will travel for work because she likes being a 'top dog' in the modeling world, but if she is pregnant again she will want to do her shoots closer to home. "That's pretty normal for any woman; no one wants to jet-set all over the globe with a baby bump and a stroller," the source continued. Hailey launched her skincare and beauty brand Rhode in 2022, sold the company to e.l.f. Beauty in a blockbuster $1 billion acquisition deal in May. The mum of one remains as the chief creative officer and head of innovation for the brand. But her first pregnancy was traumatic, and culminated in an 18-hour labour, which the actor called "the hardest thing I've ever done". Hailey told Vogue: "That s**t was so crazy. That was not fun. "They broke my water. I went into labour and I laboured for a few hours. No epidural, nothing." After labour, she experienced a postpartum haemorrhage, which she feared she wouldn't survive.
