Rab Thomson has had his bid for freedom denied by the parole board

He stabbed his son Ryan, seven, and disabled daughter Michelle, 25, multiple times and left them in their beds.
His then-wife, June, walked into the family home in Buckhaven, Fife, in 2008 and found their lifeless bodies.
Thomson was caged for a minimum of 17 years for the depraved murders.
We previously told how June, who now stays at a secret address, lives "in terror" at the prospect of Thomson being freed.
But a parole hearing this month led to the sicko being denied freedom.
Richard Baker, Labour MP for Glenrothes and Mid Fife, has told how Thomson's parole bid has been knocked back, as reported by the Daily Record.
He said: "Rab Thomson, who killed his son, seven, and disabled daughter in Buckhaven in 2008, has been denied parole.
"My wife, Claire Baker MSP and I, who wrote to the board seeking this outcome, welcome the decision. I'm sure many people in Levenmouth will feel the same."
June fled violent Thomson after suffering beatings and sexual assaults at his hands.
She said: "I've lived in terror of this day coming, knowing that Rab would apply for parole the second he possibly could.
Two men rushed to hospital after rammy outside Scots pub
"Rab always warned me that if I dared to leave him, I would regret that day for the rest of my life.
"If I had only known he intended murdering Michelle and Ryan, I would have stayed and put up with the continued rapes and beatings inflicted on me, rather than lose my precious children.
"I still hear their screams of terror in my nightmares when they realised it was their own father stabbing them."
June added: "No amount of time in jail would suffice for what he had done, but just 17 years for what he did to my children was not nearly long enough. All this time, I have lived in dread of him getting free.
"Now that day is becoming a reality. After years of beatings, I am almost blind. I also suffer from severe mobility and balance problems."

Major search and rescue mission in Blackpool after man swept out to sea with rescuers thrown overboard
Four rescuers were also injured due to the strong winds and dangerous waves SEA TERROR Major search and rescue mission in Blackpool after man swept out to sea with rescuers thrown overboard Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MAJOR rescue mission was launched after a man was swept out to sea after "struggling with the waves". Cops and paramedics raced to the scene close to the Central Pier in Blackpool on Friday following reports of a member of the public having difficulty in the water. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Cops and paramedics launched a rescue operation after a member of the public was seen struggling in the water Four members of the rescue team suffered injuries during the brave rescue. A helicopter was dispatched after a wave slammed a boat and threw one of the crew members backwards. One of the crew members then said they saw a member of the public "struggling with the waves" around 30 metres out at sea. "It was windy with significant and strong waves," a statement issued today by the coastguard said. "We'd had a report of a possible sighting just off Central Pier so the Blackpool ILB launched and we sent rescuers from our team and Lytham down to the surfline to support. "It was an extremely challenging launch for the boat crew and the boat got hit by several big waves, one of which swamped the boat throwing one of the crew members backwards the full length into the helmsman causing injury and requiring an immediate abort of the operation and a recovery of the ILB. "One team of Coastguards on the beach continued to search South and another searched North. Within a few minutes the North team issued an immediate call on the radio to state the casualty had been spotted struggling in the waves about 30m out. "Already equipped with water rescue personal protective equipment one of our coastguard rescue officers entered the water tethered to another to effect an immediate rescue. "It was an extremely challenging push to reach the casualty he had to push and swim through the same waves that had just hindered the inshore lifeboat and chase the casualty, who was at the mercy of the tidal currents." The statement continued: "The injured lifeboat crewmember was already receiving care in another ambulance. "The three Coastguards who had entered the water were suffering from water ingestion, mild hypothermia, exhaustion and one suspected sprained/broken ankle. "They were taken into the boathouse to recover and receive assessment from paramedics. "It was determined that two would need to go to hospital, as well as the lifeboat crewman, for further assessment." More to follow...
