Albion have no need to rush over Mitoma deal - as stars return to work
Fitness testing starts tomorrow, 40 days on from the 4-1 win at Tottenham which completed the 2024-25 season.

Players who have been away on international duty can report back a little later.
They include Under-21s Euros winner Jack Hinshelwood, who was back at the Amex yesterday as the club opened their enlarged shop and launched their new kits.
With Joao Pedro's move to Chelsea now complete, transfer focus has switched to Kaoru Mitoma and Albion are reported by Sky Sports to be keen to offer him a new contract.
It is unclear whether there are any such plans but Mitoma signed his current contract less than two years ago.
That deal, signed in October 2023 and valid until June 2027, is likely to be financially attractive and take into account the part he played in a sixth-place finish and European qualification.

There is no suggestion of any current offers for his services - while hints at Bayern Munich interest have been played down - and Mitoma is known to enjoy his football with the Seagulls.
Fabian Hurzeler gives verdict as Joao Pedro signs for Chelsea
Hurzeler has faith - so how do Albion look in attack after Joao Pedro's £60m move?
Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler was non-committal over suggestions of a new contract but convinced Mitoma can play a big part in the coming season for the Seagulls.
Hurzeler said: 'I am really looking forward to seeing hm back and that is the plan.
'We are looking forward to continuing to work with him to try to improve him.
'I still think his limit is not reached yet.'

Chelsea Are Hoping To Land This Bundesliga Playmaker: What Will He Add To Maresca's Side?
In a recent report, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol mentioned that Chelsea are hoping to land Red Bull Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons this summer. It is understood that the Blues are in talks to secure the services of the Dutch attacker this off-season. Simons' Good Record In German Football Last Season Simons enjoyed a decent run of form at the German club in the previous campaign. The Dutch sensation found the back of the net 11 times and earned eight assists in 33 matches for RB Leipzig last season across various competitions. The 22-year-old deserves some credit for averaging 2.09 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He kept 46% of his attempts on target. Simons was even tidy when distributing possession in the opponent's half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 78.6% in the German top tier (stats via His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Chelsea would have to make a good offer if they want to lure Simons to Stamford Bridge this off-season. LEIPZIG, GERMANY – APRIL 05: Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig looks on during the Bundesliga match between RB Leipzig and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at Red Bull Arena on April 05, 2025 in Leipzig, Germany. (Photo by) What Will Simons Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca's Side? Simons is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it in and around the opponent's penalty area. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. The Dutch talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a wide player if told to do so by his manager. However, only time will tell whether he can handle the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. Simons would add more quality and dynamism to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca's frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming seasons. At 22, Simons has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, it makes sense for the Blues to go all out to bring him on board in this transfer window. However, Maresca has to give him some time before he can get the best out of the talented attacker at Stamford Bridge.
