Eiza González pens emotional note to boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov after heartbreaking Wimbledon exit
In an emotional message shared on her Instagram Stories, the Mexican actress and singer emphasized how this setback will only make Dimitrov 'stronger' following his abrupt third-set retirement against top seed Jannik Sinner.
'Love of my life. I couldn't be more proud of you,' González, 35, began. 'You are BEYOND outstanding. This is just a moment that will pass and will make you even stronger. But watching you today alongside the world was a reminder of who YOU are. You are a winner. We all saw it. And you'll do it again. I love you @grigordimitrov.'

González, who went public with her relationship with Dimitrov, 34, in May, had been supporting the Bulgarian athlete at the All England Club, where he chased his first Grand Slam singles win.

That run came to a heartbreaking end Monday when Dimitrov was forced to retire with a right pectoral muscle injury.

The former world No. 3 reached for his pec and knelt on the grass after serving to Sinner in the third set.

'He's been so unlucky in the past couple of years. An incredible player. A good friend of mine, also. We understand each other very well, off the court, too,' said Sinner, who dropped the first two sets against Dimitrov.
'I hope he has a speedy recovery.'

Dimitrov has been forced to retire in five consecutive Grand Slams, including last year at Wimbledon against Daniil Medvedev due to a groin injury.
Sinner, currently grappling with an elbow injury, will face Ben Shelton Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
The three-time Grand Slam champion told reporters he will have an MRI exam Tuesday 'to see if there's something serious.'

NEW YORK (AP) — Las Vegas star A'ja Wilson injured her right wrist on a drive to the basket Tuesday night against the New York Liberty and left the game midway through the second quarter. The three-time MVP had a quiet first half before getting hurt with 4:13 left in the period. Wilson drove down the lane and landed awkwardly. She was on the floor for a few minutes as her Aces teammates rushed over to her side. Wilson got up and walked to the Las Vegas bench to an ovation from the Barclays Center crowd. Wilson made the first of two free throws — her only point of the half. She departed with 2:22 left in the half and headed to the locker room. She missed all three of her shot attempts but had four rebounds and two assists. Wilson came in averaging 21.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Earlier in the night, Wilson was selected by Caitlin Clark to play on her team at the All-Star Game on July 19 in Indianapolis.
