Marriage joy for Nathan Cleary and his family after the footy superstar and Mary Fowler shot down rumours about their romance

Daily Mail3 days ago
Wedding bells are ringing for the Cleary family with the happy news that Penrith star Nathan's sister Indi is engaged to her partner Aden Perry.
The couple made the heartwarming announcement on Instagram on Saturday, showing their followers photos of Indi showing off her engagement ring in front of a mountain range, and holding hands with her man as they celebrated with some champagne.
Cleary captioned the post, 'Forever with my best friend,' adding a white-heart emoji.
The revelation drew messages of congratulations from footy stars past and present like Scott Sorensen, Mitch Kenny and Cooper Johns.
Fowler wrote, 'So beautiful, congrats,' adding a heart and smiling face with halo emoji.
Indi Cleary was recently spotted dining with Mary and Nathan at a top Sydney restaurant as her brother and the Matildas star shot down rumours their romance was going through a rocky patch.
The family meal at Totti's Italian eatery in the city's inner west is the latest in a list of signs that speculation their relationship was in trouble was off the mark.
Out-of-character moves by both stars on social media, coupled with the fact Nathan wasn't there to greet Fowler when she flew into Sydney, seemed to point to a change in their dynamic.
However, Mary was then spotted cheering Nathan on as his Panthers beat the Wests Tigers last Saturday, followed by the couple smiling and laughing as they were photographed leaving Penrith headquarters together last Sunday.
Fowler was smiling and laughing as she and Cleary left the club's training facilities after she was seen cheering him on from the stands as the defending premiers ran out big winners over Wests Tigers in round 22 of the NRL.
She also visited him at his home in Sydney's west a few days beforehand, looking tense as she left.
The couple also appear to have had a date night at a tenpin bowling alley, where they were photographed posing with a Panthers fan in a heartwarming snap.
A series of eye-opening changes by the couple on social media first gave rise to speculation about their relationship earlier this month.
When Fowler flew into Sydney on July 16, Cleary - who's usually with her when she arrives and departs at the airport - was nowhere to be seen.
More signs were there for all to see on social media.
Cleary has long had a pair of paw prints on his Instagram bio, likely as a nod to the Panthers. Fowler had the same emojis on her account - until she dropped them recently.
Ever since they got together, the couple have regularly shared and liked posts from and about each other, but that also changed in the last few weeks.
In an unusual move, Mary didn't immediately like Nathan's raw post about the embarrassment he felt after NSW fell to a heavy loss in the Origin decider against Queensland, in which he referenced the 'self-loathing and hurt' that come with defeat.
She has since liked that post while she's been Down Under.

Sydney Chandler describes experience on the Alien: Earth TV series as ‘a joy'

Sydney Chandler has described her first experience of leading a cast in the new sci-fi drama Alien: Earth as a 'joy'. The 29-year-old American actress plays Wendy, a humanoid robot with human consciousness, in Emmy-winning producer Noah Hawley's new series based on the acclaimed franchise. Advertisement The Alien franchise began with Sir Ridley Scott's 1979 film starring Sigourney Weaver as warrant officer Ellen Ripley, who takes on an extra-terrestrial lifeform called the Xenomorph. The new eight-episode series sees Wendy and a group of tactical soldiers make a discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat. Director Noah Hawley and producer David W Zucker with the cast of Alien: Earth (Ian West/PA) Chandler, who starred in Olivia Wilde's psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling and Danny Boyle's miniseries Pistol, about the Sex Pistols, said she was lucky to have such a supportive cast for her first lead role. 'I felt like every day I was showing up to an incredible acting class,' Chandler told the PA news agency. Advertisement 'I'm new to this game, and so it was just a joy to be able to work with such a supportive and such a giving cast who were there to play.' Speaking of her character, she said: 'There's so many layers to her and she's just a juicy character to jump into. 'I did as much prep as you can for a character, there's no research you could do. 'I really found my character once I started working off everybody.' Advertisement Alien: Earth is set in the year 2120, when the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this corporate era, cyborgs and synthetics, which are humanoid robots with artificial intelligence, exist alongside humans, but the world is changed when the founder of the Prodigy corporation unlocks a technological advance: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). Wendy, the first hybrid prototype, marks a new advance in the race for immortality and after Weyland-Yutani's spaceship collides into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter new and terrifying life forms. The cast includes Deadwood actor Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, Black Mirror star Alex Lawther as Hermit, Mary And George's Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, Guerrilla actor Babou Ceesay as Morrow and Bottom star Adrian Edmondson as Atom Eins. Advertisement Samuel Blenkin plays Boy Kavalier in Alien: Earth (Ian West/PA) Blenkin said the filming experience was made a lot easier due to Hawley's practical approach to special effects. 'We were lucky on this show because we're not doing much acting with tennis balls or anything like that that you do in a show where there's a lot of CGI,' the 29-year-old actor explained. 'Noah was really intent upon everything being practical. 'There's no acting required when Cameron, the vegan New Zealander, is wearing a Xenomorph suit and is leering over you and drooling, and it's animatronic and it's real. Advertisement 'It was just a joy. We turn into kids on those sets.' Hawley, who is best known for creating the Fargo TV series, said the 'imperfections of reality are scarier than the sort of bloodlessness of computer-generated images'. 'All I'm trying to do is create the same feelings that you had when you watched Ridley's film or James Cameron's film,' the 57-year-old writer and director explained. 'Some of that we're able to achieve in new ways, but some of it is literally going back to the original cinema of optical illusions.' Alien: Earth will launch on Disney+ on August 13th.

Dani captioned the post: "No but honestly GOD FORBID a girls tryna have fun." One follower commented: "How do you feel about being outed on love island last night? ‘Upset' Queen's cutting remark about Meghan & Harry's wedding ‘revealed' – and what she REALLY thought about guest list

THE late Queen was "upset"' at Meghan Markle's plans for her and Harry's wedding at Windsor Castle, a close friend of her cousin has claimed. Queen Elizabeth II is said to have been unhappy with the couple's guest list for the event and the pair inviting "random" celebrities instead of family members. 5 Sally Bedell Smith, a royal biographer, said the queen was left exasperated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's plans. The late Queen reportedly said: "But it's my house - and I'm paying for it" when confronted with the plans for the Windsor Castle event. She was also said to have been "annoyed" when the pair went directly to the Archbishop of Canterbury to ask him to marry them in St George's Chapel in May 2018. Harry's grandmother was more excited about Princess Eugenie's wedding in October that year, according to the Daily Mail. Ms Bedell Smith claims that Meghan then announced her pregnancy on the same day and then went on to say that the timing of the announcement had been "rude." She spoke at length with the late Queen's cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson, who in turn spoke with the late Queen towards the end of her life. Lady Anson was born in Windsor Castle and was a great-niece of the Queen Mother and a goddaughter of King George VI. She was a party planner and was known as Liza to close friends and family. Bedall Smith claimed in a new podcast that the late queen was upset about her lack of involvement in the Sussex's wedding planning. Harry and Meghan made the Queen's last years a complete misery - they'll NEVER be forgiven Lady Anson made an attempt to console her by telling her she could look forward to the Royal Ascot and Princess Eugenie's wedding. Despite her first cousin's best efforts her majesty remained upset. The Royal Family paid for the Sussex's wedding, covering the cost of the service, music, flowers and reception. There were 600 guests invited to a lunchtime reception at St George's Hall which was hosted by the Queen. The reception was then followed by an evening bash for 200 VIPs at Frogmore House, hosted by Harry's father. 5 5 5 Claims were made today however that Harry and Meghan had invited people who barely knew the Royal Family. Sally Bedell Smith told American royal commentator Kinsey Schofield: "Harry and Meghan just disinvited or didn't invite a whole group of family and cousins. "The children of the Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and of the Gloucesters. "She [Meghan] and Harry just 'exed' them out of the guest list and they added all these other random people who barely even knew the Royal Family. "That was just yet another irritation for the Queen." Ms Bedell Smith revealed earlier this year what the late Queen's real thoughts on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their behaviour were. She said that as the wedding approached the queen began to feel "very worried" privately. According to Bedell Smith concerns were raised that Harry was 'Besotted and weak about women." Lady Anson reportedly told Bedell Smith about Meghan: "We hope but don't quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all.' The Sussex's married in May 2018 and Meghan threw herself into royal duties before falling pregnant. Sally Bedell Smith wrote on her Substack: "By late February 2019 when Lady Anson and I spoke on the phone, she said ' I don't trust Meghan an inch. To begin with, she was not bad—a straightforward starlet, used to public speaking and charity work. The wedge between the brothers is really too bad.'" Lady Anson, who worked as a party planner for elites celebrities and royals, tragically passed away in 2020. The queen made her a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order for her outstanding personal service to a British monarch.
