Gaza aid site targeted: Two American workers wounded in suspected grenade attack; GHF blames Hamas
Two American aid workers were injured on Saturday in what has been described as a targeted grenade attack on a humanitarian aid centre in southern Gaza, according to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
The foundation, which is backed by the United States and Israel, said the incident occurred during a food distribution drive at one of its centres in Khan Yunis. The attack reportedly took place at the SDS-3 site at the conclusion of an otherwise successful distribution in which thousands of Gazans had safely received food.
The two workers, both American, sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
GHF said both employees were in stable condition. The Times of Israel also reported that grenades were thrown at the workers.
'This morning, two American aid workers were injured in a targeted terrorist attack during food distribution activities at SDS-3 in Khan Yunis,' the organisation was quoted as saying to news agency AFP. 'Reports indicated it was carried out by two assailants who threw two grenades at the Americans.'

The group added that early signs pointed to "hostile action by Hamas," though investigations are still ongoing. 'Early indication is that this was hostile action by Hamas. GHF continues to investigate and will update with more information as it becomes available,' the statement added.
GHF said its operations would continue despite the attack. The organisation, which began work in Gaza on 26 May after Israel halted supplies through the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, has been distributing food and essential supplies to civilians amid the ongoing conflict.
Operations have frequently been marred by chaotic scenes and near-daily reports of Israeli forces firing on people waiting to collect rations. The United Nations estimates that more than 500 people have been killed while queuing for aid in recent months. The Israeli military has blamed Hamas for such incidents.
GHF noted it had issued multiple warnings about credible threats from Hamas. 'Today's attack tragically affirms those warnings,' the foundation said.

40-day drive ends: Rachakonda declared 'NBW-free'; 2,847 warrants executed
HYDERABAD: In a major crackdown on long-pending criminal cases, Rachakonda police declared the commissionerate 'NBW-free' on Saturday after executing 2,847 non-bailable warrants (NBWs) over the past 40 days. During the special drive, police also found that 52 of the accused were, in fact, deceased. Announcing this at a press conference, Rachakonda commissioner of police G Sudheer Babu said that of the 2,847 NBWs pending as of April 2025, police successfully executed 2,024 warrants. For the remaining 823 accused who could not be traced, the police filed requests in court to issue notices to their sureties and sought proclamation orders under sections 82 and 83 of CrPC and sections 84 and 85 of the new BNSS for property attachment. " This special drive aimed to ensure accountability and restore the rule of law," the commissioner said. ‘I was forced to bury bodies for years': Ex-sanitation worker's chilling claim in Karnataka's Dharmasthala; shares photocopies of skull, skeletal remains with police
Representative Image MANGALURU: In a startling revelation that can unearth - quite literally - long-buried crimes, a former sanitation worker has filed a complaint with Dharmasthala police, claiming he was coerced into secretly disposing of multiple dead bodies over several years. A written complaint, dated July 3, was submitted by the complainant to the office of the superintendent of police and Dharmasthala police station, and a case was registered under BNS on July 4. The complainant further said he had recently returned to one of the burial sites and exhumed skeletal remains of some of the bodies he had buried, photographs of which were submitted to the authorities. In keeping with the complainant's request for anonymity, police have withheld personal details. The complainant has sought legal protection. Complainant offered to identify perpetrators The complainant has offered to identify the perpetrators and reveal the burial sites - potentially opening a Pandora's box. "Colour photocopies of two photographs, showing a skull and some skeletal remains, have been submitted to the police station. While submitting the complaint on behalf of the complainant, his lawyer had issued a written statement that sketches [of those killed] would be submitted to the court at a later stage," police confirmed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esse novo alarme com câmera é quase gratuito em Limeira (consulte o preço) Alarmes Undo Police are yet to confirm the authenticity of some of the skeletal remains that have been found or the exact number of victims. However, the case has already triggered unease in Dharmasthala, a town known more for its spiritual legacy than criminal intrigue. The man, who reportedly worked as a sanitation worker in Dharmasthala from 1995-2014, has alleged he was forced into disposing of dead bodies pertaining to acts of crime. Sensing that his own life could now be in danger, the whistleblower claims to have fled the town, along with his family, and dropped anchor in a neighbouring state -- incognito. In a press release issued on Friday, Dakshina Kannada SP Dr Arun K said: "The complainant has claimed he had secretly disposed of the bodies of those killed due to criminal activities. Now, burdened with guilt, he has expressed his willingness to reveal full details of those involved in the crimes and the locations where the bodies were buried, provided he and his family get legal protection."

Australia synagogue fire: Suspect arrested, charged with arson
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Saturday condemned the synagogue attack as a 'cowardly' act of violence. read more A man walks past the burnt front entrance of the East Melbourne Synagogue in Melbourne on July 6, 2025. Source: AFP A man suspected of setting fire to an Australian synagogue as worshippers ate dinner inside has been arrested and charged, police said Sunday. The 34-year-old allegedly set the front door of a busy Melbourne synagogue ablaze on Friday night as around 20 people ate dinner in observation of Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. The attack has drawn strong condemnation from the prime ministers of both Australia and Israel. Victoria state police charged the man with a string of offences, including reckless conduct endangering life. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'Detectives will continue to examine the intent and ideology of the person charged to determine if the incident is in fact terrorism,' police said in a statement. The worshippers escaped unscathed through the back of the synagogue before firefighters doused the blaze. Police said they were yet to find a link between two other incidents targeting Jewish residents in Melbourne on Friday night. A group of about 20 protesters swarmed an Israeli-owned restaurant, interrupting the dinner service as they chanted at patrons. The protesters allegedly flipped over tables and smashed a window, according to local media. Cars were set on fire and daubed with antisemitic graffiti in a third incident in another part of the city. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Saturday condemned the synagogue attack as a 'cowardly' act of violence. 'And the fact that people were having a peaceful dinner, and (were) disrupted by this act of violence could have had catastrophic consequences,' he said in a statement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was 'reprehensible', while decrying the restaurant incident as a 'violent assault' by 'pro-Palestinian rioters'. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'We demand that the Australian government take all action to deal with the rioters to the fullest extent of the law and prevent similar attacks in the future,' he said. Jewish neighbourhoods in Melbourne and Sydney have in recent months been hit by a wave of antisemitic vandalism. Masked arsonists firebombed a different Melbourne synagogue in December, prompting the government to create a federal task force targeting antisemitism.
