Couple who split over man's clown collection sparks viral Reddit debate

A man who split from his girlfriend of two years because she said she had enough of his 'disturbing' obsession with clowns has sparked a heated debate online. Opened up about the breakup under the Reddit forum entitled 'Am I the A**hole?', the man asked if he was in the wrong for telling his now-ex to 'suck it up' after she complained about his love of clowns. In the now-viral post, he also said he'd been open about his strange fascination with circus jesters from the start and that his house was completely covered in tiny clown figurines: they're 'on walls, hung from the ceiling on little swings, and on shelves'. 'I adore these weird little creatures,' he wrote. The man explained that his girlfriend never seemed to have a problem with them, but she became unhappy after he purchased two new clown masks from a thrift store. He added: 'She said they're creepy and give her "bad vibes," whatever that means. I told her that I would take down the masks when she's staying the night, but I'm not getting rid of them. She told me that was fine.' But a few days later, the man said his girlfriend told him they 'needed to talk'. She then said she was 'sick of seeing his weird decorations and clown toys everywhere' because they 'creep her out' and that the masks were 'her last straw'. 'I asked her where this was all coming from because she has NEVER MENTIONED MY CLOWNS BEFORE and she said me "bringing those ugly f**king masks into our home was her last straw" and "my obsession with clowns was charming before, but now it's just disturbing,"' he shared. In response, the man said he pointed out that it wasn't a home they shared together, but rather, his own apartment, so he could decorate it as he pleased. He also branded her as 'controlling', which lead to her giving him an ultimatum. He explained: 'She told me, "Either get rid of some of them or we're done". I told her to just "suck it up" while she's here. And if she can't then I'll come to HER place every week. 'She didn't like that answer and called me a child before leaving. I texted her to apologize for telling her to suck it up about the clowns. But she hasn't responded to me. So, am I the a**hole for telling her to "suck it up" about my clown figurines?' In an update, the man explained that his girlfriend called to apologize days later, but he hadn't accepted it. He said: 'Turns out she wanted to "see if I'd get rid of my collection if it meant keeping her". Like it was some relationship test. She asked if we could move on from this and I told her no. I don't like that she tried to test my love by asking me to get rid of my collection. 'We're officially broken up now. On the bright side, I can fill my house with more clown dolls. I even found a music box one online that I might get.' Reddit users were fiercely divided in the comment section, with some taking his side and slamming his girlfriend and others admitting that they understood where she was coming from because they too would be creeped out by his infatuation with clowns. Debate: The man's story left people on Reddit divided, with some insisting he did the right thing to end the relationship However, someone else said: 'Nah, an obsession that runs that deep about clowns is just creepy. Like dig up the floorboards creepy and hide little dead children in there creepy.' 'I'm not going to lie bro, people in these comments aren't being real with you. Creepy a** clowns all over your house sounds weird af,' someone else chimed in. 'The way she approached you about it wasn't fair, but I empathize with her,' a third chimed in. In the end, the original poster thanked everyone for their responses and said it confirmed he wasn't 'in the wrong'. 'And to those saying I'm a serial killer for owning clowns, I've read quite a few comments from people collecting dead things. So I think I'm in the clear on that,' he concluded.

Hoist the popcorn and batten down the sofa, Below Deck hits Channel 4 with ocean-deep drama – here are 5 top moments

IT'S THE reality series that's got us all wondering – should we just ditch the day job and set sail on a luxury charter yacht? Below Deck takes us behind the scenes of the glamorous yet chaotic world of yacht charters, where outrageous guests with extravagant demands meet an even more unpredictable crew. 3 From the sparkling waters of the Caribbean to the stunning landscapes of Australia, this franchise (including Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Down Under and Below Deck Sailing Yacht) truly sails across the globe in style. Over the years, this series has delivered countless jaw-dropping dramas and unforgettable moments. To celebrate the new season of Below Deck streaming on E4, we're taking a look back at some all-time favourite moments from the Below Deck family. 1. Drunk dive disaster If there's one thing Below Deck has taught us over the years, it's that you don't mess with the legendary captain Lee. So when notorious charter guest Delores Flora decided to ignore his orders and take a drunken dive into the sea during Season 8, Episode 11, it's safe to say things didn't go smoothly. Concerned for her safety, the enraged captain demanded she return to the yacht immediately. By morning, with a sore head and no sympathy, Delores' antics led to the charter being cut short as she was swiftly sent packing back to shore. 2. Taco-gate Trained chef or convenience connoisseur? Enter chef Mila Kolomeitseva, who found herself in water hotter than the Med during Season 4 of Below Deck Mediterranean. Mila shocked everyone when she served tacos made from a boxed Old El Paso kit to her high-paying charter guests. From soggy nachos to undercooked steaks, it didn't take long for the crew to realise Mila wasn't exactly Michelin material. Things hit rock bottom when captain Sandy Yawn confronted her about her sloppy standards and Mila bizarrely responded by licking a raw steak. Needless to say, she was swiftly fired, paving the way for the return of fan favourite chef Ben Robinson. 3 3. Cake kick-off After tirelessly crafting a stunning birthday cake for a friend of primary guest Charley Walters, chef Kevin Dobson was expecting some appreciation. But during the final group dinner in Season 7, Episode 17, chief steward Kate Chastain left Kevin out of her thank-you toast and he was fuming. Feeling completely disrespected, Kevin snapped and dramatically kicked the cake across the deck before storming off in a huff, leaving the crew stunned. As for the guests? Totally unbothered – they even tucked into the smashed cake without a second thought and the altercation didn't affect their tip. 4. Love triangle ahoy What do you get when you mix a yacht full of young, attractive crew? A juicy love triangle, of course! Enter Malia White on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 2, the green deckhand with a secret fling – chef Adam Glick. But she quickly fell for bosun Wes Walton. Cue drama! As the season unfolded, the triangle fuelled a season of jealousy, squabbling and petty sabotage. In the finale (spoiler alert!), Malia chose the ever-calm Wes, and the pair even holidayed together after the season wrapped, proving it was worth the aggro. 5. Foam party fiasco The aim of the game in the yachting world is to please the guests to get a bigger tip at the end of the charter – but sometimes guest demands are a little crazy. For example, on Below Deck Mediterranean, a guest demanded a foam party, which led to a slippery deck and an injured crew member. Meanwhile on Below Deck Down Under, Season 1, one guest demanded a 24/7 buffet despite it being a meals only table service. The crew improvised to create a snack station, but the guests were horrified it wasn't up to Las Vegas standards.

Gwyneth Paltrow's latest cooking video leaves fans horrified after spotting something 'unacceptable'

Gwyneth Paltrow may know her way around a kitchen - but she may not be as in tune with how to handle trash. The Goop founder, 52, recently posted a video whipping up an intricate, gourmet breakfast for husband Brad Falchuk over the weekend - but it wasn't what she was making that had people talking. In the Instagram post she shared on Saturday, the actress made a lobster benedict for her husband of seven years but it was her disposal of the egg whites that infuriated her followers. In the clip, Gwyneth was seen cracking eggs into a strainer before then appearing to tip the whites directly onto the floor and nonchalantly carrying on with poaching. In her caption for the divisive video, she wrote that she was making a 'paleo lobster benedict for a Hamptons-inspired #boyfriendbreakfast this morning' and accompanied her post to the tune of Phoenix's song Girlfriend. Fans were shocked by the star's apparent mess making - taking to the comment section to share their thoughts. 'Did I just see Gwyneth empty the remnants of the egg whites onto the floor? Tell me I didn't just see that,' an appalled user wrote. 'Where did the whites go? It looked like she threw them on the floor,' added another confused fan. 'Totally pour my egg whites on the floor too,' joked another. 'She may have a servant on standby for cleanup,' chimed in another. But others came to her defense, guessing there must be a bin underneath the counter. 'It must be the under-the-counter bin, nevertheless I was entertained,' laughed one user. The Goop founder has been married to Brad, a television writer known for co-creating massive hits like Glee and American Horror Story, since 2018. The couple do not share any children together but are stepparents to each other's kids. Brad is stepfather to two kids Paltrow shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin — daughter Apple and son Moses. The actress is also stepmother to Isabella and Brody, whom Brad shares with his ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik. Last month, Gwyneth also shared several 'boyfriend breakfast' posts. In one, she revealed what makes her cry and even shed a few tears while cooking, because she had to cut up some onions as part of her meal prep. In her caption for the divisive video, she wrote that she was making a 'paleo lobster benedict for a Hamptons-inspired #boyfriendbreakfast this morning' and accompanied her post to the tune of Phoenix's song Girlfriend Fans were shocked by the star's apparent mess making - taking to the comment section to share their thoughts In another, she was standing at the stove while topless, with her 21-year-old daughter Apple sassily responding to the social media post. 'Did I steal your shirt by accident or....' Apple commented, to which an amused Gwyneth replied directly to her daughter with a laughing-crying emoji. The Hollywood star recently opened up about how she achieves her enviable physique back in April on her Goop podcast. At the time, she confessed that while she had been sticking to the Paleo diet for years, she had now become 'sick' of it and had decided to start feasting on more carbs as of late. She added she was 'getting back into eating sourdough bread, cheese — there, I said it — [and] a little pasta.' 'Gwyneth doesn't take herself as seriously anymore and has let go of chasing perfection,' a source told at the time. 'She's confident in who she is and is enjoying the success she's worked hard for.'
