DKS praises Keonics for providing tech education to rural youth, creating jobs
DCM DK Shivakumar inaugurated the e-commerce portal of Keonics in Bengaluru on Monday. Shivakumar said, 'Keonics is a model for the country in terms of new technology. It is providing its services to many states. Such a good institution was dormant for some years. Under the leadership of Priyank Kharge, it has got a new form with the ideas of Sharath Bachegowda.'
'When I was in school, Electronic City was being started in Bangalore. At that time, SM Krishna was the Union Industries Minister, while Veerappa Moily was the Industries Minister in the state. Now we have grown in electronic technology. The whole world is looking at Bangalore. When I was in class 10, there was not even a calculator. Later, technology developed to the point of electronic watches,' he said.
'May Keonics help many businesses through its new website. May it grow even higher. Congratulations to the officers and staff of the organization,' he said.
'Ashok, in a responsible position, should not lie'
'R Ashok, who is in a responsible position, should not lie. Whether the caste census report is true, false or fake, he can get an answer by asking Jayaprakash Hegde, who was the chairman of the commission, or Dayanand, who is an officer,' DCM DK Shivakumar retorted.
He responded to media queries on Monday regarding R Ashok's allegations that Siddaramaiah has kept the caste census report at home. 'The Backward Classes Commission is an autonomous body. The sealed report was brought before the cabinet and opened there and viewed. It was also videotaped,' he said.
When asked about Satish Jarkiholi's statement that it would take another year for the implementation of the caste census, he said, 'This is a matter for internal discussion in the cabinet. This is not something to be discussed publicly.'
When asked about the removal of Janivara during the CET exam, he said, 'It was wrong to remove Janivara. Some people are wearing linga, ududara( waist thread). Mangalasutra, Ear-ring, Janivara should not be touched. This is all a matter of their religion.
The government does not allow such things. There is a system of removing it when selecting for police jobs. But it should not be removed in schools and colleges. It was wrong to do this. There have been incidents of copying using some devices, including invisible Bluetooth devices, in the past. Steps have been taken to avoid this.

‘Bogus votes were created': DK Shivakumar backs Rahul Gandhi's claims against EC in Karnataka
'We conducted research in many booths of Karnataka, especially in the urban sectors, where we found that votes were shifted there from various places without any proper documents. All bogus votes were created… We will present this evidence to the election commission. Whether they agree or not, that's a different issue. We will present it in front of the people too… A very big injustice has been given to those assembly segments. Our constituencies have been affected with this…. I stand by his statement,' DK Shivakumar said. Speaking to ANI, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister stated that Congress party has conducted research in many booths and found that votes were shifted 'without' any proper documents. New Delhi: Extending his support to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's allegations against the Election Commission in Karnataka, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Saturday said that bogus votes were found in several urban booths across the state and the matter would be brought to the notice of the public and the poll body. His statement came after Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of indulging in 'cheating' during the voter list revision process in a Karnataka constituency. On July 24, Gandhi claimed to have '100 per cent' proof of the alleged manipulation, which involves adding and deleting voters, but hasn't presented any evidence yet. He alleged that thousands of new voters aged 50, 60, and 65 have been added to the list in a single constituency and eligible voters above 18 have been removed from the list. 'Today we have 100 per cent proof of Election Commission allowing cheating in a seat in Karnataka. When we decide to show it to you, it is 100 per cent proof. We just looked at one constituency and we found this. I am absolutely convinced that constituency after constituency this is the drama. Thousands of new votes, aged 50 or 60, 65 (are there) in one constituency. Then voter deletion, people who are way above 18,' he said. The opposition parties, including Congress and Samajwadi Party, have been protesting against the SIR exercise, alleging that it's an attempt to disenfranchise voters, particularly from marginalised communities. They claim that the process is being used to remove names from the voters' list, which could impact the outcome of upcoming assembly elections. This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. We will start Mahadayi works, dare Goa CM to stop it: DKS
Bengaluru: Lashing out at Goa Chief Minister for his statement that the Union Environment Ministry would not give permission for Karnataka's Mahadayi project, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that the state would start the work. 'Goa CM Pramod Sawant has said that the Centre would not give environmental clearance for Mahadayi project. We will withdraw our application from the Supreme Court and start the work. I will see who stops it,' the DCM, who also handles the Irrigation portfolio, said while speaking to reporters at Vidhana Soudha. He was replying to a journalist who drew his attention to Goa CM's statement that the Centre would not give permission for Mahadayi project. 'Goa CM has lost his mental balance, he doesn't respect the federal system. The Tribunal has given its verdict on Mahadayi and we have already called for the tender. BJP leaders, including Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi had even celebrated that the Mahadayi project would take off soon post promise of approval by the Centre,' he said. 'I will meet all the MPs from the state and seek their support. This is a matter of self-respect for the party. It is wrong on the part of the state MPs not to raise their voice on this issue. We can't sell our state just for one MP from Goa. I urge the MPs from the state to put pressure on the Centre. I will try to take an all-party delegation to Delhi,' he said. Asked if he would call an all-party meeting on this, he said he has already announced that an all-party meeting would be called. Asked if the Union Minister was misleading the state on Mahadayi, he said, 'The Union Jal Shakthi minister is impartial on the matter, he won't do politics on this. I have met him four-five times. The Union Environment Minister will also not do politics on this issue. Both of them support development works. The issue is with Goa.' Replying to a question on Rahul Gandhi's allegation of vote stealing during Lok Sabha election, he said, 'I agree with his statement. I have also started my own investigation regarding this in Bengaluru Rural constituency. Many irregularities have taken place here too.'
