New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) Venture Capital (VC) investments in India touched USD 3.5 billion across 355 deals in Q2 of 2025, warming up sequentially in value terms from USD 2.8 billion across 456 deals in March quarter, according to a latest KPMG report.
Fintech remained one of the hottest sectors for investment in India, KPMG Venture Pulse Q2 2025 report said.
'India's venture capital landscape demonstrated resilience in Q2, 2025, with funding rising despite global uncertainties. Key sectors like fintech, healthtech, and logistics drew strong investor interest, reflecting confidence in India's innovation potential," said Nitish Poddar, Partner and National Leader, Private Equity, KPMG in India.
The performance underscores the country's growing role in shaping the region's startup ecosystem, Poddar added.
A USD 218 million seed round raise by PB Healthcare — a startup focused on developing a tech-enabled health delivery platform was India's largest VC investment of Q2, 2025.
'VC investment in India rose from USD 2.8 billion across 456 deals to USD 3.5 billion across 355 deals quarter-over-quarter," it said.
On a broader canvas, the global venture capital investment slipped to USD 101.05 billion in Q2, 2025 from USD 128.4 billion in Q1, 2025.
The drop notwithstanding, 'Q2'25 remained a relatively strong quarter despite ongoing geopolitical conflicts, trade tensions, and macroeconomic uncertainty", as per the report.
The focus remained primarily on large-scale opportunities, especially in the AI and defencetech space, it further said.
Heading into Q3'25, VC investors globally are expected to remain cautious given the continued delay in exits across many sectors, rising geopolitical tensions, and ongoing uncertainties related to tariffs and other global trade policies.
'AI will likely remain the hottest sector of VC investment globally — particularly as governments continue to introduce large-scale funding programs to attract AI startups and drive ecosystem development and technology sovereignty," according to KPMG. PTI MBI TRB

India To Maintain 6-6.5% Real GDP Growth In FY26 On Resilient Domestic Demand: UBS

Last Updated: UBS notes that India is less vulnerable to global trade shocks than many other Asian economies due to its limited goods trade dependence and a strong services export sector. India is expected to sustain a robust 6-6.5% real GDP growth in FY26, driven by resilient domestic consumption and potentially lower global crude oil prices, according to the latest report by UBS. This projection comes despite headwinds from recent tariff increases. UBS noted that India is less vulnerable to global trade shocks than many other Asian economies due to its limited goods trade dependence and a strong services export sector, which now makes up about 47% of total exports. The report also highlighted a continued policy emphasis on improving monetary transmission. With a total 100 basis points repo rate cut already implemented in calendar year 2025, UBS analysts suggest there may be room for another 25-50 bps of rate easing if inflation stays benign and external risks begin to weigh on growth momentum. Additionally, the report forecasts a reduction in fiscal drag, with the central government likely to accelerate capital expenditure targets. It also pointed to the possible reduction in retail diesel and petrol prices ahead of Diwali and the Bihar state elections in October-November, which could boost household disposable income and further support consumption. India's economy grew by 7.4 per cent in the January-March quarter (Q4) of FY25, beating expectations and marking the strongest quarterly growth of the fiscal year. This was a sharp rise from the 6.2 per cent recorded in the previous quarter. Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran expressed optimism about the country's economic trajectory, stating: 'India's economy is in good shape despite the challenging global environment." The International Monetary Fund (IMF), in its April 2025 World Economic Outlook, echoed similar confidence, projecting India to remain the fastest-growing major economy for the next two years. The IMF estimates 6.2% growth in 2025 and 6.3% in 2026, underscoring India's strong momentum and leadership in global growth. view comments First Published: July 26, 2025, 15:15 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Jain Irrigation net profit declines 8.5 pc to Rs 11.19 cr in Jun qtr

Last Updated: New Delhi, Jul 26 (PTI) Jain Irrigation Systems on Saturday reported an 8.5 per cent fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 11.19 crore for the latest quarter ended June 2025. Its net profit stood at Rs 12.23 crore in the year-ago period. The total income rose to Rs 1,547.68 crore in the April-June period of 2025-26 from Rs 1,479.24 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year, according to a regulatory filing. Jain Irrigation Systems Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anil Jain said, 'In Q1 of FY26, the company experienced good demand for Micro Irrigation Systems, Tissue Culture, Exports and Solar Agri Pumps. We saw good growth in revenue and margins in Hi-Tech Agri division". Due to the early monsoon in May, he said the company saw an impact on demand for pipe. 'Margins for pipe business were also under pressure due to lack of demand," Jain said. He said the company's focus towards retail and exports has shown better results in terms of revenue growth and margins. 'With well-spread monsoon and the government's commitment to investment in infrastructure, we expect revival of demand for piping business in H2FY26," Jain said. In 2024-25, the Maharashtra-based Jain Irrigation Systems had posted a net profit of Rs 25.69 crore on a total income of Rs 5,793.24 crore. The company is engaged in the manufacturing of micro irrigation systems, PVC P pipes, HDPE pipes, plastic sheets, agro-processed products, renewable energy solutions, tissue culture plants, financial services and other agricultural inputs.
