Sipho Mbule to prove his critics wrong
A lot has been made about the midfielder's past struggles at former club Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United, where he spent a brief period on loan.
What football fans everywhere agree on is that Mbule is a fantastic talent. However, his disciplinary issues are a worry. Pirates fans, and everyone else in the country, will be rooting for Mbule to stay on course.
Pirates have a very good player on their hands. If he behaves, they could mean business in the league.
New coach to pick up where Jose Riveiro left
The appointment of Abdeslam Ouaddou as the club's new coach came out of left field.
When Jose Riveiro left, the club was heavily linked with Rulani Mokwena, who has experience in winning trophies in South African football.
All eyes will now be on Ouaddou to see if he can deliver. If he can pick up where Riveiro left off, Pirates fans will be happy.
Mbekezeli Mbokazi to get even better
Remember the name 'Mbekezeli Mbokazi'. Football fans everywhere are excited about him.
At just 19 years old, Mbokazi has done enough to impress. He has all the hallmarks of a top defender. He has an understanding of his position that's second to none and also excels in aerial duels and physical confrontations.
He's destined for the top, and fans will be hoping to see him make his mark in the PSL with a number of eye-catching performances in defence.
To see the club fill the gap left by Mohau Nkota and possibly Rele Mofokeng
Mohau Nkota has left the club, and according to reports, there continues to be interest from Europe for Relebohile Mofokeng.
If he heads towards the exit as well, the club will have lost two of their best wide players.
They've already brought in Bafana star Oswin Appollis. Fans will now want to see him terrorise defenders much like Nkota and Mofokeng did last season.
To finally win the league
The one thing Pirates fans want more than anything is for the club to win the league.
Under Riveiro, they did well in cup competitions as they won three MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cups in three years. However, in the league, they just couldn't get over the finish line ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pirates fans would love nothing more than seeing Ouaddou's men lifting the Betway Premiership trophy at the end of the campaign.

Orlando Pirates news: Transfer window hits and misses

Orlando Pirates have been the busiest PSL club this offseason, with eleven confirmed signings already boosting squad depth ahead of the new campaign. The likes of Oswin Appollis and Tshepang Moremi headline the arrivals, showcasing the club's clear intent to compete on all fronts. Despite this aggressive recruitment drive, not everything has gone to plan. Two top-tier targets (Fiston Mayele and Fawaaz Basadien) have eluded the Mayfair side, with both players seemingly closing in on moves elsewhere — one locally and the other to a foreign destination. The latter missed Stellenbosch training yesterday amid Mamelodi Sundowns links, suggesting that an exit is all but confirmed. Questions remain over a rising star's future Adding to the uncertainty is the ongoing saga surrounding one of the team's most promising young stars, Relebohile Mofokeng. The talented attacker has attracted interest from abroad, with clubs in Europe, North Africa, and the United States reportedly tracking his progress. His father has made his position crystal clear: he wants his son to leave South African football this season and take the next step abroad. 'He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won't experience that. Yes, he'd be rich — but happiness is more important,' he stated. While Pirates have not officially commented on the situation, fans are understandably nervous. Losing such a promising player could undo some of the gains made this transfer window. The transfer window is still open, and anything can happen. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. 'Abdeslam Ouaddou will surpass Riveiro's achievements'

Orlando Pirates legend Edward Motale believes the new Bucs coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, can surpass Jose Riveiro. The Spaniard won five trophies in three years with the Buccaneers before leaving for Ah Ahly in May. During his tenure with the Soweto giants, Riveiro reached the CAF Champions League semi-final last season and also led the team to six finals. Motale think new coach Ouaddou can achieve the same success. 'I'm pleased with the team that our new coach has put together so far. The signings they've made will create strong competition within the squad,' Motale told KickOff . 'You can see that the coach believes in hard work and youth. He's been in South Africa for a while now, so he has done his research. 'I believe Ouaddou will be the best and will surpass Riveiro's achievements. Just look at how he managed to perform with Marumo Gallants when there were only five games left in the season; his impact was significant. 'If he had arrived earlier, he would have done even better with them. He brought direction to that team,' added the 1995 CAF Champions League-winning captain. 'What I appreciate about him is that he has played the game at the highest level, so he understands what it takes to succeed in football. 'With this coach and this group and this group of players, Orlando Pirates will definitely win the league this coming season,' Motale said. Ouaddou's first task is to win the MTN8, which Riveiro won in his first season. The Buccaneers play Polokwane City in the quarter-finals of the competition next week. Orlando Pirates: R100 million up for grabs this season

Orlando Pirates could earn up to R100 million if they manage to win every competition they participate in this upcoming season. While such a feat may seem unlikely, it is certainly possible, especially considering how close they were to achieving a treble last season. The Buccaneers secured nearly R50 million by winning the MTN8 and reaching the final of the Nedbank Cup. They also finished as runners-up in the league and reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League. A new season offers the team another opportunity to compete for both the Betway Premiership and the Champions League. If the Buccaneers win both the league and the CAF Champions League, they would have accumulated R90 million. The MTN8 title adds another R10 million, while winning the Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup could net them approximately R15 million more. To achieve a continental treble and earn R100 million this season, the team will need to have their best season ever, with no room for error, poor finishing, or careless defence. With Abdeslam Ouaddou at the helm, some fans are concerned about whether he can uphold the winning culture. Under Jose Riveiro, Orlando Pirates won five out of six finals and secured R100 million over three years. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
