School district pays tribute to co-worker killed in I-75 weekend crash

Tipp City Schools expressed its condolences to Tippecanoe Middle School employee Jennifer Korleski, according to a social media post.
'Jennifer was known for her kindness, encouragement, and genuine care for students,' the school district said on its Facebook page.
As previously reported by News Center 7, Korleski died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 southbound past State Route 571 early Sunday morning.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Ford was traveling on I-75 SB when it slowed with traffic for a previous crash. A 2009 Saturn driven by Korleski was also on I-75 when it hit the Ford, causing it to overturn and travel off the right side of the road.
The Saturn came to a stop in the left lane but got hit by a 2021 Jeep, the investigation stated.
Medics transported the drivers of both the Jeep and the Ford to area hospitals. Korelski was pronounced dead at the scene, OSHP said.
Tipp City Schools said that Jennifer Korelski always supported students and helped 'strive to be their best.'
'We are keeping her loved ones, students, and the Tippecanoe Middle School team in our thoughts during this difficult time,' the school district concluded.

Authorities arrest alleged associate of man suspected in deaths of 4 in Tennessee
A man described as an associate of the suspect in a quadruple homicide in Tennessee earlier this week has been arrested on suspicion of helping the fugitive, authorities said Saturday. Tanaka Brown, 29, was arrested and jailed Friday. He has been charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement. Brown is being held without bond in Lake County Jail, the bureau said. He is accused of helping Austin Robert Drummond, 28, who remained at large Saturday night. Authorities have been searching for Drummond in connection with the deaths of four people Tuesday in Tiptonville. The four bodies were discovered after an infant was found abandoned in a car seat in Dyer County, setting off a scramble to find the baby's guardians, Stephen Sutton, a spokesperson for the sheriff's offices in Lake and Dyer counties, said at a Friday news conference. 'The baby is safe and is being cared for,' Sutton said. Drummond has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, possession of a gun during a dangerous felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. He had been released on bond related to an incident that allegedly took place in prison, where he was serving time for aggravated robbery, Goodman said. The public defender's office for the judicial district that covers Lake and Dyer counties was not available to provide information late Saturday. Drummond is described as armed and dangerous, and anyone who spots him was asked to call 911. 'Getting Austin Drummond in custody is a priority,' the U.S. Marshals Service said. Two vehicles associated with Drummond have been found, authorities said. A white 1988 Ford pickup with red side panels was located in Dyer County on Saturday, and authorities are asking anyone with security video of the truck to send it to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Drummond's white 2016 Audi A3 was found abandoned Friday in Jackson, about 74 miles southeast of Tiptonville, the bureau said. He is believed to still be in the Jackson area, bureau Director David B. Rausch said Friday. 'This incident has this community on edge,' Rausch said. Jackson is about 87 miles northeast of Memphis. Authorities have previously identified the victims as Matthew Wilson, 21, the abandoned child's father; Adrianna Williams, 20, the mother; Cortney Rose, 38, the maternal grandmother; and Braydon Williams, 15, the maternal uncle. Authorities haven't said how they died but have described their deaths as the result of murder. 'There is a familial relationship between the suspect and the family,' Rausch said. A relative of the victims said Thursday in a Facebook post that the suspect has 'literally been nothing short of amazing to us and our kids.' According to the post, Drummond previously dated a sister of Rose. Woman killed and her 2 children hospitalized after Bay Area traffic crash
A woman died and her two children were hospitalized Thursday after a traffic collision in San Mateo, police said. Officers, responding to a collision report in the area of Alameda de las Pulgas and Highway 92 around 6:17 p.m., discovered two vehicles, including a Ford SUV and a Toyota Prius, at the scene, according to the San Mateo Police Department. The Prius driver, a 30-year-old woman, died at the scene, police said. She was not immediately identified. The woman's two children, boys ages 5 and 7, were brought to a nearby hospital for treatment and were listed in critical but stable condition, police said. The Ford SUV's driver, a man, was also brought to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, police said. The identify of the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was being withheld, police said. Investigators said that the Ford's driver failed to stop at the eastbound Highway 92 off-ramp at Alameda de las Pulgas during a red light when the Prius was traveling northbound during a green light. The Ford then broadsided the Prius, police said. Police said they had not yet determined why the driver of the Ford did not stop, but said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.

Teen arrested for allegedly vandalizing over 60 cars in Quincy; competency evaluation ordered
