Fox Sports football reporter who quit ESPN over Disney's Covid vaccine mandate gets huge NFL promotion
Williams will be looking to make further strides at the network which she joined in 2022, after her unceremonious exit from rival broadcasters ESPN a year prior.
In 2021, Williams left ESPN after they refused to accommodate her decision not to get the COVID-19 vaccine because she was trying to get pregnant.
The Walt Disney Company, which owns ESPN, mandated that all cast members need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 - however Williams was trying for a child and announced that she would not be getting it.
She eventually left the network - where she worked on the sidelines at college football and basketball games - and swiftly joined Fox Sports.
Since then, she has worked as a college football sideline reporter and studio host for Fox however, she is now set to make another step forward in her career.
According to Front Office Sports, Williams will take on the role of NFL sideline reporter on one of the network's announce teams this season and replace the departing Laura Okmin.
Okmin will bid farewell to the network after turning down a contract extension. She is the third-longest-tenured sideline reporter in NFL history.
Okmin explained that it feels like the right time to walk away from her current role and focus on her company, GALvanize, which mentors young women in the sports world.
Williams, meanwhile, looks to have settled at Fox Sports after her exit from ESPN four years ago.
She was initially barred from working on the sidelines of college football games this season because she refused to comply with the network's vaccine mandate while she and her husband try for their second child.
In an Instagram video shared at the time, a visibly emotional Williams said that her 'request for accommodation' had been denied, about a month after announcing she would be sitting the season out because she hadn't yet received the vaccination.
'Ultimately, I can not put a paycheck over principal and I will not sacrifice something I believe in strongly to maintain a career,' Williams said near-tears in the video.
Shortly after that, she confirmed that she would be 'separating' from ESPN.
'Belief is a word I've been thinking about a lot lately, because in addition to the medical apprehensions regarding my desire to have another child in regards to receiving this injection, I am also so morally and ethically not aligned with this,' Williams said.
'And I've had to really dig deep and analyze my values and my morals, and ultimately I need to put them first.'
'And the irony in all this is that a lot of those same values and principals I hold so dear are what made me a really good employee and probably helped with the success that I've been able to have in my career.'
Williams, who had been with the network since 2011, said she was having trouble coming to terms with the fact that the national championship game she covered in January, 2021, may now be the last college football game she will work.

I was raised to think that way, and it stuck. 'I actually have no idea where it (the Olympic gold medal) is, to be completely honest. 'What am I going to do with it? 'My wife hung up some pictures in my gym of me winning the Olympic medal, and she put it so high up, I can't reach it. 'I'd have to get a ladder and it bothers me. 'Like anything... put up a photo of me in a Masters Green Jacket (which Schauffele has not won). That would p**s me off. 'Something like that would be more motivating. I don't want to look at that photo. 'I'd rather have a photo of my dogs on the wall or a clock. I'm always late, so maybe a clock would be good.' Comedian podcaster says he's breaking free from Trump 'cult' after massive betrayal
Podcaster and comedian Andrew Schulz unleashed a viral rant against President Donald Trump for failing to release the 'list' of financier and convicted pedophile Jeffery Epstein's clients. Schulz and his co-host Akaash Singh kicked off their Flagrant podcast on Tuesday discussing the big scandal of the week: the administration's handling of the Epstein files. They compared their own experiences dealing with critics calling them 'idiots' and 'bad Americans' online and Trump's MAGA haters coming for him about his 'failed' Epstein promises. Earlier in the week, Schulz and his crew wore tin-foil hats on their show as they criticized the president's failure to keep his promises to release the Epstein list, get out of foreign wars and cut spending. Trump recently bombed Iran 's nuclear sites and also got his signature big, beautiful bill passed which is estimated to add $3.4 trillion to the national deficit. 'I voted for none of this. He is doing the exact opposite of everything I voted for. I want him to stop wars, he's funding them. I want him to shrink spending, reduce the budget, he's increasing it,' Schulz said. The comedian had hosted Trump on his podcast in October in the weeks leading to the election despite backlash at the time. But now he's admitting he's disappointed by Trump's actions in his second term. 'I wanted something different. I was hoping for some sort of change,' he said, but he then defied anyone who tried to recruit them in their political camp. 'I just want to let you all right now, I'm in neither one of your f**king cults if you want me to be in your cults you can go f**k all, I'm not a Dem cult, I'm not a Republican cult, I'm a free American I'll make my own f**king decisions, and I'll say what ever the f**k I want about whatever president is in power,' Schulz said. During the campaign, Schulz and his podcast crew went viral for their hilarious interview with Trump as he detailed how he used 'the weave' to respond to questions and revealed how he came up with snappy nicknames for his opponents. The pair of hosts mocked Democratic critics who accused them of helping the president win simply by sitting down with him for an interview during the campaign and 'humanizing' him. 'You just wanna take no accountability for the fact that you ran a dead guy and a woman that couldn't speak,' Schulz said, referring to former President Joe Biden and former vice president Kamala Harris respectively. Both hosts reminded their audience they were not surprised that a politician appeared on their show and did not keep his promises. Schulz said he wanted Trump to do three things, stop the endless wars, stop government spending into oblivion, and to release the Epstein files. 'If Trump did one of the things, yeah. We would've been happy,' he said. 'Unfortunately the only one he chose was the immigration one, the one we were not that enthusiastic about.' When they spoke with Trump during the campaign about their distaste for his promise to deport all illegal immigrants, Trump famously promised them he would start with criminals. Schulz said he did not regret his vote for Trump, but was disappointed with the results. 'Yeah. So he's done nothing on those fronts in terms of the promises he made us. But I don't regret it at all,' he said. 'I don't even regret voting for him at all. The hosts noted that the White House responded to Schulz by name in a statement to Fox News, and trumpeted their newfound influence. They also welcomed Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna on the show to talk about his proposed Congressional amendment that would release all of the redacted Epstein files. Schulz said he would continue to criticize political figures and say what he thought when it came to politics. 'When people fail us and fail us on the promises that they make, we should criticize them. Like what is the alternative? We just vote and then agree with every single thing that person does?' he asked. 'You know, so it's like, and you should hold the elected officials accountable. And we live in this like weird time where any measure to hold them accountable comes with immediate criticism.'
