
Fan asks Rs 2000 to watch NC Classic, Neeraj Chopra offers him VVIP experience
Neeraj Chopra offered a fan a once-in-a-lifetime experience to a fan for the upcoming Neeraj Chopra Classic javelin event in Bengaluru on July 5. The NC Classic, hosted by Neeraj, will be the first of its kind javelin event in India and has been awarded 'A' category status by World Athletics, placing it on par with a Continental Tour Gold-level event in terms of ranking points. advertisementThis will also mark Neeraj's return to home soil in competitive action after more than a year and features a star-studded lineup. The event was initially scheduled to be held on May 24, but was later postponed to July 5 and will take place at Kantereeva stadium. The excitement for the event is building up and now Neeraj has shown a heartwarming gesture to a fan. The fan named Ranjith had asked on X if someone could sponsor him 2,000 rupees to attend the event from Coimbatore.
"If anyone sponsor me 2000 rupees, I can go to watch this from Coimbatore," said Ranjith on X.

The tweet caught the attention of Neeraj, who responded to Ranjith and offered him a full VVIP experience for the event, and said that he would take care of the trip. The 27-year-old also offered the stay close to him as well. "Hi, Ranjith. You've got a full VVIP experience waiting for you in Bengaluru because your trip to the @nc_classic is on me! Organised by the Telangana Boxing Federation under the aegis of the Boxing Federation of India(BFI) and the Sports Authority of Telangana, the tournament brings together top-tier names and emerging prospects from across the country. The event, running from June 27 to July 1, features 15 participating units- 12 from the recent Elite Nationals, host Telangana, the SAI NCOE Combined team, and the TOPS Talent & Development squad. Other notable Day 1 results included win for 2023 world champion Nitu (Haryana) in 45- 48kg over Rajani Singh (UP) 5:0 while Telangana's Yashi Sharma defeated K Monisha (Tamil Nadu) 5:0 in the 60–65kg category. Another standout from the TOPS setup, Laxmi, posted a dominant 5:0 win in the 51–54kg bout against Ragini (UP). Former World Youth Champion Ankushita Boro is also in the fray.
