IPL 2025: What Is Cut-Off Time For 5 Over Match Between RCB And KKR After Rain Delay In Bengaluru?
The toss for the RCB-KKR clash was set to take place at 7 PM IST but it was delayed due to a steady rain. Thereafter, the start of play, scheduled for 7:30 PM IST, was also delayed as it continued to rain heavily in Bengaluru.
Notably, Chinnaswamy Stadium has a brilliant drainage system which means that the match can start as soon as rain stops. There was a possibility of a full 20-over match if the match could start by 8:45 PM IST.
Meanwhile, both teams need to play a minimum five-over match for a result.
What Is Cut-Off Time For Five-Over Match?
According to the IPL playing conditions, the cut-off time for a five-over match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is 10.56 pm IST.
If the RCB vs KKR IPL 2025 match is abandoned due to rain, both teams will share one point each.
Position Of RCB, KKR In IPL 2025 Points Table
RCB are currently at the second spot in the standings with 16 points and a net run rate of +0.482 with eight wins from 11 games. On the other hand, KKR, currently on 11 points with two matches remaining, face a do-or-die scenario. A washout in Bengaluru could end their playoff hopes, as a shared point would mean they can only reach a maximum of 14 - likely insufficient for qualification.
Meanwhile, RCB have more breathing room; even in case of rain affecting the outcome, they still have a viable shot at making the playoffs, and potentially securing a top-two finish.
Squads:

Anshul Kamboj belongs to same variety of pacers as Zaheer, Jasprit Bumrah: Ashwin
Former India off-spinner R Ashwin believes uncapped pacer Anshul Kamboj belongs to a rare breed of fast bowlers, in the mould of Zaheer Khan and Jasprit Bumrah, and feels the 24-year-old is ready for Test cricket. Kamboj was drafted into the squad following injuries to Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep, and Arshdeep on his YouTube channel Ash Ki Baat, Ashwin placed Kamboj in a rare league of Indian fast bowlers who not only rely on skill but also possess a strong understanding of plans and match appreciable thing about Anshul is that he understands the plan. I've seen so many fast bowlers who, when asked about the plan, simply say they want to express themselves and enjoy the game," Ashwin said. "But Anshul knows the plans and how to execute them in the middle. That's not a trait many fast bowlers possess. Zaheer Khan had it - he was amazing. In recent times, Jassi (Bumrah) is another who understands the plan and executes it to perfection. Anshul belongs to that variety. I'm not comparing skills, because that's a different thing."The 24-year-old Haryana pacer made heads turn with consistent performances for India A against the England Lions ahead of the Test series. He picked up five wickets across four innings in Northampton and Canterbury, impressing with his late movement and praised Kamboj's natural length and wrist position - key attributes for success in English conditions."He has a very good tappa (natural length). I saw that even in the IPL. His wrist position is excellent, and he delivers with an upright seam. He never strays from his length," Ashwin said."With Bumrah and Siraj in the XI, if you bring in Anshul Kamboj, I'm telling you, that's a serious bowling attack."Ashwin also recalled Kamboj's standout performance against Kerala in last year's Ranji Trophy, where he claimed a 10-wicket haul, and highlighted his ability to bowl long spells - a key factor in English conditions."He's been in cracking form in first-class cricket. He's averaging around 13. You need that in England," he Ashwin also cautioned that the team management will need to help the youngster settle if he is handed his Test cap at Old Trafford."People will say he hasn't played in England, but he was there during the A tour. He's shown he can deliver. They'll just need to calm his nerves."- EndsYou May Also Like

Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq replaces Ruturaj Gaikwad at Yorkshire for County Championship
Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has been signed by County Championship side Yorkshire as a replacement for India's Ruturaj Gaikwad for the remainder of the season, the club announced on Monday. The development follows after Gaikwad backed out of the County deal that he had signed up for with the club last month. The Chennai Super Kings captain was due to appear for his debut on Tuesday, but has now opted out of the deal due to personal reasons. 'Unfortunately, Gaikwad's not coming now for personal reasons,' said Yorkshire head coach Anthony McGrath. 'We're not going to have him for Scarborough or for the rest of the season. So that's disappointing. I can't tell you anything about the reasons why, but we hope that everything's ok.' Imam has previously represented Somerset in the County Championship in 2022. He will join the Yorkshire squad ahead of its clash with Surrey at Scarborough. 'We're delighted that Imam has joined us and that he will be available immediately,' Gavin Hamilton, Yorkshire's general manager of cricket, said on Monday. 'Whilst we were naturally disappointed that Ruturaj couldn't join up with the squad, in Imam, we have an exceptional player of proven international quality. Earlier, Yorkshire went into panic mode after Gaikwad's last-minute decision. 'We've literally just found out. We're working behind the scenes on what we can do. But it's only two or three days away, so I'm not sure what we can do at the moment. We're working to try and get a possible replacement, but time pressure is the issue. I can't give you anything more than that at the moment,' McGrath had said on Saturday. The Maharashtra batter had been out of action since April 8 after suffering a fractured elbow while leading Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2025 season. Recovering from the injury, Gaikwad was named in the India A squad for the England tour. However, he was benched for both matches against the England Lions. Despite his impressive white-ball aggregates, Gaikwad has not had the best of runs in First-Class cricket, averaging 41.77 for 2632 runs in 38 matches. Gaikwad had a torrid run during the India A tour to Australia last year, scoring only 20 runs in four outings. In the 2024-25 domestic season in India, Gaikwad tallied 571 runs in 12 innings with a solitary century.
