17-year-old arrested, charged with manslaughter in connection with 16-year-old's stabbing death
Montreal police have arrested a 17-year-old and charged him with manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy in April.
The 16-year-old, Makhai Ruddock, was stabbed on Barclay Street in the Côte-Des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-De-Grâce borough on April 15.
A suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Ruddock was conscious when police arrived on the scene, but died later in hospital.
Police issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for the suspect, a 17-year-old boy.
Montreal police said in a media release on Monday that they tracked him down and arrested him in Niagara Falls, Ont., on June 5. They transported the boy to Montreal, where he is facing a manslaughter charge.

Makhai Bennett-Ruddock was fatally stabbed in Montreal's Côte-des-Neiges-NDG borough in April. His loved ones are urging parents and members of the community to watch out for warning signs that young people may need help.
He appeared in youth court on June 6 to answer the charge. He cannot be identified because he is a minor.
Ruddock's death marked Montreal's eighth homicide of 2025.

(Peel Regional Police) Peel police are looking for two suspects who allegedly used stolen credit card information more than a dozen times to buy gas in Brampton, spending over $12,000. Police said they got multiple reports of two people using the stolen credit card information in the area of Queen Street East and Delta Park Boulevard, east of Airport Road, between May 13 and June 5. 'The suspects are seen using the stolen credit card information to obtain gasoline for large commercial trucking vehicles,' police allege in a news release on Saturday. It occurred on 19 separate occasions, resulting in the credit card owner losing over $12,000. On Saturday, investigators released images of the suspects, who they say are both South Asian males. One suspect is between 35 and 40 years old with a heavy build, a black beard or moustache, and was wearing a reflector vest, an Adidas shirt, brown cargo pants, and green running shorts. The other suspect is believed to be 25 to 30 years old, with a medium build, a black beard and moustache, black hair with shaved sides, and was wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants, and a grey Fila sweater. Second teen charged with first-degree murder in Toronto Beaches stabbing
Two 16-year-old boys have now been charged with first-degree murder after turning themselves in following last weekend's fatal incident. Toronto police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old this month in Toronto's Beaches area. 16-year-old Kitchener boy sent to hospital following e-bike crash
A crash in Kitchener between an e-bike and a vehicle has sent a teenager to hospital. On Friday, first responders were called to the intersection of University Avenue West and Fischer-Hallman Road around 8 p.m. The crash happened between an e-bike and a Toyota Highlander. Police said the cyclist, a 16-year-old boy from Kitchener, was sent to an out-of-region hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the Toyota, a 47-year-old man from Waterloo, was not hurt.
