Dunelm reduces 'gorgeous' £80 bedside table with 'lovely retro design' to £20
Contemporary design lovers can get 75% off a highly reviewed bedside table from Dunelm. The retailer's clearance sale allows shoppers to purchase the "stylish" item for a dramatically reduced price. The Elements Griffin Compact Bedside Table, which is described as "an ideal choice for smaller spaces," has been reduced from £79 to £19.75.
Designed 'from durable metal', Dunelm says 'this bedside table features a contemporary design that effortlessly complements various decor styles.' The product description for the table explains: "It includes one drawer and one shelf, providing ample storage space for your nighttime essentials.
"The drawer offers a discreet spot to keep personal items out of sight, while the open shelf is perfect for books, magazines, or decorative items. The compact size of this bedside table makes it an ideal choice for smaller spaces, ensuring that even the cosiest bedrooms can benefit from its stylish functionality."
According to Dunelm, the table measures 56.5cm x 45.5cm x 39.5cm, it is 100% metal, and the assembly instructions state that the legs need to be fitted. For those looking for bedroom furniture, there's no shortage of alternatives to browse.
Argos offers a Tvilum Madrid 2 Drawer Bedside Table - Oak for £80, which is recommended by 88% of reviewers. Next offers an Actona Black Oak Seaford Metal Bedside Table for £63. While it has no reviews, the retailer says it is 'a sleek addition' to your home that 'combines functionality with modern aesthetics.'
Elsewhere, Dusk offers a Nell 2 Drawer Bedside Table - Cream that's on sale from £79 to £62. There are five different colours to choose from, though only certain colours are reduced in price.
Yet, Dunelm's Elements Griffin Compact Bedside Table could stand out to shoppers with its impressive rating, earning an average score of 4.8 out of five from reviewers. One happy customer said: "Perfect!!! Great quality bedside tables!! lovely retro design and just what I was looking for." Another fan wrote: "Lovely bedside unit. Solid piece. Lovely colour. Ready assembled apart from legs so in use straight away."
Despite this, there was some mixed feedback. A different shopper loved the look of the table but found the drawer stiff to close. Sharing pros and cons, they wrote: "Excellent colour, good design. Fab colour, good looking bedside table. Heavy and sturdy and good value. The drawer is a little stiff to close."
Someone else claimed: "Love it, looks gorgeous and very functional. All I would say is I had to have it delivered (x3 times, shout out to customer service), but the QA on this is bad.
"I broke 2 of those spanners they gave because they aren't strong enough to do the job, and the screws were too small for the item and didn't go on. It is also a bit flimsier than I would have wanted."
Another shopper also struggled with assembly, writing: "Beautiful tables - hard to assemble legs though. The screws underneath the table were painted in the same colour orange as the actual table which meant screwing on the bolts were difficult, luckily we were able to make it work after a while."
However, a contrasting review said: "Sold attractive bedside table. Easy to assemble by one person." A different fan praised: "Great quality, quite heavy and very sturdy. Looks more expensive than it was. Great design love the shelf."

The Reflex Active Women's Series 23 RGP Pink Strap Smart Watch is on sale at H. Samuel for £35. The Amazon smartwatch has racked up rave reviews online, with a 4.8 star rating overall. Among the many reviews, one person said: "Can't believe they can produce a watch for this price. Works like a dream connects easily via Bluetooth and ticks all the boxes. A second wrote: "The design is sleek and modern-comfortable to wear and lightweight, making it easy to forget you even have it on. The display is vibrant and clear, even in bright sunlight." A third added: "Really great watch. Comfortable and great battery life. Watch phone calls are cool. Step counter seems pretty accurate. Flashlight a handy bonus." A fourth said: "Beautiful smartwatch. This smartwatch is very good. Easy to pair with all devices. Nice features, highly recommended." However, some shoppers did have issues with the watch, with one shopper claiming that while it works "perfectly fine", there were a number of things they didn't like about it. The Hebden Mélange Stripe bedding features a subtle melange print and a woven striped finish. The Linen Yard Hebden Mélange Stripe Duvet Cover Set £44-£80 £26-£50 Debenhams Buy Now on Debenhams Product Description To complete the look, pair the striped bedding with crisp white sheets and a few tactile cushions in contrasting textures (velvet, boucle or waffle knit, for instance). Add a chunky throw at the foot of the bed for extra warmth, and consider adding a ceramic bedside lamp and a fresh plant or dried flowers to maintain a cosy atmosphere. For shoppers looking around, The White Company also boasts some exquisite bedding options, such as the Whitley Duvet Cover Set. It is currently 30 per cent off, with prices starting from £56 for a single. Elsewhere, and more budget friendly, The Super Soft Microfibre Stripe Duvet Set from Dunelm is available from £10. In grey, navy, or white, shoppers can pick up a superking for just £16. One satisfied customer said: "Great duvet set. Very understated stripes and good quality material." Another review read: "Cotton duvet cover. Great value! Would buy again." There was a one-star review, though specifics were not provided. It's worth noting that cotton tends to crease more, which could be a drawback for those who dislike ironing. Homewares deal of the week Looking to beat the heat as temperatures continue to rise? Then look no further than Dunelm's White Rechargeable USB Desk Fan that has an almost perfect five star rating for its small, yet mighty, design that means it works "even on the lowest setting." Easy to connect via a USB cable that can be connected to laptops and computers, this desk fan is perfect for those who find themselves working from home on these sweaty, humid summer days. However, it doesn't need to remain plugged-in, as the rechargeable element and compact six-inch design means it can be taken anywhere, even placed on a bedside table overnight on summer nights thanks to its "quiet" operation. It's finished with four speed settings to choose from and an adjustable angle that can help direct the cool breeze where it is needed, unlike other models that can sometimes be stuck in one place. As for Dunelm's own mini desk fan, it has received an impressive 4.8 rating from impressed shoppers who say that, despite its size, it is "surprisingly powerful" and "a literal life-saver" during this kind of weather. One five-star review read: "Fantastic fan, surprisingly powerful, quiet, lasts for quite a long time when charged, very hard to find a decent small rechargeable fan but this is it, will be buying more!" Beat the heat with Dunelm's White Rechargeable USB Desk Fan that costs just £25. But a different customer said they had no issues taking an iron to the set. They wrote: "Great quality, easy to iron, and looks great on the bed." Another five-star reviewer commented: "Excellent quality bedding, it is so cosy and looks great in my newly decorated bedroom." And someone else said: "Lovely bedding from Debenhams. Always my go-to shop, great choice and never been disappointed yet."
