Rochelle Humes rushes to comfort This Morning guest as he sobs over family death

Rochelle Humes was presenting the ITV morning show alongside Dermot O'Leary when she rushed to comfort one of the guests as he became overwhelmed with emotion
This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes couldn't bear to watch one of her guests breaking down in tears live on air without stepping in to offer comfort.

The ITV personality, 36, is currently appearing alongside Dermot O'Leary this week, filling in for regular hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley whilst they take their summer break.

During Monday's programme (July 28), they welcomed the relatives of Yvonne Ford, the British holidaymaker from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, who was scratched by a puppy whilst on holiday in Morocco and tragically died months later from rabies.

Initially showing no signs of illness, she was taken to Barnsley Hospital after experiencing a "horrendous" headache, and within days her health deteriorated rapidly.
She started hallucinating, lost the ability to walk, speak or swallow, and developed hydrophobia. Once alarm bells sounded, doctors moved the grandmother-of-four to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, where relatives were informed she had contracted the deadly disease, reports Wales Online.

Her family are now determined to ensure Yvonne's death wasn't meaningless, hoping to spread awareness as widely as possible, beginning with a This Morning appearance despite being overwhelmed by grief after losing their mother and wife just last month on June 11.
Still coming to terms with their loss, husband Ron alongside daughter and neonatal nurse Robyn Thompson and her son Adam, appeared on the ITV show to highlight the risks of rabies. Ron and Robyn remembered Yvonne as a "huge animal lover" with the "biggest heart", noting that she hadn't been bothered or sought medical attention after a puppy scratched her during a holiday in Morocco.

Yvonne's husband recounted how her cut hadn't even bled, telling the hosts she'd seemed fine and had even danced the night away just weeks before her death.
As he spoke about his fun-loving wife who showed no symptoms, Ron was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears. Rochelle, visibly moved herself, reached out to comfort him, placing a hand on his shoulder as he covered his face with his hands.

Giving Ron a moment, Rochelle's co-host Dermot turned the conversation to Robyn, discussing their reasons for appearing on the show. The nurse explained they simply wanted to raise as much awareness as possible to prevent other families from experiencing the same pain they had endured watching their mum tragically deteriorate.
Dermot thanked them for coming in, acknowledging their grief and their efforts to channel it through their appearance. He sensitively asked: "What's the one message you'd like to get across today?"
Adam added: "Check the rabies recommendations. I mean Morocco was only recommended. We don't want anyone to go through what we've been through seeing our mum go through the seven days of deterioration that we had. Get those injections."
Ron went on to caution: "The World Cup is in Morocco in 2030, so anybody going just be aware."
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1, from 10am.

BBC Destination X viewers call out 'fake' blunder minutes into show

Destination X kicked off on Wednesday night with Rob Brydon as the host, however, not all viewers were impressed with the first episode of the BBC reality show. BBC viewers were united in their reaction on Wednesday evening as Rob Brydon's fresh series Destination X made its debut. ‌ The new reality competition show has 13 contestants embarking on an epic European adventure, but there's a twist – not everything is as straightforward as it appears. ‌ Aboard the mysterious X-bus with its blacked-out windows, the participants' only task is to deduce their location on the continent by deciphering a trail of clues. ‌ Each episode culminates with the contestants marking an X on a map; the one whose guess is furthest from their true location faces elimination. Yet, as the programme began, it seemed that the initial scenes, featuring hopefuls at an airport ready for their enigmatic journey, didn't quite win over all the viewers, reports Wales Online. One viewer expressed disinterest: "No, can't be bothered with this. They all seem annoying." ‌ Another was sceptical, posting: "Blatantly a fake airport lounge #DestinationX". A third shared their disbelief, commenting: "Straight away I call shenanigans. No way British people will talk so quickly to strangers in an airport lounge. #DestinationX" One unimpressed comment read: "#DestinationX is a bit s**t so far." However, some viewers were instantly captivated by the show, with one saying: "Giving #DestinationX ago enjoying it so far." ‌ Another added praise for the host: "Rob Brydon steals the show in everything he's in. Love him #DestinationX" Throughout the programme, participants were whisked away by helicopter whilst sporting distinctive goggles that obscured their view from the aircraft windows. ‌ Nevertheless, there were brief instances when the eyewear permitted glimpses of the outside world, offering contestants fleeting opportunities to work out their destination. All they could make out were rolling fields and rural landscapes, with some speculating whether they'd been deceived and simply flown in circles back to where they started. In an ingenious move, audiences at home were also invited to participate as the programme deliberately withheld the contestants' actual location, encouraging viewers to make their own educated guesses. ‌ Fans would need to remain patient until the episode's conclusion to learn whether their predictions had hit the mark. In a brutal development, three participants faced immediate removal from the contest before even departing the airport, as Rob set them a challenge to locate items bearing specific names with limited tickets up for grabs. ‌ Those who failed to secure the required names found themselves heading home empty-handed, losing their shot at the £100,000 prize. Discussing the fresh format, presenter Rob Brydon revealed: "I've never done a TV show on this scale before. I loved the idea of it, the combination of having to work out clues as to where you are and having to get on with each other. "It struck me as the best bits of The Traitors with the best bits of Race Across the World."

Coronation Street's Debbie dealt with family betrayal amid dementia battle

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) took drastic action after she discovered her own brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) had betrayed her during the latest episode of the ITV soap Coronation Street's Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) was left on the verge of tears as she was discovered a family member's betrayal during Wednesday's episode. As viewers of the ITV soap will know, earlier in the week, Abi Webster ( Sally Carman) slept with her brother-in-law Carl (Jonathan Howard) after weeks of holding back her feelings. ‌ It all came about after she had discovered that her husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) had been lying to her about his cancer, having been given the all-clear months ago. She tried to pack her bags after her encounter with Carl, but was persuaded to stay by her stepson Jack (Kyran Bowes) and when the teenager spotted his Aunty Debbie on the Street, she coaxed the situation out of him. ‌ The hotel owner, who was diagnosed with vascular dementia earlier this year, stormed round to number 13 to ask what she thought she was doing when her husband is so sick. She told Abi: "If anybody treated me the way you're treating my brother, it's disgusting! Shame on you. In sickness and in health, to death us do part. Does that ring any bells?" ‌ In the heat of the moment, Abi revealed the truth as she told a shocked Debbie: "Your precious, do-no-wrong brother has been lying to us all for weeks." Furious, Debbie marched over to the garage where Kevin was at work and yelled: "You're cancer- free!" Through tears, she added: "Of all the despicable things to do, to lie about something like that, when you know what I'm going through. What I've got. Shut your gob!" Kevin tried to wriggle out of the situation, but Debbie was having none of it, as she coldly told him: "I'm sure you can justify giving me sleepless night after sleepless night. I don't want to know, because, that's the most liberating thing about having a terminal illness. You get to choose what you care about." ‌ At that point, Debbie turned to her younger brother Carl, and quickly sussed out that he was also in on the lie. Before leaving the scene, the hotel manager looked Kevin in the eye and told him: "I hope you hold onto your wife, because you've just lost your sister." Later on, Abi apologised to Kevin for telling Debbie the truth, but he took full responsibility for the situation. He added: "Can't blame our Debbie for disowning me, I bet you wish you'd left me now," although Abi did not give him a response. Despite the major revelation, Debbie and Kevin are still unaware of Abi's infidelity. Earlier this week, Carl declared that their initial encounter was 'worth the wait' and they kissed Abi claimed that things with Kevin were over. ‌ But later, in the Rovers, Carl did not seem so keen on the idea of Abi calling off her entire marriage as she weighed up what they had begun. As viewers will know, last week, Carl organised the theft of an expensive car and is aware that his brother could have him arrested at any moment. "Don't I deserve to be happy?" she asked him and he told her to go home to be with Kevin. In the days before Kevin's brother arrived on the cobbles, the mechanic was famously married to Sally Metcalfe ( Sally Dynevor) and they had daughters Rosie ( Helen Flanagan) and Sophie ( Brooke Vincent) together. They initially split up when Kevin had an an affair with Natalie Barnes ( Denise Welch) but they remarried in 2002. Their marriage survived numerous infidelities on both sides, but ultimately crumbled when Kevin fathered Jack with Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) before she died in the 2010 tram crash as part of the programme's 50th anniversary. ‌ Carl is the son of Kevin's dad Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) and his second wife Elaine (Judy Gridley) and spent most of his life in Germany with his parents until he arrived on the Manchester backstreet earlier this year. In real life, Jonathan spent 10 years in LA and working alongside big-name stars including Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, but the 38-year-old actor ranks landing a part in Corrie among his greatest achievements. He told The Mirror: "Being in Coronation Street is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It's all the same, everyone's telling stories, whether it's a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie. As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid. "My friends ask me, 'what you have been up to today?' and I reply 'I took Tracy Barlow for a drink in the Rovers Return!' It's just incredible to say these things."

Mo, 37, has since moved on with another model, Taia Tulher, 28, who is heavily pregnant with their first child. They have been quietly dating for almost two years and the couple live together in London. A source said: 'Mo met Selina after messaging her on social media and they hung out casually for a few months. 'She found out she was pregnant in May 2023 and it was quite a shock for them both because they'd been fairly careful. 'But she wanted to have the baby, despite the fact they weren't actually a couple. "She adores their son and Mo sees him semi-regularly. Now he's about to become a dad for a second time and he's over the moon. "He has been with Taia for quite a long time now and he feels ready to settle down.' The comedian, who recently completed a stand-up tour, broke up with his girlfriend of four years, actress Sophie Wise, at the end of 2022. We didn't go on a single lavish holiday — maybe we'd go to Cardiff to see family.'
