Sébastien Baril, SergeFerrari Group's chairman of the Executive Board, stated: "Signs of improvement in our historic markets are gradually materializing. Serge Ferrari recorded an increase in revenues of over 10% in the first half of the year. This performance encourages us to continue our efforts to increase our operating leverage, our customer service and the flexibility of our cost structure in an environment where adaptability and responsiveness remain key."
Q2 2025 activity
The Group reported revenue of €99.6 million in the 2nd quarter of 2025, up 12.6% on a current scope and exchange rate basis, and up 13.0% on a constant scope and exchange rate basis compared with the same period last year.
This change is due to:
A currency effect of -0.4 %;
A volume effect of -3.0%, due mainly to a fall in volumes of modular structures, for which the end markets are declining;
A favorable price-mix effect of +16.0%, driven by a confirmed recovery in activities that have traditionally been profitable for the Group, such as Solar Protection and the new Solutions business lines, as well as the impact of price increases introduced to mitigate the negative effect of high inflation on certain raw materials.
H1 2025 activity
The Group posted sales of €178.7 million in the first half of 2025, up by more than 10% on both current and constant scopes and exchange rates.
Half-year sales trends by geographical region are as follows:
Europe posted solid revenue growth of 6.7% on a current scope and exchange rate basis and 6.5% on a constant scope and exchange rate basis, with sales of almost €129 million over the period, thanks to historic markets that remain well oriented.
After a difficult 2024 exercise in North American markets, sales in the Americas rebounded strongly in the first half. Growth accelerated sharply between the 1st and 2nd quarters, taking half-year sales up to €23.4 million, representing growth at constant scope and exchanges rates of +49%.
Sales in the Asia-Africa-Pacific region were up 5.4% on H1 2024, both on a current and constant scope and exchange rates basis, due to good momentum in the various markets.
Outlook
Based on a seasonal history between the first (driven by solar protection activity and tense architecture) and the second half of the fiscal year, the group will focus (despite an uncertain context, particularly on the geopolitical level) on maintaining its trajectory initiated with Transform 2025 that aims at increasing its adaptability and profitability.
Financier calendar
Publication of first half 2025 results on September 10, 2025, after market close.

BOJ to be cautiously upbeat, keep rates steady as trade gloom lifts
By Leika Kihara TOKYO (Reuters) -The Bank of Japan is set to keep interest rates steady on Thursday and offer a cautiously optimistic view on the economic outlook, after Tokyo's trade deal with Washington cleared some uncertainty surrounding its fragile recovery. Markets are focusing on any hints Governor Kazuo Ueda may offer on the likelihood of another rate hike this year, as the central bank weighs lingering tariff-induced risks to growth and mounting inflationary pressure from higher food costs. "Given the high degree of uncertainty, I understand a wait and see stance is necessary for now," former BOJ Deputy Governor Hiroshi Nakaso told Reuters, warning U.S. tariffs and slowing global demand will weigh on Japan's economy. "But once the uncertainties clear enough for the BOJ to restore confidence that the economic and inflation trajectory will move in line with their projections, I think they will be back on their way to the next rate hike," he said. At the two-day meeting ending on Thursday, the BOJ is widely expected to keep short-term interest rates steady at 0.5%. In a quarterly report, the BOJ is likely to revise up this fiscal year's inflation forecast but maintain its view that underlying inflation - or price moves driven by domestic demand - remains short of its 2% target, sources have told Reuters. The BOJ may offer a less gloomy view on the economy compared with the current one focused on tariff-induced risks, but likely to warn of lingering uncertainty on how the higher U.S. levy affects business activity, separate sources said. "A weak real economy, a lack of demand-driven price pressure and lingering trade uncertainty will keep the central bank on hold," said Stefan Angrick, head of Japan and Frontier markets Economics at Moody's Analytics. "Our best guess is that the central bank will next hike rates in January, though a hike may come as early as December 2025," he said. A Reuters poll, taken before the Japan-U.S. trade deal announcement earlier this month, showed a majority of economists expect the BOJ to raise rates again by year-end. Japan's trade deal struck with President Donald Trump this month lowers U.S. tariffs for imports of goods including its mainstay automobiles, easing the pain for the export-reliant economy and clearing a key hurdle for further BOJ rate hikes. The positive development contrasts with the gloom that surrounded the economy on May 1, when the BOJ produced its current estimates amid heightened market volatility caused by Trump's April announcement of sweeping "reciprocal" tariffs. But the BOJ has not let its guard down yet. Deputy Governor Shinichi Uchida warned earlier this month that it was still hard to tell how much damage U.S. tariffs and slowing global trade could inflict on Japan's economy. The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday edged up its global growth forecast on front-loading demand from firms seeking to beat tariffs, but warned of major risks to the outlook including a potential rebound in tariffs. The key would be whether Japan's big manufacturers, which have been key drivers of wage hikes, will continue to increase pay as their profits get squeezed by U.S. tariffs, analysts say. The BOJ exited a decade-long, massive stimulus last year and raised its short-term policy rate to 0.5% in January on the view Japan was progressing towards durably achieving its price goal. While Governor Ueda has signaled a pause in rate hikes after Trump's April 2 announcement of "reciprocal" tariffs, Japan's trade deal with the U.S. has revived market expectations of an increase in its short-term policy rate to 0.75% by year-end. Some hawkish BOJ board members have stressed the need to pay more attention to upside risks to prices with stubbornly high food costs keeping core inflation above the bank's 2% target for well over three years. In current projections made on May 1, the BOJ projects core consumer inflation to hit 2.2% in fiscal 2025, before slowing to 1.7% in 2026 and 1.9% in 2027. Sign in to access your portfolio

Trump to add 25% tariff to Indian imports. Which everyday goods could be impacted?
President Donald Trump announced the United States will impose a 25% tariff on Indian goods starting Aug. 1, after months of negotiations over a limited trade agreement between the two nations appeared to fall through. Trump announced the new tariff in a post on his social media app Truth Social on July 30, two days before a bevy of increased reciprocal tariffs will go into effect for dozens of nations on Aug. 1. These new import levies come amid an existing baseline tariff of 10%, and Trump warned this week that most trading partners that do not negotiate separate trade deals could soon face new baseline tariffs of 15% to 20%. India, the world's fifth-largest economy, relies significantly on the U.S., counting it as its top trading partner in 2024, though China is close on its heels by a small margin. Learn more: President Trump announces 25% tariff on imports from India Indian goods exports to the U.S. totaled $87 billion in 2024, with pharmaceuticals and jewelry among its top product types, followed by petrochemicals and textiles. Separately, services exports, mainly IT and professional services, were worth $33 billion last year. The U.S. is India's third-largest investor, and currently has a $45.7 billion trade deficit with the South Asian nation. Here are some of the products the U.S. relies on most from India, according to data from the U.S. International Trade Commission: Pharmaceuticals The U.S. accounts for nearly a third of India's pharmaceutical exports, mainly cheaper versions of popular drugs, Reuters reports, with sales jumping 16% to about $9 billion last fiscal year. Among the dozens of types of medications the U.S. imports from India, a few classifications make up a significant share. They are items like wadding, gauze and bandages; antineoplastic and immunosuppressive medications, including those used to treat cancers; and analgesics, antipyretics and nonhormonal anti-inflammatory agents, such as pain relievers and medications used to reduce fevers. Smartphones Though China and Vietnam were responsible for more than half of phones sent to the U.S. last year, India also produces a significant share, and looks to be gaining a firmer foothold in the market. According to a new report, India has overtaken China in the last few months as the top exporter of smartphones to the U.S., following Apple's pivot to center manufacturing in New Delhi amid tariff concerns. The share of U.S. smartphone shipments assembled in China fell from 61% to 25% over the past year, the research firm Canalys said, with India picking up most of the decline and increasing its smartphone volume by 240% roughly within the same time frame. More: Trump's trade talks intensify with tariff deadline fast approaching Jewelry and precious stones Next to pharmaceuticals, jewelry and precious stones are among India's top products exported to American consumers. More than 30% of India's gems and jewelry exports go to the U.S., accounting for about $10 billion in annual trade in an industry that topped $30 billion in India in the 2023/2024 fiscal year. These goods include unmounted or unset diamonds, precious metal jewelry and jewelry clad with precious metal − such as pieces plated with gold or silver. Home linens India is among the top countries responsible for imported home linens in the U.S., representing 36% of nearly $6 billion in imports, according to a New York Times analysis of government data. These products include bathroom and kitchen linen made of terrycloth or cotton, along with bed and table linens. India is also a leader in some types of imported clothing, such as activewear, shirts, baby clothes and suits. According to the Yale Budget Lab, the tariff hikes so far have disproportionately affected clothing and textiles, with consumers facing up to 39% higher shoe prices and 37% higher apparel prices in the short run. Other products The U.S. also relies on Indian imports of frozen shrimp and prawns, petroleum oils such as transformer oil and motor fuel, semiconductor technologies like solar panels and certain types of electrical machinery and parts. NewMarket Corporation Reports Second Quarter and First Half 2025 Results
RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NewMarket Corporation (NYSE:NEU) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas E. Gottwald, released the following earnings report of the Company's operations for the second quarter and first half of 2025. Net income for the second quarter of 2025 was $111.2 million, or $11.84 per share, compared to net income of $111.6 million, or $11.63 per share, for the same period last year. For the first half of 2025, net income was $237.2 million, or $25.11 per share, compared to $219.4 million, or $22.87 per share, for the same period in 2024. Petroleum additives sales for the second quarter of 2025 were $653.9 million, compared to $669.8 million for the same period in 2024. Petroleum additives operating profit for the second quarter of 2025 was $139.8 million, compared to $147.8 million for the second quarter of 2024. The decrease in petroleum additives operating profit was primarily driven by a 2.5% decline in shipments between quarterly periods and an increase in technology investments, slightly offset by favorable product mix. The decline in shipments was mainly driven by lubricant additives shipments, partially offset by a slight increase in fuel additives shipments. Petroleum additives sales were $1.3 billion for the first half of 2025 and the first half of 2024. Petroleum additives operating profit for the first half of 2025 was $281.9 million, compared to $298.7 million in the same period last year. The drivers for the decrease in operating profit between these periods were consistent with those affecting the second quarter comparison discussed above. Shipments decreased 4.9% when comparing the first half of 2025 with the same period in 2024, with decreases in both lubricant additives and fuel additives shipments. Specialty materials sales were $42.0 million for the second quarter of 2025, compared to $38.0 million for the second quarter of 2024. Specialty materials operating profit was $10.5 million for the second quarter of 2025, compared to operating profit of $5.0 million for the second quarter of 2024. The increase in specialty materials operating profit was primarily driven by increased volumes. As previously stated, we will see substantial variation in quarterly results for the specialty materials segment on an ongoing basis due to the nature of its business. Specialty materials sales were $95.8 million for the first half of 2025, compared to $55.1 million for the first half of 2024. Specialty materials operating profit for the first half of 2025 was $33.7 million, compared to slightly above breakeven in the same period last year. Specialty materials sales and operating profit for the first half of 2024 reflect financial results since the acquisition of American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC) on January 16, 2024. Our operations generated solid cash flows during the first half of 2025. We repurchased common stock for $77.2 million, including $20.2 million of repurchases in the second quarter, paid dividends of $51.9 million, and funded capital expenditures of $29.3 million in the first half of 2025. Additionally, we reduced our Net Debt by $122.2 million during the first half of 2025, driving our Net Debt to EBITDA ratio down to 1.0 as of June 30, 2025. We are pleased with the strong performance of our business during the first half of 2025 and continue to see favorable results from our ongoing efficiency initiatives. Investing in technology to meet customer needs, enhancing our operational efficiency, and improving our portfolio profitability will remain priorities throughout 2025. We continue to monitor the uncertain macroeconomic environment, particularly the changes in international trade relations and tariffs, and assess the potential impacts to our operations. Our dedicated team makes decisions to promote long-term value for our shareholders and customers, and remains focused on our long-term objectives. We believe the fundamentals of how we run our business - a long-term view, safety-first culture, customer-focused solutions, technology-driven product offerings, and world-class supply chain capability - will continue to be beneficial for all our stakeholders. Sincerely, Thomas E. Gottwald The petroleum additives segment consists of the North America (the United States and Canada), Latin America (Mexico, Central America, and South America), Asia Pacific, and Europe/Middle East/Africa/India (Europe or EMEAI) regions. The specialty materials segment, which consists of the AMPAC business, operates primarily in North America. The Company has disclosed the non-GAAP financial measures EBITDA, Net Debt, and Net Debt to EBITDA, as well as the related calculations in the schedules included with this earnings release. EBITDA is defined as income from continuing operations before the deduction of interest and financing expenses, income taxes, depreciation (on property, plant, and equipment) and amortization (on intangibles and lease right-of-use assets). Net Debt to EBITDA is defined as Net Debt divided by EBITDA for the rolling four quarters ended as of the specified date.
