Fourth former Drake Bulldog commits to Iowa basketball
Howard arrives with three seasons of eligibility and dons the black and gold after a freshman season at Drake in which he averaged 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. The 6-foot-5, 200 pound guard shot 43.5% from the field, including 31.1% from 3-point range.

Howard played in 30 games and scored in double figures on three occasions, including his career-high 21-point outing against Southern Illinois on March 7 in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament semifinal.
A native of Plattsburg, Mo., Howard was ranked as a three-star signee to Drake in the 2024 class per 247Sports. 247Sports ranked Howard as the nation's No. 67 shooting guard and as the No. 10 player from Missouri.
Howard joins a Hawkeye roster that features a trio of his former Drake teammates in guards Bennett Stirtz and Kael Combs and in forward Cam Manyawu.
Iowa also brings back sophomore forward Cooper Koch, who decided upon a return to Iowa after briefly entering the transfer portal. Koch appeared in 10 games, averaging 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 42.9% from 3-point range.

Stirtz was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year last season after posting averages of 19.2 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 49.8% from the field and 39.5% from 3-point range.
Manyawu averaged 7.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game on 57.8% shooting from the field while starting all 35 games for the Bulldogs last season.
Lastly, Combs played in 31 games last season at Drake, averaging 3.8 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 51.1% from the field and 80.0% from the free throw line.

Missouri football lands pledge on back-to-back days, adds offensive lineman to 2026 class
Missouri football's Class of 2026 just got quite a bit bigger. Three-star offensive lineman Khalief Canty Jr. has committed to the Tigers' next recruiting class, he announced Tuesday while at the Rivals Five-Star showcase in Indianapolis, where he is currently practicing and competing at the Indianapolis Colts' facilities alongside 100 high-school prospects. Rivals first reported his commitment. Advertisement Canty is the second player to commit to the Tigers in as many days, following Chicago-based, three-star running back Maxwell Warner's pledge Monday. The offensive lineman is the No. 434-ranked player in his class, according to the recruiting service 247Sports' composite rankings. That makes the Detroit product the No. 38-ranked interior offensive lineman in this cycle, and the No. 9 prospect in the state of Michigan. Canty is listed at 6 foot 5, 305 pounds, and plays his high school football at Cass Technical. He chose Mizzou over Michigan State and Pittsburgh. Mizzou now has six players committed to its Class of 2026, five of whom play on the offensive side of the ball. Mizzou's other commitment in this cycle has come from four-star, in-state linebacker Keenan Harris out of St. Louis University High. Notre Dame's Bino Watters named to D1Baseball's freshman All-America second-team
Notre Dame may not have made the NCAA Tournament this past baseball season, but the program has a promising future with young talent and a few new faces as well. One of the young members of the team, Bino Watters, was named to the freshman All-America second-team by for his performance in 2025. The 6-foot-2, 227-pound Michigan native hit .317 and had an OPS of .984 as a DH. He added 40 runs with nine doubles, nine home runs and 39 RBI during his debut campaign with the Fighting Irish. The left-handed hitter registered 16 multi-hit games this past spring. Watters was also an ACC all-freshman team selection, and the future is bring for the rising sophomore.
