Deshonne Redeaux is serving as a recruiter for USC
USC is currently putting together an elite 2026 recruiting class. Under new general manager Chad Bowden, the Trojans have the No. 1 class in the country for the 2026 cycle, and do not show any signs of slowing down any time soon.
One of USC's commits in the class is four-star running back Deshonne Redeaux. Since committing to the Trojans a month ago, Redeaux has been trying to recruit other top prospects to join him at USC.
At the Under Armour Next Camp on Sunday, Redeaux spoke to Gerard Martinez of 247Sports about his role in helping to put together the Trojans' class.
"I'm recruiting [four-star safety] Davon Benjamin, [four-star wide receiver] Vance Spafford—Vance and I played seven-on-seven together and have been friends ever since," Redeaux said. "I've been talking to him and [five-star tight end] Mark Bowman as well.
"I don't know Mark personally, but I've talked to him."
Redeaux was particularly effusive about the Trojans' offensive line class.
"I'll keep doing my recruiting, but I think we'll get the big boys we want," Redeaux said. "We got [five-star offensive tackle Keenyi] Pepe and I have a relationship with him that goes back to Carson. We went to school together and everything. We played together with the Cali Bears, to Carson Colts and then Lace Facts.
"We basically grew up together. The recruiting class is like a brotherhood. We all know each other and grew up playing together or against each other."
Chad Bowden does not seem to need much help in recruiting players to USC. But having a guy like Redeaux assisting in his efforts certainly cannot hurt.

USC men's basketball reportedly to open 2025-2026 season vs Cal Poly at Galen Center
While the start of the 2025 college football season is just around the corner, college basketball is not all that far away, either. On Friday, details were reported regarding USC men's basketball's first game of the year. Friday afternoon, college basketball analyst Rocco Miller reported that the Trojans will host Big West foe Cal Poly at Galen Center on November 3. The game will be the season opener for both teams. This is the second nonconference matchup of USC's that Miller has reported in the past week. Recently, he revealed that the Trojans are finalizing an agreement to face Illinois State at Intuit Dome in Inglewood on November 14. USC is entering Year 2 under head coach Eric Musselman. After an underwhelming 2024-2025 season, the Trojans will be looking to level up and return to NCAA Tournament contention in 2025-2026. They need to have a month of November which is much more successful than what they produced last year. USC stumbled out of the gate last season and reduced its NCAA Tournament margin for error. That can't happen this coming November.

USC football countdown to kickoff continues—Tuli Tuipulotu in focus
The countdown to USC's 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 49 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we look at former USC All-American defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu. Position: Defensive line Years played at USC: 2020-2022 Career highlights: Tuipulotu emerged as an immediate contributor on USC's defensive line as a true freshman in 2020. That year, he played alongside his older brother, Marlon. With Marlon off to the NFL in 2021, the younger Tuipulotu stepped up to help fill the void, earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors. In 2022, however, Tuipulotu took things to an entirely new level. That season, he recorded a remarkable 13.5 sacks, the most of any player in the country. In addition, he had 46 total tackles and two forced fumbles. Tuipulotu was named a Unanimous All-American and won Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, the Morris Trophy (given to the top lineman in the Pac-12 Conference, and the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year award. After USC: Following the 2022 season, Tuipulotu declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, where the Los Angeles Chargers selected him in the second round. It has not taken Tuipulotu long to emerge as a star at the professional level. After being named the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2023, he followed it up with an 8.5-sack campaign in 2024. Still just 22 years old, Tuipulotu appears to be one of the league's brightest young stars on the defensive line.

Former Ohio State Star Sets Clear Expectations for Lincoln Riley
Former Ohio State Star Sets Clear Expectations for Lincoln Riley originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Anthony Schlegel, former Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker and strength coach, isn't mincing words when it comes to USC Trojans coach Lincoln Riley's outlook in 2025. During an appearance on "The Bobby Carpenter Show," Schlegel made it clear that the pressure is on Riley to deliver. Advertisement 'You have to win this year. He has to,' Schlegel said bluntly when asked about Riley's future in Los Angeles. Schlegel, known for his no-nonsense approach as both a player and coach, questioned why Riley's Trojans have continued to underperform despite having top-tier talent on the roster. 'There is that expectation. A coach with the pedigree that Lincoln Riley has with Heisman Trophies, then what is missing?' Schlegel asked. That question looms large after a disappointing 8–5 season in 2023, which included defensive meltdowns and a late-season collapse despite the presence of 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams at quarterback. Things took another step back in 2024 as the Trojans finished with a 7-6 record. Advertisement Riley made a major staff move last offseason by hiring D'Anton Lynn away from the UCLA Bruins to fix the defensive issues, but Schlegel still isn't convinced that's enough long term. 'Let's make a change, they got better," Schlegel said. "You had a Heisman Trophy quarterback and [the team] still kinda sucked. So, why? Is it the team? What's the culture like in the building?' USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley.© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Schlegel also wondered aloud about player development under Riley's staff: 'If you got the talent, are they not being developed? I don't know what it is, but you're the head man.' USC has stepped up its efforts in recruiting, accumulating the No. 1 class for 2026, per Rivals. However, that class is still a year away from being on campus. Advertisement 'This is the year,' he said. 'No more excuses. It's put up or shut up.'
